Forging a Kitchen KNIFE out of Rusted BEARING
Ғылым және технология
This time I forged extremely sharp Kitchen Knife out of rusty Bearing. This is Japanese style knife and it is very efficient and durable. The steel blade was hardened and tempered also Copper bolster added to a handle.
To operate such Razor Sharp knife it is necessary to have some Basic knife skills. This steel has very high carbon up to 1% does not rust so quickly and has great sharpening potential. For a sample I took a model of culinary "Petty" or sushi knife - Japanese word for a paring or utility knife and it came from the French word “petite”. It's really Perfect to slice fruits and veggies and also equally as handy for work on a cutting board. This beautiful knife is now used in my own kitchen and I like it . I hope you enjoyed watching this video. It is my number 10 uploaded video on KZread! :) Please leave your comment below and press LIKE 👍
Materials I used: a half of rusty Bearing for a blade, Stained Oak for handle (bog oak) and for Bolster took small Copper plate. The Japanese style of knives is really impressive, they are very sharp and perfect for kitchen. In the process I used an available tools and my own hands, this project took me 8 days of accurate work.

That is some really great work. The stained oak made it look elegant and classy. No one would've thought it was once a rusty ball bearing.
I'm so in love with this guy 😍😍😍

That mirror finish is gorgeous! What knife do you have in your pocket when you're cutting the potato?
Nice project! No fan of round handles on knives but your choice of wood and finish were great.
Well done, sir. The copper and bog oak are perfect compliments to the mirror finish of the blade.
that wood is really wonderfull. I wonder what it smells like!

I'm curious, too. Probably smells expensive? A large project or small campfire would cost thousands of dollars (US).
👌👌👍👍
Absolutely incredible work. Awesome.
Очень круто. Но ручка такая для для постоянной работы не удобна. Но смотрится очень хорошо
Wow god
wow
I wonder, could you make a survival knife ?
Beautiful and a great job making it! Is that Bog Wood for the handle and is it a single or double edge you have on it? Enjoyed your video and I gave it a Thumbs Up. I also subscribed to your channel

All done by my hands, just like shown in video, edge also made manualy without any belt sanders
Very nice, liked and subbed. I like your creativity and industriousness. You make up in cleverness where you lack in tools. That Bog Oak is fascinating, great colour and finish!

👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼
Are you a full-time blacksmith
The blade is flawless. The handle is very attractive visually but is abysmally bad for gripping.
Very pretty, but the handle is too round. A more square-like shape is preferable for blades.
First to like 👍
You should not make the handles of kitchen knives in the form of a cylinder. Using a cylindrical handles of kitchen knife with a greasy hand can be dangerous. Other than that, I liked it. Especially your knife forming techniques are innovative. :)
Can you do something like this for me and send it to him as a gift to Iraq?
Безупречно изумительная работа. Мира вашему дому.
