I don’t think she knew. By the sound of it, she’s no longer with him. The one officer referred to her as “his wife at the time” , when he mentioned that he had a Hard Rock shirt that she wasn’t familiar with. It was a gift from Patty. He most likely had already manipulated the wife into believing that patty was a coworker who was into him but he wasn’t interested. I think it’s his friend that’s involved. His friend was his alibi and initially they both stated the exact same thing when questioned.

If his coworker is reading these he should immediately get a lawyer and ask for a plea deal/ light to no punishment for info to solve the case. Anyone involved w helping him lie still has a small window to get out of this but it's closing. Do not go down with him. Help the detectives. Can you imagine the guilt if he murders again and you could have stopped it. If you helped him please please go to detectives now before you get pulled in to it further. Patti Adkins was killed not long after she got into that car. Her murder was premeditated, obviously the other work colleague with her boyfriend is the accomplice and alibi to her murder. I wish they did more in the beginning, like track where he and his coworkers phone’s pinged, and then organized search parties along those areas. Patti disappeared Friday, June 29, 2001. She still has not been found and no one was arrested. Surely someone knows something. Hopefully this case will be resolved and whoever is guilty will be prosecuted. 🙏🙏

A competent police force would have wrapped this up years ago. The fake boyfriend obviously did it. They should have sent what they had to the grand jury. They should have prosecuted the boyfriend. The lying and the money were enough. We have seen countless cold cases where everything everyone knew was correct, but the prosecuters simply failed to bring charges.

@johndavis9432 let me make this clear, if any of what you said was true, the boyfriend would be in prison. I suggest you research the facts of the case before blindly providing cover fire for incompetence. I can assure you that the only reason he is not in jail is because of the early mistakes that were made. The tired line of we need a body is old. You don't need a body for a conviction. They should have charged him with lying and obstruction of justice and start there.

@@SgtWaters How could they even charge him with that? That can't prove he even lied about Burger King. There is nothing beyond words of others saying they had a relationship. There is no diary, no pictures, no videos of them together. What mistakes did they make? I would love to know. They found fricking cat hair in the back of a pick up and matched them to her cat. You know nothing about this case. The family doesn't place blame on the police or prosecutors. I can assure you you don't know anyting. Yes people have been convicted without a body, but they had more evidence than a cat hair. Also, it is still very very rare that you convict someone without a body. You act like it happens everyday.

The poor woman. I’m impressed she was able to save ups $90,000. She must’ve been very responsible other than her choice in men. I’m 62 years old with a high paying job and I’ve only recently been able to save up around $90,000.

This man is disgusting. He romanced her into giving him money then killed her so he wouldn’t have to pay her back. Was his wife involved? Was she involved from the beginning, at the murder, or as part of the coverup?

This happened long ago. Why wasn’t this solved ??? It’s obvious who killed her. !! What is taking so long ??? This is too frustrating. He is hiding behind his lawyer. !!

Wonder if she was pregnant? She wanted to move out to the country and children. That's a better motive than paying back 💰.

Unless an autopsy was denied from being performed, the autopsy would have shown if she was pregnant and I’m sure police would consider that a motive and go from there.

I believe the investigators need to take the advice of prosecuting attorney and go for it. She’s been gone for 15 years. Not much more evidence will be found after this time. Let the jury decide. At least they can say they tried instead of this man just going scott free. They owe it to Patty’s daughter, if no one else! She’s innocent in all this.

I don’t like that the wife was so calm about everything like Anna Garcia said if I would’ve been called up at 3am being told that my husband has been having an affair he’s planning on leaving me and he’s got $90k of her money and that they were supposed to go on a romantic rendezvous together but she’s nowhere to be found since they were supposed to go on that trip I’d be the one in jail lol I think the wife knew about everything and she was getting the money as well and the carpool guy knows what happened; I think a lot of people knew what was going on with their affair and a lot of people know what actually happened to Patti;they need to come forward and let Patti’s family give her a proper goodbye

They were supposed to go to Canada, he said he didn't go anywhere with her, which obviously means he didn't bc their passports would've been checked at the border. There would've been records of it. It's easy to say you didn't go anywhere when there isn't much proof that you did.

The police in this case seemed to have done a lazy investigation. Did they not check any video cameras? I would think there were some at their place of employment or even Burger King. It seems they just asked a couple of questions and scratched their heads.

What is with women giving these nasty men money? My mom is in her 60s and gave her handyman thousands of dollars and he clearly had no interest in her romantically. She's now "broke" and applied for state assistance to give her money for fruits and veg from a farmer's market. I cannot understand it.

First of all…the “doctor” in this episode is a disgrace to the medical profession AND the clergy!!! She knew what she was doing was wrong. Because of her greed and self righteousness, people died. I was shocked that she only received 14 yrs in prison. It should have been longer because of the deaths that she caused prematurely. When people have cancer…obviously they are devastated and are looking for anything to be cancer free…..any miracle. I am shocked that TBN had her on their channel touting a “cure all” for cancer without fact checking. They should be held accountable as well. Well…if and or when this “doctor” gets cancer…just give her some of her “miracle cure”. See how she does with that! 🙏 for all the victims and their families.

I'm just trying to understand the visual of the segment. It kept showing a black hand and man on the assembly line her daughter half black so it wouldn't be a stretch but the man their investigating is white. It might not of been him it might of been his wife and he's covering for her. This is sad that this family has to suffer not knowing what happened to their loved ones. Someone knows something and no one should die because of another person telling you lies.

The child was born before she got involved with a white married man at her job. She was already a single mother.

This is heart wrenching

Many times there have been stories about Patti Atkins. Don't they think it may have been possible that she was killed by carbon monoxide by laying in the back of that truck with a cover over the bed. She apparently had to be back there for awhile. It was said before that the guy she was going away with had to take a co-worker home because they rode together to work. She may have been already dead when he finally stopped the truck to get her out of the back, he panicked and then hid her body to keep his wife from finding out about his plan to cheat on her.

That actually makes a lot of sense. My friends and I drove across country in my Toyota long bed pickup, and took turns sleeping in the back. It was summer though and we weren't covered up. There was a tonneau cover over the truck though. I have looked back on that and I can't believe we made it alive.

He wouldn't get in trouble for her accidentally dying from carbon monoxide poisoning. When they made the choice to get into the back of the truck. But he doesn't seem remotely innocent.

There was a guy that hung with us nda hood. Several times when I was about to go home, he'd say only to me "I'll meet you around the corner and take ya home. After 2/3 times I decided to check out his pack. " A violent sexual predator " was what I read. Never spoke to him again. Girls, please be aware. And control yourself. Leave other women's husband's alone. If he wants to be divorced, he would be divorced.
