Unbelievable skill on display here in the finished piece. Wow. Absolutely masterful.
Had a great time watching. I've been making armor for 30 years, Its always fun to see how other people approach the process. I use a press since my elbow has given out.
Scoured the internet to essentially find this video series regarding well made gladiator helms, and you did not disappoint! Amazing craftsmanship on display here! I give a HELL YEAH to finishing the outfit!
"I'm off to fight a fire in Sheffield now." I almost choked to death! 🤣🤣🤣
It is a very beautiful helmet. The craftsmanship with which this is made is of the highest order and quality. If we look at what you started with, and what you now have in your hands on your head or on the table, then I can only say , Very well done.
say less, we vote for the rest of the armor. Great work it looks amazing
Another Thak work of art. Just WOW! Yep make the rest of the kit.
Amazing! Really enjoy hearing your thoughts outloud as you work and think about possible ongoing changes
I don’t know 💩 about historical gladiator armor, except movies😂 but I love it. Amazing work and design 👍👍👍
Well done Thak. Great video. Thanks for your time in making it.
Thak continues to amaze!
Мне очень понравилось. Великолепный мастер. Хорошо снято. приятный человек, по нашему мужик, что надо!!!
Espectacular!!!
beautiful! This helmet is flashy, this would've been worn by the local Arena champion for sure. As far as for the shoulder plates, I say a big YES.
Leaving out the grille was the right decision. Just the lines looks better, and more consistent with the lines on the dome too. Amazing helmet! Well done.
Awesome helmet, good job!
On the subject of the crest, i think it's because the gladiator fights were a spectator sport, not meant to be the most efficient or practical thing. Just my 2 cents. Also YES to the rest of the outfit!
Looks really good!
OMG, I didn't realize metalwork had many euphemisms in its terminology. LOVE IT. Love to see you in a LITTLE loincloth and metal armour, Thak.

I better start getting into shape then
Those who are about to forge, we salute you!
so much work! amazing
Love it! I wish KZread took into consideration the arts that take longer to make and would push those more. Underrated channel for sure, love your content and you inspired me to start metalworking a year ago. Thank you
Wow! What an absolute amazing build to watch. Imagine walking into an arena to the cheering of hundreds of people wearing something like this. And YES, we want to see the rest of the armor build (and worn) maybe even a gladius to fit. Cheers o/
The old world and sci-fi met here. Beautiful. Skill.
Wonderful!
Really awesome to see it come together - bronze is such a cool material. And yes of course need the matching armor sleeve!
I feel like I need to weigh in here. I have significant expertise in things that are amazing, and that is exactly what this is! Amazing to have seen this come along, and what a spectacular result! Well done sir!!
Awesome, wouldn’t know the history but wow that would be a lot of weight lol
So cool
I think the arm thingy is called a Manica. And yes. DO IT ! please.
wow ! You are an absolut master for this type of work/art. Thank you for sharing, you help me a lot on the way of sheet metal work.
Absolute work of art, brother.

Send me an email...I have a few ideas right off the top of my head
Not sure how it would look on a bronze age style helmet, but @howtomakearmor uses a button/spring style rivet for holding hinged pieces together on occasion. Im sure you'd know the proper term and uses for that. Would love to see a long distance collab between you two Cheers from Sask!
Awesome craftsmanship, impressive.
Beautiful work
Hey Thak, I... "dabble" In alot of sculpture and is why i love your content. This year I thought i would try my hand at a sword (it has been 9 years and i am yet to make a sword) and I figure I'd try my hand at Conan the Barbarian's Atlantean Sword, Nothing serious yet, just going though the order of processes. I was wondering how you would approach this recasso area on it... has me stumped... I am aware the answer is probally more indepth than a YT reply can provide but I thought I'd ask regardless. Who knows maybe even inspire you to make one one of these days :P Killer helm my dude!
Incredible work.
phenomenal work!!
Makes no sense to have face armor that splits down the middle, it just makes a weak point.

To eat a gladiator snack.
Would the center catch perform well in actual use? Would it shake open with impact? I like the accessibility of it and the sexy reveal of the face. Just my armchair thought. Amazing work and enjoyable commentary
