No, the movie was not stolen or deleted in 2002. No, there is no movie that was lost that still needs to be found. They only had about 7 minutes of animation completed before it was scrapped and rehauled entirely around late 2004. There are reports of the FBI investigating a "break-in" in late 2002, however whatever was reported to be stolen wasn't actually gone. The same animation would keep being shown to investors even as late as 2005 and every model was still in the servers around that time as well. While this is still horrible, I love how most of the finished animations seems to actually have some care put into them. Like they're actually animated like cartoon characters instead of looking like a bunch of characters from a rejected xbox kinect game.

This is an utterly historic day for obscure and lost animation/film!

The storyboard looks better than the actual movie 💀💀😭😭 I think it would look better if it was made in 2D

I know workprints are supposed to show a rough cut of a movie but Jesus Christ this just looks *ROUGH* every time they have to show something non-animated. That said... holy shit the difference between the animation here and the 2012 is night and day! I'm not gonna say that it's mindblowing CG animation but you can tell it has more *LIFE* to it compared to how _lifeless_ the final product looks. It's honestly ironic, really, that if Foodfight came out when it was supposed to and looked the way it was supposed to look, we could've gotten a 2000s 3D movie that honestly would've aged better a lot better than you'd expect.

I think with the amount of Foodfight Lost Media Footage and content relating to it popping up (The Junior Novel getting scanned, this work print, and the incredible Documentary) I think we might have one of the biggest Lost Media finds we have ever had legitimately since the Wicked Witch of the West Episode of Sesame Street got leaked...Oh yeah, I'm going there.

Similarly, Brand X was going to be defeated by a sprinkler-made flood, not by a non-sensical storm. That and the water machine were changed presumably because the animators couldn't render water well.

Honestly, they probably should have just released this. Remember when Evangelion ran out of money, and both the finale and End of Evangelion ended with frames of hand-drawn storyboards, random live-action footage, and hand-written death threats sent to the director? If they could do it there, why not with Food Fight?

They didn't 'run out of money.' That's a myth that's spread around the English speaking internet. Nobody has ever talked about running out of money and if anything Evas problem was time constraints caused from having to scrap an episode part way through production.

Always fun seeing a work in progress just for how it shows what was finished and what wasn't. Ironically some of the scrapped animation and placeholder voices look and sound better than the final, while other parts are identical, and we can literally see which sponsors dropped out after seeing this since their imagery and characters are present here but crudely replaced in the final.

I have been waiting for this moment since 2016. Thank you for releasing this publicly for us people who are in the lost media community!

44:15 It's good to know the Marketropolis song wasn't a cover of La Marseillaise originally. Back then, the Casablanca reference was more subtle, fit more in line to the supermarket theme of the movie's world (as it was a pre-existing commercial jingle), and was less offensive to French people.

I don't think he had any direct input in the movie aside from producing and hiring Paul W. S. Anderson to direct. Plus, John Tobias and Ed Boon were heavily involved in the production to be sure the first movie wouldn't be a disaster.

My god, this is incredible. So much funkier and crustier than I could have ever imagined. I especially love the T-Posed models slapped all over blurry stock photos, like literally was aprobs thrown together the night before the investor presentation during a coke binge. The LITERAL Ps1 nightmare models of the california raisins. Am I dreaming? Pinch me Also, honestly enjoying hearing the table read audio with Wayne Brady and some of the proto voice actors, at the very least you can tell they're enjoying THIS version of the script??? Or something?? Better than all the horrible director/producer Daredevil Dan blaccent clips I've seen before this. ALSO, actually ENJOYED the legit Foodfight bar brawl scene @ 18:30 it's well storyboarded and well written, actually some clever lines.

The basis for this workprint and the other unfinished scenes could be implemented as a reanimation collab maybe? One can hope tbh

it took seeing the storyboards for me to finally connect dex to sam from sam and max in my mind. because the entire movie all i see a dead lifeless golden retriever face on a realistic human body, its so far from the charisma that sam has, despite both being dogtectives that wear suits with hats. but they’re clearly going for charisma, they got sheen before he went nuts, they have him spouting cheesy one liners puns and movie references, and he goes from detective to club owner, but yet I am NOT CHARMED. i dont think anyone has mentioned anything about characters or motivations and the investment thereof because everyone watching is distracted by the constant noise both in sound and visuals, and then Dan comes on screen and you just say “I’m done paying attention” and then you say “what the fuck is happening?”

I think we might have to consider the reality that Foodfight was a scam to get investors to pay money for a project with no hope of being good. The initial investment probably went up someone's nose and after a decade of people probably shaking him for the money or a finished product he shat out the project for less than what Terminal Montage makes in a month.

Potentially a mediocre-at-best movie with a cast of characters that people genuinely enjoy. Rendered schlock meant to imprint brands onto children, looked back somewhat fondly by a generation as a funny moment in their lives. Not... what it eventually became...

It's quitz amazing how every time they switch to 2D storyboards, the characters look 20 times better. These are still pretty mediocre designs but they look truly horrendous in 3D.
