The most heart-wrenching moment occurs at 20:27, after Shadow departs. Jackie gazes at the clutch, then stares out over the water for a while. It's then, I believe, she resolves to release her hold. Unaware she's not alone, we all watch and empathize with her grief. Gratitude to Cali Condor and FOBBV for the privilege of witnessing their lives so intimately.

It's ok to shed a tear, I have for this very special couple. Their devotion too to one another & their eggs is inspiring, but the fact there will b no babies this year heartbreaking 🦅🦅❤

They're slowly letting go now, which is nice to see. Yes it's hard to watch sometimes but such is nature. I hope next season is a success, great fun watching these two ❤

I'm so sad that Jackie& Shadow didn't have any eaglet. I hope next season will be better. It brakes my heart so much I love u two.

You know, I was thinking the other day when they were bringing in sticks and fluff, that maybe they should just put the sticks and fluff over the eggs so the ravens wouldn't see them. But I guess they wouldn't be so easily fooled. Besides, as much as we hate to think of it, those unviable eggs may provide some food for the ravens; isn't that the way nature would have it. So sad to see Shadow struggling with letting go; it was exhausting to watch him. Thanks for keeping us up to date, Cali.

At what age are eagles in their prime for egg laying?

I’m so attached to J.&S.’s lives together! They make me chuckle , getting those sticks “ in place”! Lol. I know it’s a matter of time that their going to be moving on, allowing “ their God given instincts “ to take over, & turn a new page in their lives, as we anxiously await to see just what it’s going to be. 😊. Love you both dear hearts ! I’m excited to see what the next video clip will show what you both are up to! We can see cradling those eggs, are becoming less & less time spent on them, & soon they will be gone. But the inspiration you both have been & are to us hundreds , who have opened our hearts to you, it has been a JOY to us, in ways that I can not describe! We are all just looking forward to “continuing on”, with you phenomenal bald eagles, no matter what! Jackie, & Shadow, May your beauty fill the sky , everytime you soar high above, just flying like an eagle , lol leaving us mesmerized & fascinated, saying, “ There they go”! 😁🥰. The most AMAZING Bald Eagles , who have captured the heart of man! ❤. (“ J.&S.”!! )

Can't believe I was watching this younger eagle & thought it was with Shadow as the video is Saying Mrs BB & Shadow so I'm thinking it must be a young eagle Jackie tolerates in nest! Turns out it was our Shadow when Brown & first dating Mrs BB who now I know is Jackie 😂 But great to go back & See 👀 Shadow go from delightful young man to a white Fluffy head Eagle 😂 He's some boy 🧒 With the sticks but oor Jackie I think is the stick master at probing if she wants the nest.. Mrs BB 😂 was seriously confused.. Anyhoo always learn & love & Light 🚦 to the Dynamic Duo 🦅 🦅👌☘️💚

I always chuckle when they step on each other. I have learned from Shadow that sometimes things aren't meant to be, no matter what we do or how much we may want them to be. It's a hard lesson. It happens to all of us from time to time.

Thank you Cali Condor! It is a rare privilege to watch these magnificent creatures during this poignant time in their lives. I'm grateful that you put this presentation together, and will probably watch it again and again.

I have learned so much about Eagles, since I began watching. Becoming so involved in their lives, and so hopeful for their eggs to hatch. I have a heavy heart and feel their disappointment. Let us be hopeful for their future, and pray for them. Thank you for this opportunity. ❤😢

It is heartbreaking, but Nature is just doing it's thing. The hardest part for me, is Shadow as always refuses to give up. Hope our magnificent pair have better luck next year. 🦅🦅🦅

That was heartbreaking when Shadow laid the grass on the eggs before sitting down. He’s pulling out all the stops 💜

Shadow got that Jackie was tricking him. 😁😁 She shows up so that he can leave but she doesn’t nurse the eggs so Shadow just turns around and comes back with an excuse to bring massive stick. So interesting their interaction 🥰🫶🏻❤️

It's sad to see him struggling to walk away...AGAIN. Poor baby...

Oh my! 13:30 This is so funny. Jackie moving sticks around to get Shadow to leave the nest but as soon as he leaves she stops 🤣🤣 She leaves herself and there comes Shadow back whinging out loud. 😂😂

Thank you Cali Condor, for keeping us up to date. Shadow is having night duty; so they are slowly letting go. Always good to see them each day! On a happier note, L.A. zoo had 5 Condor chicks hatch. YIPPEE🙂

So many life lessons with these two. Two for starters: One stick at a time will get you where you want to go and a chance to reflect on where in my life have I struggled to let go and move on like Shadow. Poignant.

Stepping on his tail feathers is probably a good indication that Jackie wanted Shadow to move. ~ They tend to find the most unusual sticks. to fortify the nest. ~ Giving up is hard to do. Baby steps our lovely eagles, baby steps. Remember, you have all of us to lean back on ~ That darn swig won't come out of Jackie's beak, no matter how hard she tries ~ I love seeing them together 💜💜💜💜💜💜💜 ~ Thanks again for these snip-its. I've been slacking on my studies and this helps me to catch up on what I'm missing

Think the most poignant part was around 24:17 , when J arrives in the evening to 'relieve' S, only to fly away again, causing S to return and resume his Night shift 😢

I read this same thing happened last year? So was it the year before that when they hatched some eggs? I can't remember which season it was but I so remember one young eaglet didn't make it and left one in the next that eventually fledged.

That eaglet 2-3 yrs years ago was Spirit who grew with love and care from Jackie and Shadow and fledged succesful y. Spirits name was well deserved!

I ache for Shadow. He is such a devoted, dedicated, hopeful father. It will sound odd, but I'm now hoping the ravens will visit the nest, simply to help him grok that continued incubation would be futile.

My sweetheart s all bad weather have and they very protective, I learn so much of them and not stop for praying for his life’s. I hug my Tv and send all my love to them. God bless you J&S&Eggs and hope you understand the nature cause for me is not easy. 😭.

The fact that the eggs are still so untouched beautiful looking is an testament of what good parents they’ve been.

I came upon a “hit an run” eagle in middle of road in NH this week that made me very sad😢😢😢😢🥹🥹🥹🥹

Its nature, its a miracel.❤❤

My ❤ breaks for J&S. I love them so much and prayed for the best possible outcome. Even one viable eaglet would’ve brought so much joy. But it wasn’t meant to be.

I notice the father (Shadow) is the one more time with eggs than mother (Jackie)..

Hey, that is not really an appropriate question, given how sad J&S's followers are. Just maybe ask in a more sensitive way. Maybe they do or maybe they don't - they are raptors. Usually, they leave and the ravens take over. For many of us, we understand that if the eggs aren't viable - best to not let what they are made of, go to waste. But maybe read the room... thx
