Thanks man! Glad you enjoy my videos :)
My #1 conceptual Brazilian Jiu Jitsu tip? Many have benefitted from what I consider to be my number one guard tip: never let someone grab your head. Well, I have an equally important concept for your guard passing. Never let someone put their feet on you. All a guard is, is just grips you take with your feet. Every guard is like this. Every guard in jiu jitsu there is, is determined by how you position your feet. Either using the instep of your foot as a hook, or using the flat of your foot as a frame. When passing, nearly everyone just jumps right in and lets their partner put their feet on them, and then they work towards getting the feet off, so they can then pass the knees. But why let your opponent establish a guard/grips in the first place? So, try this the next time you’re passing guard: Focus on not letting your training partner put their feet on you, more so than on the pass itself. If you focus on this, the pass will come. If you let your partner grip instead, and let them determine how they grip, you are playing into their game. Even if they do put their feet on you, focus on getting their feet off you. I’m telling you, this is a game changer! All my students from the littlest of kids, to the older kids class, to the adult class are focusing on this right now. The difference it has made is HUGE. Night and day. I’m not exaggerating. Understanding objectives is a lot easier than memorizing techniques. Not only that, but understanding the objectives will also help you better understand and better execute the techniques themselves. This is one of the many game changing concepts/objectives I’m including in my Jiu Jitsu Theory course, which I believe will change the way people think about Jiu Jitsu. I’m excited to get that out to everyone. All my future weekly emails will look just like this. Quick and easy free BJJ knowledge. Primarily conceptual. So with that said, thanks for sticking around until the end of the email and I’ll cya next time! Jordan This is from my last weeks news letter. So much detail; thanks for taking the time to find extra footage to compare and contrast. As a beginner, it's almost too much, so I try to take one big lesson. For this video it is "make sure your frames are facing your opponent." Thanks Jordan! *Edit- to answer your question, 20 years of traditional Karate.

Been watching your videos for about a year now and I love your content. This video especially when you pause and ask questions. Not only are you showing and explaining what you're doing but you are having your viewers think which, in turn will just help them with their overall jiu jitsu. Going for my third competition later this month and hopefully going to get my first comp win! Oh and I did golf and baseball before jiu jitsu. Many moons ago. Lol.
Keep this great content coming, Jordan!!!! It's highly appreciated! And answering you question about sports background.. I did several different martial arts from 12 to 16 years old, until I discovered BJJ, that I trained from 16 to 18 years old.
