Doug testing his knife, "this blade... will not cut".. Will, "Doug, I'm gonna ask you to surrender your weapon and exit the forge".

One of my favorite things about Forged in Fire is how little drama there is on the show among the constants and judges. They're all so respectful and constructive. Not bitchy at all.

Very much so, that I why one of the reason why I loved Masterchef Australia and Ninja Warriors. In both of those shows they let their craft and challenges they go through do the talking and make the show entertaining. On the other hand I hate Masterchef USA and gordon ramsey with the bald fellow who used to be in it and even though they are good in their craft they treat people horribly just for the sake of entertainment. I really hate that as I do not like seeing people depressed just for the sake of my entertainment.

NO WAY should that show get away with paying these tradesmen virtually nothing while making off like bandits. $10,000 grand prize???? Are they effing serious?
The hosts should try the challenge and see who would win with the winnings going to a charity of choice.

Princess Lemmy - What makes you think that? They call Dave something like "Weapons recreation expert". He recreates various weapons from history, very accurately. He is a great smith. You don't have to be a member of ABS to be a "master smith".
Props to Wil and Doug for learning to forge and to J. for teaching them.
A charity show with Jay vs. Jason vs. Dave vs. Ben would be awesome. Being back previous champs to be judges!
I love how master smith J. Neilson uses an old crock pot to quench knives. You can't beat simplicity.
Forged in Fire is one of my favorite shows because of the sword crafting, and comradery. It’s the friendliest competition show I’ve ever seen.
Love this show! Kudos to Will and Doug in immersing themselves into this aspect of the show! J. Nielsen, have a speedy recovery sir!

I WANNA SEE AN EPISODE WHERE NIELSON, KNIGHT, ABBOT AND BAKER ALL JUST MAKE AN ICONIC WEAPON FROM HISTORY. I DONT EVEN NEED TO SEE A WINNER, JUST HAVE WIL AND DOUG DO ALL THE TESTS AND THEN THEY ALL GET A BEER
I didn't know how much I needed this video. For some reason, it made me incredibly happy to see Will and Doug making knives.
I love the judges in this show. While watching the competition is what got me hooked, the personalities of the judges is what really makes the show great.
Still the best show on TV. A new garage forge is started everyday because of this show!

What kind of oven do you recommend for tempering? Please help
@fullerblacksmithing7954
4 жыл бұрын
Depends on the size of the blade. For your smaller blade made of a 10 series, I would use your normal oven at 200-300 for about 2 hours, then take it out and do another hour or 2 hours. If you want to speed it up do 400 for 1 hour. For a larger blade, 20 inches you want to temper to a darker golden wheat, while a normal blade would be a wheat. Hope this helps
Brilliant stuff
