Ya gotta catch that sunshine! Well done finding some this time of year. Perhaps, frighteningly, Spring will come stupidly early. The climate is spiralling, it's getting hard to plan trips with the disasters - Yeah Lismore (where I live) has been blessed - with the massive storms almost getting here and then taking off to the North and just missing us - but Poor Bill and the Gold Coast/Brisbane crew have copped it. That Castle was incredible! Glad you didn't die (of the hunger thing 😆) - Cheers Pete.

Glad to hear you avoided the big rain mate, yeah Bill etc seem to have taken the brunt of it. I don't like to wish my time away, there is seldom enough of it... but a warm dry spring would sure be appreciated right now... is only gonna get colder here first though. Arundel Castle is quite magnificent. The lunch I ended up catching with my mate was far nicer than the breakfast would have been... and it was a good spin on the bike, so overall a win 🏆 😁

That was a wet ride for sure. The castle is impressive and so is all the old architecture in that town.

It really is so much more fun offroading on a Enduro bike, but like you say its just how much you use it. If its just sat there it gets fustrating when you dont have time to use it. But if you don't have it there then you miss it and dream of riding one again....I felt that with the ride on the Fantic at the ABR...loved it and the most fun I had on a bike that weekend.1st world problems a!

Mate feel for you been there on more than one Occasion . The ride back always fells like a longer one . But one thing the ride on the bike always clears the head so miles of smiles . 😊😊

Awww mate, gutted for you ! Just goes to show that getting up early isn't ALWAYS a good idea. Quite a few places seem to open at lunch time these days. People must be earning too much money and are able to get away with it 🤷‍♂ Ruby noticed that that pub sold 'Doggie ice cream'. She is now desperate to try some. Next time you are there, could you check to see if they sell it in 'sossidge" flavour ? If so, she says she'll be over to England like a shot 😂 It's a shame that your soggy ride was in vain Pete but it was at least very scenic. I'm sure you ended up with a nice lunch later in the day ! Hey Garry, hope you are feeling a bit more human again now? Haha... yeah, I should have checked their opening hours... I went down there again today to meet up with Phil480 and it was open and had a nice lunch, great customer service too 🙂 Haha.. I'll try to ask 😀 Any excuse to ride is good for me... and yup, lunch hit the mark and as a bonus, got to hang out with a couple of mates for it too! 🙂

Forgot to reply-yeah, most people in northern states hang it up for the winter. If it warms up an the roads are dry, people will sneak out for a ride. But in general, the weather is too cold or bad for anyone to want to ride. It can be dangerous enough in 4 wheeled vehicles, let alone motorcycles. Generally I think there’s a cultural difference, too, it seems like you guys accept riding in lousy weather, where we’re more inclined to wait for the nice days.

@@markfortin8286 If we waited for just nice days to ride in the UK, we'd never get out on our bikes!😀Hahaha 😀we are lucky though that our winters are not mega cold, and we don't get a lot of snow normally down south at least. A lot of UK riders do hang up their bike kit for the colder months, but I just can't cope with out getting some bike time... "Vivendi causa mea!"

Super jealous, been clearing snow for last 4 days. Latitude, eh. Another entertaining vid, looking forward to more

It really is, I was briefly thinking about spending money on the suspension, but the more I ride it, the more I appreciate its charm as is 🙂👍

Aye, gotta make the most of the funshine when it shines through the wintery greyness... although as you saw, it got pretty grey in parts of the vid! 😀 Hahaha... what is this "clean" you speak of? 😀 I know right.... I should be allowed to let everything dangle in the breeze! 😛Hahaha By missing out on breaky, I did get some awesome fried chicken and a popcorn milkshake instead, so all was not lost. I can imagine being a highways agency responder it is an utter mare this time of year? You know me RB, bike time is bike time... no matter the weather... I like to think of it as a protective layer of dirt stopping the salty badness getting to my bike! 😀@@TheRhythmicBiker I think the place is called Slim Chicken or somit like that, is a chain, but is new to my town, not had it before. It must put you off playing bikes a bit being out on the roads all the time for work too. I sit in an office reception for 12hrs at a time... worked 72hrs this week, same next week too.... but got some time off coming which I am looking forward to. I do try not to road ride when the salt is down so much, so the Beta will be getting lots of play time soon! 😀 Roll on the spring thou hey, roll on the spring...

That would be disappointing with all the closures but you handled it well.👍

Was -5° on my way home from work this morning, was very glad to be in the van LOL Yeah, belly filled with chicken for lunch with a couple of mates, so it worked out better than a fry up anyways 😋

I ended up selling my Husaberg as I was lucky to ride it once a year. Must have been frustrating seeing everywhere shut. Especially when you are hungry.

Think of this way if you only have an adventure bike for off-road then you'll push yourself to get better with it. If you'd gone round the otherside of the water theres an alright cafe in the arcade

There is a limit to that though, a bike too tall and heavy massively restricts the type of green lanes I can safely play on... If I was going to be the next Dakar rider, then I'd agree, but I only trail ride for fun, so want to be able to enjoy the time on them and the Beta allows me to do that... now if Aprilia brings out a 457cc Tuareg or one of the other manufacturers brings out a viable dualsport that can do the ADV stuff, then I can see a reason to sell the Beta. Aye, Littlehampton has a few good cafes on the east side, and Chippys, although the amusement park has recently had a big fire, so no idea what is left of it now?. but I hate the ride round to it from the west beach... in my yoof on my 50/125 I'd have just ridden across the footbridge, but am a responsible adult (LOL) now 😀

Mate that weather is exactly what we've had for the last... oh 100 years. Well more like 6-8 weeks in reality but anyway I'm well over it need some proper sunshine! Nice bike that I like it a lot, but bummer that Moe's Family Feedbag was closed and not even any nudes 😭 world has gone to pot mate

The little Suzuki has really surprised me, I knew it'd be fun, but hadn't expected it to be so much so... it does fit me and my little legs well though, and does so without upsetting the handling... love it Haha... yeah, so unfair they won't let me run around in my birthday suit in freezing temperatures... I mean, who'd not want to see that??? Hahaha 😆

Yeah don't get rid of the Beta. I am really missing my dirt bike. The T7 is definitely a great medium but, there is nothing like ripping a dirt bike around the woods. Hey I was at the dealership with a friend and when I sat on the 8S, him and the sales rep said, where did the bike go😂. Yeah I'm way too big for that bike. Man, sunshine to rain and flooding to NOTHING OPEN..what a ride😛

I know it is one bike I would actually regret selling if I did unless I had a middle ground bike between it and the Aprilia... so Aprilia need to bring out a 457cc Tuareg, or maybe Honda could build a real XL500 for 2025 as "rumoured" on the KZreads! hahaha... the 8S is quite dinky... I can only imagine you on it being like a gorilla on a Monkey Bike! 😀

Regarding the Beta, I guess it would depend on how many skinny bike rides you did. But IMHO, there’s no reason why you can’t get away with just an adventure bike.

For the majority of the trails I ride, I could do them on my Aprilia, but there is the odd couple that even in the summer I'd struggle and have struggled even on the Beta... there is the enjoyment factor too, I do love adv trail riding, but I also really love the freedom on the trails a skinny enduro bike offers of effortless fun 🙂
