    Hey Sandro, I work at a Ford dealership as a detailer (I do my own business on my days off) the buffer trail/rotary holograms actually are inflicted in the factory - most of the new gen Everests and Rangers actually come covered in holograms, more than any other cars I've seen/worked on and the black is horrible, it's stupidly soft and usually comes very hazy.

  • @CarCraftAutoDetailing

    @CarCraftAutoDetailing

    That’s surprising that the factory inflicts those hologram, but thanks for sharing that info mate, and yes I’ve heard that the black in particular is super soft and swirly 🙂

    What was your opinion on Immortal vs Dynoshield? I know Xpel has tons of orange peel look and Premiumshield will yellow alot faster than others. Did you include Avery and 3M in your testing too? I was waiting for Immortal to be released but it was delayed in NZ so I ended up with Dynoshield but for future cars it will be good to know 🙂

    Hi Sandro, typically when ive used IPA I've applied about 4-5 sprays into a towel then apply to a small section, followed by buffing with a separate towel. Is there anything wrong with the primary panel prep towel becoming saturated, should you reduce the amount of panel prep as it becomes saturated or swap to a different towel?

  • @CarCraftAutoDetailing

    @CarCraftAutoDetailing

    Ай бұрын

    No I don’t think there’s any issue with the primary towel becoming saturated, I’d be more concerned with making sure to flip it clean sides as it collects dust and residue and switching your a clean one as needed.

    Another absolute banger of a video. Great information on working with PPF from a detailers perspective. I really appreciate your wisdom and humble perspective. One question about your strip wash. I like your logic about starting with an alkaline wash, followed by an acidic wash. I see that your choice in Alkaline wash is NV snow. Now, I don’t have that on my shelf, but I do have CarPro Reset as well as Descale. Would you consider that to be a formidable Alkaline/Acid combo to help strip lower quality waxes and coatings?? Would love to hear your opinions on choosing an alkaline/acid wash combo. ~Avid fan and watcher

  • @CarCraftAutoDetailing

    @CarCraftAutoDetailing

    2 ай бұрын

    Thanks again and Reset is really more of a pH neutral maintenance wash, so it would be Carpro Lift used as the alkaline detergent followed by Descale as the acid wash within Carpro’s range.

    Sandro, I hope you and yours had a wonderful Christmas and New Year's season. I had to look up on the Ford Canada website to find out if the Ranger Raptor is available here (it is) because I've never seen one in person. I HAVE seen a LOBO Raptor w 34:59 hen on vacation in Mexico 34:59 their higher trim F-150 is called LOBO. A couple of quick questions, if I may. First, did I hear correctly that the new D-Quartz coating works on both glossy paint/trim AND textured trim? If so, what a game changer! Second question: How does it compare to C-Quartz UK in terms of ease of use and cost? Thanks for another artfully executed and informative video!

    Great video. Do you think Cquartz Skin would bond to immortal given that immortal has its own coating. I don’t know how good the coating is on immortal for hydrophobic’s and if Skin would boost that.

  • @CarCraftAutoDetailing

    @CarCraftAutoDetailing

    5 ай бұрын

    Thanks Mike, and although I have no doubt that Skin or other C/DQuartz coatings would tend to perform better than Immortal’s coating and still bond to some extent, it’s more about how good that bond would be and last - that I’m still skeptical about that. I would tend to think that if the PPF was stripped of that top layer coating it would tend to allow for a greater bond, but haven’t had time to test that as yet.

    Great video Sandro, and great tip about Snow+ 1:10 in a trigger bottle, I’ll have to try that!! I have enjoyed Immortal a lot, although it isn’t my main film, the gloss/clarity/stretch/install are just fantastic. I have noticed the hydrophobics of the film alone, here in the US at least, doesn’t last more than 2-4 weeks on something that is driven regularly so I always top the film with Professional or Nova Pro (but not D.Quartz, Avi says that’s a no-go). Maybe your experience will be different. Two questions for you: 1) Do you remember what dilutions your film installer used for slip and for tack? Still dialing in my Immortal solutions 2) Off topic but regarding Hydr02 concentrate - I have a bottle of concentrate mixed 1:6 and for the life of me, I cannot get it to bead at all - it only sheets. It’s almost like the bottle is bad. I’ve noticed many others using Hydr02Lite, which I’m told is a weaker mixture (more like 1:10) and it seems to always perform very well. Should my 1:6 mixture be beading/performing better or should I just opt for the Lite version? I would think a stronger mix would work a bit better As always, fantastic video!! Really enjoyed it!

    Thanks mate and hope all is well with you Jordan. With ImmoGel we found that in the colder days 1:100 to 1.5:100 was working well for us, while once it got warmer we were using it 1.5:100 to 2:100 to give us a little extra work time. Because ImmoGel is so concerned we had to measure very precisely with syringes and we also found that using DI water changed the tack level noticeably - so depending on whether the water used use has high or low mineral content is another factor. With Hydro2 I’ve found that on small surface areas like wheels it will instantly beads, while on large car panels it takes time and even UV light exposure to get the same results- but that’s actually been my experience with all spray and rinse sealants. Maybe it’s the difference in large surface areas versus small surface areas, but it’s also why I tend to prefer these sealants on wheels/rims rather than over the whole car. One thing you could try is to treat a panel like the bonnet/hood, then pull it into direct sunlight for an hour and test the hydrophobic behaviour again, if it improves after that curing it does tend to indicate it’s a curing issue where it needs more time on larger surface areas.

    Nv Nova Evo is quite a slow curing coating and high spots - being excess coating - can still wipe away after a day or two with Evo, so that alone doesn’t mean the coating didn’t bond, it will need a good two weeks to fully cure. Yes, I’ve had Nv Boost V2 on my list to review for ages now - need to get on to it!

    @@CarCraftAutoDetailing thanks, so the carpro eraser did not remove the nv nova coating? I'll definitely just ceramic coat the car outside with no sunlight from now on. Thanks for your help!

    Sandro I really like the information on the ppf, I've personally never watched a single video involving instillation of ppf but I've been considering learning about it and trying it myself. Do you remember what they ended up doing with the edges of the ppf that was hanging off the hood on your final shot at 22:50? Also Sandro I recently applied Nova luster to a customer's car and it was the easiest and most gratifying instillation I've done. The slickness of the coating was amazing. My only gripe is that it is expensive. I also applied carpro darkisde which was very annoying to work with due it clogging my applicator and now im not sure how to get it off lol. One last thing is that I recently applied the cerakote ceramic coating to a personal vehicle and it was a very pleasant and forgiving coating to work with. It also has very nice hydrophobics. I cant speak on longevity yet however i will give you an update in the future. I always love eating food and watching your videos Sandro, thank you for the amazing content and a little refresher with the ppf instillation tips. Happy holidays brother.

    Thank you mate and wishing you and yours and Merry Christmas. The PPF edges around the bonnet were all rolled around and wrapped after they were allowed to dry. Yes Lustre is just beautifully slick and glossy - you can get it in a one litre bottle which will bring down the price. Haven’t had issues with DarkSide personally but I can understand that a clogging applicator would be annoying!

    @@CarCraftAutoDetailing Thank you for the reply Sandro, I have another question if you don't mind. How do you strip an existing wax/sealant on a customers car that didn't come off with a pretreatment of carpro lift, carpro descale, an iron remover, and degreaser? Are their any other safe methods of removing the sealant that does not involve polishing? This continues to happen to me and Im not sure how to strip them without polishing at that point.

  • @CarCraftAutoDetailing

    @joestewart8966 a alkaline based APC/degreaser will be my choice if the wax or sealant isn’t stripped - something like Carpro Multi-X at a 1:2 dilution. I’ll work panel to panel, spray it on liberally allow it to sit for a couple on mins, then wipe it in for another minute or so and rinse it off.

    I attempted my first video about 8yrs ago. Terrible camera skills, horrible voice over and no editing skills whatsoever. Almost 400 videos later, thousands of hours filming/editing and a will to get better at it, is really what has resulted in a far better end product: Hard work and dedication is really the recipe to almost all the success we achieve IMO. It’s really so nice to receive a comment like yours, I greatly appreciate it, but there are video production focused KZreadrs out there that are leagues ahead of me.

    @@CarCraftAutoDetailing 10,000 hours and beyond of mastery, but a little bit of talent goes a loooooooooong way, and you have it. This channel reminds me of another one I follow (for audio gear) by Andrew Robinson. Same vibe, but he literally was a movie director in his past (if I remember correctly). Whatever you're doing works for interior filming of vehicles. What's your favorite lens when you shoot the B reels of the cars (when you move around like on a dolly)

    @firstlast2055 thanks again, so nice to hear such enjoyment and positivity! For the walk around of the the vehicle I use a Dji gimbal holding my Canon R6 with a 15-35 wide angle - it’s a tight area so a wide angle is needed. But when I can go out a little further out I love my Canon 28-70 it’s my favourite all round lens.

    A note, the products being used can't be clearly seen on the dark blue background on black letters and should have been with white letters instead, it was hard to read. Nice bottle flip after your partner John gave you the cue "recording" 😜 That's superb, seeing more collaborative work between different Detailing crafts. I love The Last Details Final Finish 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼 Just like with PPF installation, you can coat a vehicle with the minimum, at least wash and decontamination and not necessarily paint enhance nor paint correct a vehicle. Yes, it's awkward when you see this generation not able to solve/handle basic skills and using/excercising their brain being manually creative like they are doing with just electronics and forgetting to excercise and you see them with bad postures and lots of back and neck issues 🤔🤦‍♂️
