I asked random tourists and foreigners to try popular (and crazy) Singapore's CNY (Chinese New Year / Lunar New Year) food. The "bizarreness" of the food escalates each round. Hope you enjoy this one!

Cute video, alas in time to come. All these would be faint images in the history books.
I like the Japanese family reaction - scary 😢 at first then when they started to toss the 'yu sheng' laughing loudly and asked for big house and good salary 😂😂.

Lol!! I love the variety of tourists u asked to try our CNY snacks - from Indians to Germans… love it!! Super nice video 👍🏻🥹
6:32 the japanese couple reaction is priceless!
Ghib Ojisan has a funny bone. I was eating n burst out laughing when he said it was tiring tossing yusheng. That comment was totally unexpected. 😂 The Japanese husband seemed like a foodie boy whose face lit up everytime he tried a snack. He seemed to like all of them hahaha. Overall, this was an enjoyable video to watch. ❤
Ghib, you’re like Singapore’s Korean Englishman I love it
Your videos were always nice. But this one, I love the most. Thank you for introducing our local cny snacks!

Great video. Thanks for introducing our SG CNY food and culture. I laughed when your guests tossed the Yu Sheng - they are super gentle. 🤣🤣
When I was young, my grandma bought some sea cucumbers and soaked them in a plastic container under the sink. I saw them and went "eeeeee" and ran away out of the kitchen and didn't dare to come back inside.
He promotes Singapore well. Thank you.
Love Bak Kwa especially those thicker cut that still juicy & tender…use blow torch to give it another quick sear & reheat just before eating
Tks for doing this episode, let foreigners try out Singapore CNY snacks 😊👍🏻👍🏻👏🏻👏🏻
Huat!!! As always - a great content to showcase Singapore’s culture to foreigners . Thx Huat !!

Kueh Bangkit- second snack, has almond ingredient
@shiopiii
6 ай бұрын
it doesn't contain almonds, the main ingredient is tapioca flour, egg and coconut milk/cream if you google recipes none of them add almond 😊
Yu sheng is always the fun food for Singapore 😂
Huat ah! Jeephun lang lai liao!
Lol I like your tshirt with 3 pockets. Where you buy them?
Just a suggestion, you should let them try the sweeter and stronger taste later. as it will affect the taste buds for the next item. Nice Video!!!
Do you know that for the small sachet bak kwa, before you open the sachet, soak in hot water for 5-10s then open up to eat, it will taste better.

Do try the arrowhead chips. They are those potato like chips you see packed in bottles that can be found in local bakeries and NTUC too. Once you start, you won't stop!

I miss CNY and pineapple tarts..
😂 didi's face at 10:44 HAHAHA
Huat Ah! (and hence wasting food) was not the culture in Singapore 30 years ago. When i was a kid, Yu Sheng was only taken by Cantonese and we would just wish something like progress in studies for students or peace in the family. Into the 90s, the custom was spread to all chinese dialects and i start hearing people saying huat ah!
Different viewpoints about Chinese festival.
MY and SG cny food are the same 😊
👍
Letting them have extra spicy prawn rolls is not appropriate as they are beginners.🤣🤣🤣
im going to japan during golden week, was thinking to share some Singapore snacks with the people of japan hotel staffs, hopefully some new friends i make there etc. These are some good ideas for me to bring there. any other suggestions please.
I love Japanese and Indian snacks.

Hello this kuah from the malays kueh tart, kuah bangkit, intro the proper way and information
The prawn rolls are product of Indonesia
Surprised that Japanese with all their amazing seafood cuisine do not have sea cucumber as a popular cuisine.
The Merlion reopened already ah?
