Forging A Knight's Worst Nightmare - Rondel from [Dark and Darker]

Ойын-сауық

Forging a rogues rondel dagger from Dark and Darker. This rondel is forged from low layer twisted damascus or pattern welded steel. Much like a Stiletto, the rondel is a more stout version of the spiked dagger . All of the hilt parts are forged as well. Matt even added a challenge by trying to forge the pommel from an old piece of rebar. We show how to spiral flute and wood handle for a dagger using nothing but files. There is blacksmithing and bladesmithing mixed with some carpentry wood working. This is a great DIY crafting video if you have any interest in making a rondel or any dagger.

I agree, Illya's contribution is missed and the quality of the builds is still there. I can understand why Illya has stepped back though, being a Master Armourer and only ever being asked to produce blades doesn't help him grow in his craft. Where is the request for a scale mail suit of armour? Or plate mail? or even ring and chain mail? For a shield? Helmet? With Illya being focused on all of those and never getting to actually build them by request it is understandable why he has stepped back to focus on them, sad he has not chosen to bring us along on his journey to explore his craft.
