FYI: these rescuers are expert technicians, scientists and PhDs who know what they're doing. They do dangerous work in order to Protect wildlife. All of this takes money, so, please, if you can, donate money to these organizations because we need these Heroes.

To be fair to the Bald Canyon eagles, there is not much “lumber” on the islands. It’s mostly small oak trees, bushes and poison oak. 😊

I love how the baby fell right to sleep the very second she left 💗

The way the baby would go from defensive mode to “wait hold on will you feed me?” back to defensive mode over and over is adorable.

Gotta love how the chicks seem to fall asleep in sync! Too much excitement, must have a nap immediately.

Truly SPECTACULAR...so very gentle was this woman and just look at how that baby looked at her...priceless...What a memory for her to have gotten..now this was the best purpose for phone's I have ever seen. What a wonderful joyouse outcome. I forgot to add, the care of placing those extra rails for these babies was incredible and to see the size of that nest next to a human...WOW. Thank you with joyful tears in my eyes.

Not all heroes wear safety harnesses either! I was getting queasy watching her let go of the ladder while working on the nest.

I think both Jackie & Shadow would be pleased with the stick placement by this rescuer = they’ve taught us humans well 😉❤️🦅🐥❤️🥰

“Get closer you big two legged and I’ll rip your arm off!! I got my eye on you.” Little guy was doing their best to be intimidating. Don’t know how long they were hanging there but they could have been a little exhausted too.

You are so right, not all heroes wear capes. This rescue was so amazing, that little eaglet had no idea how much it was loved. I was so thankful to see those protective railing being put into place. Thank you to this dear rescuer and thank you, Cali, for sharing this with us.

Thanks for Posting Cali. Good job on fleshing out outer limbs of nest by Res. Person. Looked like only left side was smooth and lacking enough railing for normal chick activity but since E fell down opposite side and got stuck, shows a lack of caution for a E unless P hooked it with a Talon flying away. and pulled it off Front side. Great Rescue here. Happy This Nest got necessary Paperwork for rescue in time. before the E dislodged itself and fell to ground.

Thank you Cali. The chick (Selene I believe) was very feisty, bless her heart, and very chatty. So happy they were able to do the rescue and it was successful! Thank you IWS and everyone involved.

This scene is typical of any Eaglet in the nest confronting an intruder--Stand up , mantle wings wide and strike an open beak pose. I myself think it's instinctual and have seen it when E's are banded--all will do likewise if more than one in nest. Baby Storks are an exception--very meek when picked up for banding.

@@nicoleterio2963 Most of the Raptor family will do that as well. Chicks--hawks, owls etc. Golden Eagles in Europe are (as adults) particularly nasty. One in Romaina--few days ago--a dad sitting on 2 eggs, flew off nest in pursuit when another intruder Eagle flew in . Moments later came back to nest with its' talons full of white body down and fine chest feathers crammed in it's talons(indicating a Juv or Y adult GE was the intruder. Happy to help educate others as others have given out info to me over the yrs.

Well, if this was going to happen, it certainly was better at this age. This might have been a bit dicier if the eaglets were somewhat closer to fledging. Thank goodness it looks as though everything went well!
