Well wait a second now, it wasn't just some pot. 1st of all, if you're ok with pot then you should be ok with any drug (@ least any drug that's not made in a lab)... but I'm not gonna be at all surprised if you think other drugs "are bad". More importantly to this situation tho, they said the baby had weed in her system at birth (then referred to her having "drugs" in her system), but the mom didn't lose her kids for that- or if she did, she got em back at some point. They said the kids were taken after an incident where she was "asleep" & something happened to the kids. I think she said they got outside or something but she didn't sound too sure herself. My point is that sounds like there was more going on than the mom smoking weed for prenatal nausea. Also, she gaave up her kids. GAVE THEM UP for cps to adopt out!!! If it WAS just a little pot, why wouldn't she just stop smoking & get her kids back? Instead she said "fine, take em". I can't even wrap my head around that!

@@_HimToo Sometimes parents are convinced that their children will be better off somewhere more stable. That’s a lot different from saying, “Whatever. Take ‘em.” Struggling people should be able to trust the system. They are pressured to give up children every day, with people insisting the children will be better off. I’ve seen these parents devastated, in these cases.

There is never a reason for a big adult to raise your hand to a child.... Those words have always stuck in my head.. My father was good to me too in person and as a young child. Mother was abusive and he had to leave. The thing with dad though, he let his fears take over. When he should have removed us when mom moved a felon into our home. He didn't even ask to take me out for visitation and this set me up for abuse. He later did penance for this act by caring for my young children. It was traumatizing though seeing how badly he and his brother wanted to minimize the role mom played in our abuse.

@@fallenangel1799 Thank you for sharing this. It would be sadder if I wasn't lucky enough to have family rescue me, give me a strong shoulder to cry on and reinforce that what happened was wrong. Hold me up and give me the opportunity to fight my abusers in court. It gave me the opportunity to stand up in court and prove to my abusers, that yes, I can hurt them back, legally, if not physically. I am sure, my life would be very different if not for that opportunity. Even though we constantly see these kind of criminals tossed back into our streets. Have to endure our children's angry faces when we know we have to try to manipulate their activities to protect them from all of the pedos out there. It is great to be a good father. It is award winning to pass that love and understanding down to other men. My father did not believe physical violence was justifiable either. He taught us to develop a concious and to think about the reprocussions of our actions. Our mother did not agree and tormented him regularly to hit us for anything she could think of. This behavior, as well as her violence against him, led to their divorce. Sadly, dad was not wise enough to think she would find a man who would do her bidding without her having to bully him into it. This is the state of many whose misplaced compassion enable women like my mother to wreck havoc in our society. Too many times I had to correct dad when he wanted to ignore the past to act out his fairytale with her, which was nothing like how he envisioned it in his head because mom wanted a man to use and dad didn't want to fail in his attempts to change her. It truly is bizzarre, but I hope gives some insight into the how and why these disasters come into play. It also explains how even I fell into a bad relationship one time and let my own stubborness and compassion trip me up for awhile. Why Behavioral Therapy is important for teens who were exposed to an abusive homelife. We are taught a mindset at a young age and without a good filter? Many of us will not recognize our defects in logic until it is a problem. So far, my sons seem to be doing well. I must depend on their wives to make sure they stay that way. To let me know otherwise. I have difficult days and a constant reminder from a spinal cord injury from my abuser to motivate me to get out there and work with young children. That is a rough job because I had to speak up too often to these women, sometimes parents, how hitting kids leads to domestic violence, an enabler or someone who chooses to endure domestic violence. Not all parents but it does imprint our acceptence and/or our minimizing the damage this behavior has on our society. I also point out to them that if they dared to act out like that with an adult? They could be incarcerated. How can you justify the same act against a child? Honestly? It was good to have the opportunity to say that. It was frustrating though knowing these threats were coming out of the mouths of educated, Child Development Preschool Teachers. Please, talk to your children and talk to their teachers, on the sly. Many will lie about their true views on children's discipline in a controlled interview. Any school who employs teachers with this viewpoint, is a danger to your children. This view will impact how much they will tolerate from other children and parents. You do not want your children being influenced by teachers who reject their education in regards to violence against children I do now volunteer with some great teachers. For me? I find my peace in the laughter of children. Knowing their time with me is not a stressful one. It helps me a lot in preserving the good memories of my childhood and blocking out the bad ones. It brings me joy too, repaying those families in my childhood whose behaviors contradicted the lies being repeated to me at home. My brother and I did enjoy making them mad when we contradicted them. It did help us a lot I think to endure the punishment they inflicted on us. The best punishment I could inflict upon my mother was remove myself from her control and know she had to wash her own dishes, do her own laundry and her husband now beat on her and not me any longer. That burn in her eyes years later when I kicked her out of my house and told her I would have her arrested if she didn't leave was the victory every abused child deserves. It was wrong of my father to tempt me by sneaking my mother into my house. I had that one moment to think about how I was going to pay her back for all of the lies and pain she forced on to me. Fortunately I had my children huddled out of site to remind me, who I was, not who they both held some guilt into trying to mold me into being. Dad brought her over. I would never ask her to. I know my limits. I do not tempt myself into acts of violence. Sadly, I have used law enforcement to deal with violent people. Only because our laws protect criminals and only rarely their victims. I wish I didn't have to put them into these situations is all. Many are good people who chose to help good people, stay good. Take good care. We have a duty to support those who are fighting against child abuse and creating laws to keep child abusers off of our streets. We have all suffered greatly from our ignorance regarding the law. How judges have behaved in regards to child abuse. The Probation Boards that have defied judges and juries by early releasing violent criminals into our neighborhoods while we ignorantly kiss our children goodbye sending them out into communities where there are too many adults hunting for children. This is our fault too. Pretending that children do not need our involvement to ensure their safety growing up. Teachers can see at an early age which children are at risk. However, parents are given too much authority to prevent us from helping these children. Support for CPS, it's need for funding and oversite is as great as it has always been.

My great niece noticed bruising on her five-week-old baby. When I spoke with her about it, she told me she had taken pictures for the doctor. She was worried that the baby might have blood problems since she was taken early because of too much blood in the umbilical cord (hypoxia). She showed the doctor pictures of the baby the next week and asked if he could order some blood work. The baby was also x-rayed at Children's Hospital when she went for blood tests. It was found that the baby had 2 broken ribs and 2 fractures in her arm. My niece was devastated. The baby never cried or fussed about anything unless she was hungry, and there were no visual signs beside the bruising. The next thing that happens is the boyfriend (baby's dad) admits to the hospital that he thinks he might have broken the baby's arm while dressing her. My niece had never heard this story before from him. She never saw anything concerning about the baby's dad. I ended up receiving a call from social services to take custody of the baby or it would go to foster care. I had to go to Children's Hospital and take my niece's 8 week old baby girl from her arms while she was crying and hysterical. Why would my niece take the baby to the doctor with pictures of bruises and dates if she was guilty of harming her baby? Even the baby's pediatrician told Social Service this and agreed to testify. They wouldn't even allow my niece to stay at my home with the baby. This is a crucial bonding period for the baby. It took 7 months for my niece to get cusody back. Nothing at all happened to the boyfriend. We did everything we could to get him convicted... but nope. I hear of this situation a lot. As a result, parents are afraid to take their children to the hospital when they get hurt playing. They end up losing their child for months and their life is turned upside down. It resulted in PTSD in my niece. If her now toddler gets a bruise, my niece becomes hysterical because she's afraid she will lose her daughter. Children's Services is just a ridiculous department. I don't even want to get started on their failure.

That is one thing that my mom used to say all the time... "you never know who will end up raising you..." also she would say that "no one can love your kid like you," meaning, even if someone had more money than you, it was not the most important thing. Love was the most important thing, and you could never be too sure of how someone else would treat your child. I was a teen mother and I remember a time when things were so overwhelming, and I truly didn't know how I would make it to the next day. I recall having a conversation with my gma and she offered to raise my son while I took a step back and basically caught my breath. I remember how that option seemed so freeing and absolutely tempting, but then I thought about my youth and how I yearned for my absentee mother, and I couldn't imagine one day having to explain to my son, why I walked away even if it was just for a moment. I remembered feeling so abandoned and feeling so alone although I was surrounded by my siblings, cousins, and other family members, it was just not the same as having my mother there constantly. I know that this mother feels so guilty and it's truly unfair! She was trying to make sure that all of her kids had the best possible chances in life and these monsters robbed this Angel of her very life. What I really don't understand is, why did they go through with all the things needed in order to adopt if they were not capable of dealing with children? There is nothing in the world that a freaking three-year-old could ever do to deserve to be beaten to death. Even if the child isn't your own blood relative, how could they hit this baby over and over again and had no empathy for her pain and suffering? How did they make it through all the years of raising their biological children, but then become so overwhelmed by a three-year-old baby that they had to literally beat her to death? Please somebody make this make sense! Rest In Eternity Victoria! No one can ever hurt you again! Creator, please comfort this mother and the family and friends affected by this Angel's death!!! Also, please send them peace and positive vibes!!!

I called the store to return the movie and they refused it. The judge ordered a break and told me to go home and get the game! Haha I did, gave it to him and he he said thank you case settled! I was a foster child coming up too. If someone asked me what is the worst time in life that I remember? It would be the day that the social worker took me and my siblings from my parents and split us up by twos. In the first foster home, the lady was so evil and mean to me and my baby sister. She made us say in a room all day long with no tv or anything. Doing that gave us time to just sit and think of our family who we were close to and all we knew. I remember crying all of the time and the lady would hit us if we cried and would say nasty mean things about my mother. We were only removed because we had a house fire. I believe the system could've helped us find another home with our parents and not split up a family. This caused a lot of problems with my family to this day. My point is, that social workers need to be very careful about where they place these foster children. Some of the foster parents are pure evil and have problems of their own as well. Be sure that they can also handle taking care of other people's children in the way that they should be taken care of.

I was rooting so hard for Ariele in that season. Her story of fostering so many children, along with her own, hit me hard in the feels. To hear that she murdered one of those precious babies who trusted her and thought she was safe in Ariele's home is just heart wrenching. Foster children are at the mercy of a super f'ed up system and are at such a massive disadvantage from jump. They put their little (and big) lives and trust into a stranger's hands and have to deal with whatever comes their way. This system is so broken here in the US. My sister fostered an 8 month old boy for a few years while our family had to wait through a whole paternity process take place. 4 fathers came out of the blue and 3 of the 4 said if they were the father, my sister would lose her boy. Thankfully, none were and he is now 9 and is one of us 100% today! She then adopted his step brother (at birth, post the NICU). He is 8 and is another blessing to our family. Both have significant behavioral challenges from being born addicted to substances but my sister and bro-in-law are phenomenal parents who are fully dedicated to their growth and well being.

Thank God for people like your sis and her husband!!! They are the kind of loving people who should be foster parents! I don't understand why people like her are even parents, let alone foster parents. Why? If she hated this child, which she clearly did then why did she even want to be her foster mom?! And they were going to adopt this baby child?!! It's sickening!!! I pray for the children. It's so hard to not hate this woman and her husband.

Because if someone reported anything first outcry is for race. People walk on eggshells around that topic. I have seen many whites raising blacks or even mixed kids and their grandparents coming along with it example Obama. But if it's other way round, it never happens for that matter, and secondly, if that happens somehow the kid is always at the receiving end of the family. The mentality and thought process that you can hurt them as a racial justice is always at the bakery of mind of most. Which is appalling. A

I lived in an abusive home too, except the one abusing me was my own father. We had CPS called on us twice and they did absolutely nothing because he put on a good act and the abuse was mostly (not entirely) psychological. I begged to be taken out of my home and placed in foster care. Instead I was left abandoned with a man who abused me in ways I'm still struggling with 15 years later. There are two sides to every coin.

While I’m not a user nor a fan of marijuana, I’m not sure a newborn who’s found to have minor traces of said substance within their system as the only cause of concern should automatically be considered legal justifiable grounds for separating the child from their mother. That’s an extremely drastic decision for which could likely place the child at far greater risk of danger as a ward of the state placed into the hands of strangers within our broken foster care system. Wouldn’t allowing the mother & child to leave the hospital together upon the conditions of a temporary court order that requires mandatory outpatient services such as parenting classes in conjunction with random drug testing and monitoring by children’s social services agency as a means to demonstrate to the court a safe home environment be a more appropriate response by the State in such a situation?
