Foreign students Shaolin Temple (uncut)

I was training for some months near the Shaolin temple. After my time of training, I started filming the other foreign students. The videos are long and uncut, but in that way it keeps the original feeling of being inside the temple.
The page where you can apply for training a month/s or year/s in this Shoulin temple; kungfushaolins.com/
The school is called; Songshan Shaolin Traditional Wushu Academy Cultural Center

Great Video Marcus!!! It really does give people a genuine feeling of what they might expect should they train at one of these schools near the Shaolin Temple.

With all due respect Marcus, I think the title of this video is perhaps misleading. None of this footage was filmed at the Shaolin Temple, but in Wangzhigou, the village within the Shaolin Temple Scenic Area, 10 minutes walk from the actual Shaolin Temple. I am well aware that the school you study at (featured in the video) has agreement with the Shaolin Temple to accept foreign students, but that doesn't make it the actual Shaolin Temple. Again, no disrespect to you or your school, and I know many students there are very happy . But i just think it's better to be as transparent as possible when representing things to potential future students.

+Bed Head Hi there. :) Well, the cert says the material was kept unedited to 'keep the original feeling of being inside the temple'. His school isn't in the temple. For someone to say it's a Shaolin Temple for foriegn students, IMHO, doesn't make much sense either. It's a school, that teaches Shaolin martial arts, not a temple. The Shaolin Temple is a separate place, a real temple, where foriegn and Chinese students can go to study Shaolin martial arts. I was just emphasising that distinction. But at the end of the day, if everyone is clear on what the video shows, then no worries. I guess it's just me who thought it wasn't clear. ^_^

There are several schools in the area that teach martial arts.Obviously, there is the Shaolin Temple itself, there is Tagou Martial Arts Academy down the road, the school in the video I believe is the Shaolin Wushu Institute, and there is also CK Martial Hearts, my company. You can google any of them for more information.

So I’ve been looking into Buddhism for about 2 years now, and I really would like to study and train at Shaolin Temple, and hopefully become a monk. How does a foreigner go about traveling to the temple? Like what visas and things like that would I need?

I visited the Shaolin temple and it;s area in 2000. I was wondering, there are a number of schools in China to live and learn Kung Fu. Is the Shao Lin Temple's foreigner study program good, or is it commercialized, touristy, etc.

I really want to train but I don't want them to go easy on me because I'm a foreigner, I want the strictness, punishments, living with the others in the school and everything else. I want it to be authentic. if you know any please link them to me, thank you 😄

Rosewaterqueen they can’t just accept everybody, u have to train and if u have the potential u can get to join. Some foreigners just go and commercialize it by teaching other people for money, which is against the rule of shaolin. So the real shaolin isn’t something anybody can come and go. U gotta be dedicated to it
