Chorus:
Hello, I've waited here for you
Everlong
Tonight, I throw myself into
And out of the red
Out of her head, she sang
Come down, and waste away with me
Down with me
Slow how you wanted it to be
I'm over my head, out of her head she sang
And I wonder when I sing along with you
If everything could ever feel this real forever
If anything could ever be this good again
The only thing I'll ever ask of you
You've got to promise not to stop when I say when
She sang
Breathe out, so I can breathe you in
Hold you in
And now I know you've always been
And out of your head, out of my head I sang
And I wonder when I sing along with you
If everything could ever feel this real forever
If anything could ever be this good again
The only thing I'll ever ask of you
You've got to promise not to stop when I say when
She sang
And I wonder...
If everything could ever feel this real forever
If anything could ever be this good again
The only thing I'll ever ask of you
You've got to promise not to stop when I say when

I think it’s rare and so beautiful for a fan base to have so much love for one song. No one says it’s overplayed or overrated. A highly respected classic in all regards that means so much to so many people. Including me.

Hamish Moore I’m a decent FF fan. Not my favorite band though. I think they have a lot of forgettable songs. However, some of their great songs are really fricken great. Everlong is at the top of the heap. A perfect song, in my opinion.
Fitting that this video ends with Taylor smiling. Rest in Peace, you absolute legend.

One of THE best songs ever
Dave knows how much we all love this song, and he performed a perfect live rock song. It was released as a power rock song, which we all loved, but he's also played it tender as acoustic&voice only. He starts playing it tender and we all hear the lyrics perfectly, and also teasing with a few surging strums of the electric guitar, but no, each time he settles his lyrical and guitar delivery down again to understated but meaningful. And then for 38 seconds he waits, silent, watching, is it over? Then poses legs wide teasing, that he's about to strum the guitar, and everyone is saying, please, Dave, give us more! And then he smashes a strum, runs back and the band lights up for the finale. We know he's the creator, vocalist, and bandmaster and in that moment the audience is treated to a unique rendition from the same virtuoso who created it - which lends so much to the authenticity and experience compared to a band who's just recreating the studio original.

Dave literally commands the stage just with himself and his guitar for like (almost) 4 minutes 30 seconds - while all of the audience is in awe of him. Then, I absolutely love how he runs up to the main stage and the music builds with Taylor and the rest. What a team. Wow! This particular performance is one of my personal favourites.

Hands down the best live version of this song I've ever seen. One of the best songs ever written. Never gets old no matter how many times I hear it.
I love how they chose to do such an intimate performance of this song - for Wembley Stadium. It's just so beautiful, inclusive, spiritual. I came to Everlong via Nandi Bushell and Rick Astley's versions so it's always been the live cuts that have drawn me in, not the studio version. This is 5 minutes of music from the Gods. Sublime perfection. I'll never tire of it.

Wow. He is mesmerizing. He looks as if he's singing personally to everyone in the audience. Probably is. What a presence he has.
That must have been the perfect release of emotion and to truly connect with the spirit of his father in the most honest and raw tribute a son could give to a father 👏🏼👏🏼
Currently ready your book Dave. I want to be like you. I want to be on stage, in front of millions, making people happy. I love you man. You inspire me
Dave's a real throw back. He's an old school, charismatic, larger-than-life rock and roll front man.
0% nudity 0% sex/drugs 0% violence 95% pure talent 5% that gum he's been chewing since the 90s edit: I don't think people are getting the joke

Better the gum than throwing up all over the audience.

Holy shite dude. That is the best description I have ever heard for Dave Grohl like ever
The quiet look he gives the room on "if everything could ever fell this real for ever. if anything could ever be this good again.". Man.
this brought as tear to my eye
Dave really knows how to build the tension up, until all hell breaks loose!
Can we talk about how Dave Ghrol mastered the ability to chew gum and sing to a stadium of people at the same time. Not first rodeo.

Listen to all those beautiful people. In a moment we forget who we are, we forget all the resentments, all the stress and our hearts beat together. Feel so blessed to be able to enjoy the power of this music. Feels good man, feels good. Makes me want to be a better person.

So glad I was there to appreciate this live, RIP Taylor 🤘🏾🖤
The rare song that sounds as absolutely amazing acoustic as it does electric
You just can't help but get goosebumps AND chills when you hear that opening riff. Hands down his best performance ever, in my opinion
I cry when I hear the Foo Fighters. He touches my soul I'm 64
Love and miss you Taylor.
I've listened to this 100x, and it gives me chills every single time. Definitely the best version of this song, ever.
Like David Letterman, this is my favorite song. When I die, I want this song played at my funeral. Thanks for making greatness
It’s one of those moments in time when you know magic was made……
raw as fuck, no click track, no ear monitors, no overly processed guitar tone. This guy is a true artist, there isn't many raw musicians left. cherish him.
RIP Taylor Hawkins… you were such an amazing one-of-a-kind drummer and we will miss you for the rest of our lifes.
