Thank you for your detailed & learnable (that a word? LoL) tutorials- you explain everything so well & in a way that’s clear & easy to duplicate. Not all tutorials explain why something is done, what to do if a small mistake is done, or share a method that would things easier.

I love the way you teach. You explain everything in detail and simply so a novice can understand but a more experienced knitter won't be bored. I love that you show how to do it in both knitting styles. Your little tips are great. I was thinking what if I can't tell if I'm picking up the correct stitch and you give me the answer. I would love to spend an afternoon knitting and chatting with you. Maybe if I win the Lotto I'll come visit your store. A girl can dream.

As always, super good tutorial. I'm all caught up with my UFO's and been eager to start painting bricks socks. I usually make 64 stitch sock but am doing this with the 60 stitch. If it's too small for adults I have some grandchildren for whom they will fit. Folded hem certainly.

I'm doing a top-down sweater right now. I knitted all the rest of the sweater first, and then went back to add the collar using the method shown in this video. After I had folded over the ribbing and attached it to itself as shown in the video, I casted off using this cast off: kzread.info/dash/bejne/mpWTubp-d6iaqco.html This worked well for me and I will probably do it the same way the next time I knit a top-down sweater.

If you cast on the start with a temporary crocheting chain and remove that when you want to pick up for closing you never have trouble with tension. Is that right?

I crashed and burned and lost a whole cuff…. 😢It looks so easy but I just couldn’t see how to pick up the stitches when I came to do it. I’m doing this as part of the Dustland Sock pattern. I think I will just do a normal ribbed cuff without the folding element. 😊

  • @moonbowartshandknits

I would do all the pick up row as knit, then ribbing could resume. I think the purl stitches would look a little bulky with the yarn being brought front to back. I could be wrong but that's what my brain is telling me lol
