Focus on the history of Maharajas' descendants | SLICE

During his travels around the world, the photographer Nicolas Henry meets communities, families, individuals and photographs them, recreating with each one symbolic scenes of their daily life or their history, using the pictorial imagination of storytelling. This time, he captures the world of Maharajas' descendants and makes us discover an important part of Indian traditions and history.

This series reminds me of movies like bhool bhulaiya or aaja nachle and thats why the videos feel like they are old like 2007 ish. They even got the aesthetic of 2007 bollywood movies and got the foreigner visiting India trope or foreign photographer trope haha

after 1857, ( Rajputs didn’t participate in it) British made sure that these kings don’t unite and they were militarily weak even to control their own provinces. Yes they could have strategised and tried to do something, but it’s never mentioned in history if they do. Some kings in their capacity supported social reforms and scientific exposure. That cannot be denied. They fought, no. Did they contribute towards today’s India, in some way yes
