I like that. "Only you can prevent this!" I think I'll use that saying. "OMG. I think I'm pregnant!" "Only you can prevent this." Works for me.
I didn't know Jack Black was a diesel mechanic...

Should've done the rear main seal while you were in there
Fill and flush! Grandad used to say that anti freeze and grease were cheaper than head gaskets and bearings.... Words to live by.
Deboss flavored water, collected from tractor springs, get yours today! LMAO
i am an ag tech happens all the time on that series of ford tractors try a brass freez plug will last almost forever.use line up studs helps to go back together easier .
LOL "it's not ready yet" I love my Sunday morning DeBoss vids. Thank you and Happy Mother's Day to Mrs DeBoss 😊
i like the cleanliness of the shop. Very real, very usable.
AL from Mighty Car Mods 2 just gave you a shout out
Take a tip from the Marine industry use Bronze freeze plugs in those hard to get to places.
ITS NOT READY YET hahaha you forgot the tea bag rich.......another good video , thank you it was enjoyable to see the old ford tractor fixed .........thanks mate
12:30 Testing the coolant and spewing it everywhere, Classic!!! Great job Deboss!
Great video, Rich! The videos were you actually fix machines are by far my favourite.
I served my time at a Ford dealers in the UK and every time we did a clutch it was mandatory to change the plugs in the back of the engine.
I work in Ag and the best way I was taught to clean a cooling system is to fill with water and add Napisan....run until operation temp for 15mins and then flush with clean water until it stops foaming. When I questioned the old guy that showed me he said “ you wash ya fucking clothes in it to remove stains don’t ya?? “. I had no come back 😂
Deboss Garage : Rusted through soft plug behind the rear engine block plate at the top of the block just below the cylinder head. Issue that's becoming more and more prevalent, as they age, on the Fords from the 1950's, 1960's, and 1970's. My buddy Chris and I just did one on a Ford 4100 farm tractor.
Love the tractor videos!

I'm a heavy equipment and farm equipment mechanic and I like videos like this one as well. Greetings from Slovenia 🇸🇮
Especially important to change the antifreeze on 1000 and 10 series Ford engines as they are know for porous blocks which leads to water in the oil. An alternative to changing the coolant is adding a bottle of additive once in a while.
"It's not ready yet!" lol Excellent!
Great video, funny to watch, I really like the old easy to work on stuff. Please keep posting videos I'll keep watching. Take care and God bless

Steven Vanheel i own a ford. The starter solenoid is bad, so it wont fully engage the starter to the flywheel and it makes my car sound like a 2 stroke boat engine starting

Angel sweet! The key switch on my ford is going out so you have to get the key in the exact right place in order for the starter to spin otherwise it won’t work.

Gold. Thank you.
Thanks for the video. I may be splitting my ford 2000 soon to unstick the pto clutch.
Funny video, happy for owner, not too expensive!
"It ain't ready yet" Freakin hardcore man ROFL good stuff!
That sound brings old memories from our old Ford 3000 😄
Excellent content and presentation as always. That little Ford 2000 is cute although I'm sure you're glad to see the back of it. 😁
I change everything to cat elc. People always forget about the things they can’t see. Good video
Great stuff man

good job explaining things
You clean up pretty good!!!!
Great work! Did you drink that sludge water three times before deciding something was wrong?
Good thing that guy was thinking about the water flow. Had a house where the owner did not and every time it rained it drained straight into the 2 car garage. PITA! (the idiot also did the same by the 2nd front door only with the gutter piping which left a nice ice patch every single morning. )
Thanks man
Youre right about changing coolant. It doesnt matter how many run time hours it has as rust never sleeps. I always use bras plugs though.
Awesome video

Tim’s cup was hilarious!
The guy who splits my old ford tractor for me has some angle iron bolted to his concrete floor, forming a train track like arrangement for his trolly jack to run along. He puts a long ratchet strap around the tractor and then splits, it, rolling it apart on the track. To join it back togther he just cranks on the ratchet strap and it comes back together, the track meaning its perfectly aligned.
Use a brass freeze plug so it never happens again

Hayden Denard you have to be careful about mixed metal loops. Sometimes they can cause electrolysis and degrade anyway.
This speaks to me, I'm losing coolant everyday from a "frost" (welsh) plug behind the flywheel on my Datsun. I put a bunch of block stop leak in the coolant, which did improve how much it leaks, but I don't like to this what it does to the rest of my cooling system.
CLR is amazing!
I had a customer with a Pontiac tempest 2.8auto frost plug was rotted they jammed it full of stop leak took me hours to clean that guck out. I feel your pain.... BTW.... Happy mothers day!
Good morning brother.. Close the shop & take that great wife of yours out.. Wishing her a Happy Mothers Day from Newport Beach, Southern California.. Stay safe, Have fun,,,,,,,,,,, always

Word on the street is you touch kids
My dad had a ford 2000 gas. I took it for a while to try out. No power steering but no big deal as i was just going to use it to mow with a 5’ shredder. It didnt have a high low range which i think was optional so i couldnt use my box blade either as the ground speed was too fast. Went to use it one day and the clutch was stuck. We tried every trick to get it unstuck. No luck. We had to split in and since the disc was pretty worn we replaced it and the pressure plate and had the flywheel turned. I decided to keep my farmall super A with woods L59 belly mower since it is more maneuverable as i have a lot of trees and i didnt need a shredder anyway. I also replaced the water pump and removed the jerry rigged electric fuel pump (powered by constant hot from coil!) and i stalled a new mechanical pump before we sold it to dads neighbor because i didnt want it to burn to the ground. That thing was a pain in the ass to work on. I stick to old farmalls now! I also have a 1967 MF 2200 industrial loader a perkins d3.152 and shuttle shift. I have never really had to do much to it. Couple of hydro lines, ps pump, resealed the injector pump. Easy to work on!
8:30 Yea I wish I knew about that trick. When I replaced the clutch in my ford. I didnt know how to get the pilot bearing out..... so I CARVED it out. It was -13 degrees, sitting on a bed of rocks with snow and forgot I was working there and peed were I work at.... live and learn I guess
I tend to put John Deere cool-gard in all my stuff were there's no coolant filter on them, I've even heard some Ford tractor people putting it in their 1000, 600, and 10 series tractors because on some of them going porous, expensive stuff but worth it, like your tractor videos, looking forward to an International 74 or 84 series tractor's one when the day comes. 👍
hey DEBOSS, ever tried using bread to remove pilot bearings ? love the channel
Nice video.
At the end there - I was always taught to load tractors in reverse, that way most of the weight is over the tongue. If you load them front ways on the trailer, it can unload the tongue and cause the trailer tires to "toe out", which makes the trailers swerve back and forth.
@Cragified
4 жыл бұрын
Depends entirely how the tractor is loaded. If it is weighed down with dry weight it will tend to be nose heavy. If it is weighed down with chloride in the tires it will be tail heavy. Also depends if you are putting anything else on the trailer and the size of the tractor. With just this Ford 2000 the rear axle was between the trailer axles and the nose being forward meant that the load was on the tongue.
I really enjoy all the content db HD or not
12:29 lmao cheers
Another critical thing that'll kill freeze plugs is a faulty electrical system. I've had rusted to death freezeplugs from bad grounds. Electrolysis will eat them quick.
it's a good idea to change the rear engine seal while the tractor is split. Check transmission seal too.
I dunno if you do it but whenever I'm not surfacing a flywheel or pressure plate I hit all surfaces with a cookie disc to knock the glaze and surface checking off and I use a sanding block to smooth the clutch disc
Best for sealing the plug is the Permatex Indian
Yes, they make brass freeze plugs for those who store their tractors with no coolant.
Major BOO BOO "hydraulic pump drives off the fly wheel"!!! I HAD TO WATCH IT THREE TIMES to be sure I heard it right, look after the 3min mark there is a huge disc on the block. Hydraulic pump is driven by the end of the CAMSHAFT. I loved Buddy there struggling with the hood lol, flipping the other side up makes it simpler after the battery is removed. Keep up the vids but plz have correct info
Lmao Love the taste test!
white vinegar works great for flushing coolant systems.
Damn near pissed myself when I saw him pull out the timmys cup
I’ve done that split so many times on bigger ford tractors. I have a video of us splitting a ford 9700 on my channel
2:24 oh that piece of nut, LOL!
Just started the video but I will say this, I have seen freeze plugs pop out of the block 2 times. Wouldn't think it would fall out but it can happen.
Always use a water free coolant. Helps big time.
''Only you.....can prevent frozen frost plugs!''
omh, doing all that and not replacing that clutch and surfacing the flywheel is bugging the crap out of me. You are an amazing tech so I trust you, but dayum lol

coffee cup worth 5 thumbs up !!!!
Wet paper towel works too. And you don't get grease exploding in your face when you are doing it under a car in the driveway lol
Im 30 seconds in and ive fixed dozens of these its always the freeze plug rusted out
Brass freeze plugs, if at all possible.
I really like your show, tried asking a few questions but I guess it's not an option.
Do you have good heating in there for winter?
Is it equipped with a factory installed block heater ?
My fordson major had a core plug rotted out
I woulda ran a bronze or brass freeze plug as so it don't rot again
Two alternate video titles.... "How to split a tractor" and "Change your damn. Antifreeze!"
It’s behind the plate In between the plate and block there’s another freeze plug
Im suprised tou have a clean white shirt. I dont even work on stuff that often and I cant keep mine clean
Dammit now ive gotta go change my coolant
Never go full loaf
what are your views of the 4bd1t?

would you recommend changing the freeze plug when doing the clutch?

Its a cheap part, idk why you wouldn't
Don't ever say never, put a reman head on a DT 466, started in up ,ran it for ten mins., heatd a pop. Coolant pressure went away, looked externally for the problem , took the valve cover off , and low and behold a freeze plug popped out.
Somebody give Jack black a sammich!
Excellent video Rich. The old green antifreeze should be changed every 2 years max, IMHO. Glad it was a simple fix.
If I saw this last week I would’ve given you a cracked 351 Windsor
Use the Evans waterless coolant.
@machscga6238
6 жыл бұрын
jim conway Evan's coolant is great for racing applications but it's too expensive for average guys. And if any thing happens to your coolant system you can't add additives to seal radiator or heater core. Also never buy a used Truck with Evans coolant... I bought a 6.5L 1996 3500 Chevy and the previous owner had Evan's coolant in the system. The Evan's coolant doesn't expand you can open your rad/res cap at operating temperature. Well this 6.5L Diesel had a rotten cylinder head full of electrolysis, and the Evan's coolant masked the problem. I drove the truck for 10 months and then a portion of my coolant hoses blew while I was 3 hours out in the country side where I could not get Evan's coolant.... When we put normal coolant in and drove away my head gasket blew while I was out in the middle of nowhere. The Evan's coolant worked so well, it masked a major engine problem so the con man I bought the thing off of could sell it for full price... I don't blame Evan's coolant, for all I know that coolant was only swapped in a month before I bought it (really I have no idea how long that coolant was in there for, probably just long enough to sell the truck).... Never buy a used vehicle with Evan's coolant, the coolant can mask a major engine problem costing big money 💰! I use NAPA heavy duty Diesel coolant now.
thing of beauty but then i am a ford fan
Looks better without the hood ... ? Lol 👍
Did not change the rear main oil seal!!! why not...
