Forge Welding DAMASCUS STEEL w/ NO Power Hammer

Тәжірибелік нұсқаулар және стиль

This is Part 2 in this Damascus steel forging series. We're starting with 8 layers and I'm planning to get to 32 layers today. Hope you like hammer hitting hot steel, because that's what we're doing A LOT of in this video. Forge weld, cut in half, stack it, repeat... that's the plan today. The next part will be making something from this Damascus... stay tuned.

Thanks, it should be a decent pattern once I'm done.

Thank you! I can't wait to make something out of it. I think a pair of tomahawks would be pretty cool, like from that show The Terminal List.

I don't know much about forging but how come when you are hitting the piece of steel you sometimes do it every arm swing and then other times you hit/tap the anvil then hit the piece of steel every other time. Just curious didn't know if it has something to do with fatigue.

It was most definitely fatigue. But it also gives me an extra second to plan the next hit.

@@petr0rabbit it does help me keep a rythm and I feel a little more accurate with my hammer strikes.
