If you didn't say that you could pull the pipe out at 16:30, i would've been down 150 quid now, as my mechanic said the only way is to buy a new hose with a new connector. :)) This way i managed to change only the connector. Thanks!

Thinks it’s called a pipe flairing kit or something along those lines do you know if you could get away with just changing the o rings on the fitting rather then cutting and replacing?

You have to cut as it's internally locked.

Since I released this video the fittings and their product code have miraculously disappeared from everywhere on the internet, even online genuine ford dealer websites. Expensive Complete hose assemblies that have been redesigned to be non repairable on the other hand have popped up everywhere.

Would it not have been more cost effective to just purchase the whole new high pressure hose? Considering you can get a Mackay replacement one for $60. You would have saved time as well

@TerryJonesPrinterRepairs if that's the case, how long did the job take for you to complete? Then how much were parts and how long was the car unusable for? Taking all these into account, it would have been cheaper, quicker, and more convenient to just buy the whole hose. A very different situation if it was a difficult to source part or a very expensive part.

I wish I had this mechanic as my surgeon

you hit the pipe. You can throw it in the trash. The oil will flow there

Not a very good mechanic are you? Yet 2 years Later here we are, perfectly sealed working hose perfectly better than new with a better type of O ring in the Coupler Fitting. Go back, watch the video, learn how the fitting works and see if you can educate yourself as to why your comment is wrong.

That's even more work than to just replace the line! Also you need to wear some gloves !
