Ford Focus Rear Brake Pad Replacement MK1 no extra tools needed

Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары

The steps in this guide are used to replace the brake pads on all Ford in Europe from 1998 to 2004 and by Ford in North America from 1999 to 2007.
Whenever working on your car's brakes and suspension, work on one side at a time. Keep the other side completely assembled so that you can reference it at any time.
Never drive a car if the brakes on one side only are changed, because the car will "pull" to one side.

For some reason on my breaks there is so much tension on the handbrake cable but not the actual cable the sheathing around it, it makes it so I can’t get the caliper over the pads

Hi. New brakes are thicker than old . How do you get the plunger/cilinder to go back. Just pressing does not work.

Thank you for the video! My car have the following issue:The hand brake does not work on right wheel. The cable seems to be OK, is moving the lever, but the brake piston is not moving. When I step the brake pedal, is working. So, can be adjusted somehow?

It could be that your break cable is not tight enough. You need to remove your Focus centre console near the handbrake lever. Then you'll see a nut attached to a threaded spindle on the driver's side of the handbrake. Get on it with the 10mm deep socket and start tightening. Put your fingers under the handbrake cable that's exposed behind the lever. Then you’ll feel how loose it is. When it starts putting pressure on your finger, you've probably got it tight enough, or close.
