I’ve owned a 2020 Defender first edition, A 2023 Defender 30th anniversary edition and a 2023 Bronco Outer Banks with the 6 cylinder & Sasquatch package. The engine and transmission of the Bronco are superior to the Defender. The transmission does a great job of keeping you in the right gear and torque is always on demand. It actually feels sportier than the Defender. The Bronco is roughly 500lbs lighter…. The Defender is a tremendous vehicle and worth the money if you only have one car and value luxury and comfort. The fixed roof is the major point of difference. It’s quiet and the cabin volume is more pleasant at highway speed. That being said, the Bronco is certainly livable at highway speeds. The electronics and technology on the Bronco are superior to the Defender. The screen, gauges, and capabilities are fantastic. On the Defender the tech is fine, but not class leading.

Why would you guys even make a comparison between them both? You're already biased towards the bronco to begin with. Been on both and let me tell you from a Defender owner who actually does some crazy trails with it. No way the Bronco feels roomier than the Defender. I've fit my whole fam of 8 with my 7 seater (yup, thats right, 8 in a 7 seater) Taken them camping to some really remote areas including some with black diamond trais. Way better safety ratings, you can actually find rollover vids and crash vids on it and holds up extremely well. Defender drives SOOOOOO much better. Taken it cross country from Cali to Massachusetts, great road trip vehicle. Absolutely no issues with the 42k miles i have on it now, (bought it new). And handles most of everything you throw at it off road (change tires, you can fit 18s and 35s pretty easily unlike what other on youtube have said and only costs about $300 in mods, and learn the 4x4 system properly). Will basically do most trails broncos owners will do as well. Price? Well with the mark up those broncos are getting, you're basically paying defender prices. So with more to say but not enough energy to type it up. True if you want to mod it and build a great rockcrawler without caring about anything else, get a bronco. Want an great all around vehicle? Don't descredit the Defender without trying it out.

I don't trust the Defender to get me where I'm going. Not great Quality Control.

The land rover line has always had great ideas for their products but more often than not fall short in execution. The result is higher maintenance cost and less reliability . Besides that the Bronco is home grown.

Bronco all day. Money for one, but I also like the versatility and the ability to upgrade and modify the Bronco. Oh and I am a Ford guy!
