    in the early days of commercial aviation, we actually had a lot of flying boat type planes because we didn't have huge runways all over the place and it was easier to land in the ocean. after WWII, there were airports everywhere that had been built for the war and could be converted to normal civilian airports, and modern style airplanes caught on as the standard.

    I do graphics and vinyl work and I cut on glass tables because the blade runs better and the table will last longer

    @@shere_kan8329 No, you don't even realize that razor blades are steel, aluminum would be a terrible choice, and that glass used for tables would be way too expensive at that size were it to be the same as that used for phones. They do not have the same Mohs hardness rating. The Dunning-Kruger here is very strong...

    Great build. Really captured the spirit of Sikorsky's amphibious aircraft. Hey, Sam's flying boat reminded me of a failed NASA concept for the Gemini Project called the Rogallo Wing (basically a paraglider). It might be an interesting design challenge.

    You should add hydrofoils. They'll lift hull from the water and reduce water friction so you'll take off faster Edit: the'll also make landing that much longer, but who cares when your boat can have water wings and air wings?

    @@Zanroff smh my plastic board I would understand, but to make a scalpel scratch glass it takes a fair bit of pressure more than i would ever use to cut foam.. especially if I have hit the glass below the foam i would relieve all pressure from that point on, it's the sharpness of the tool that cuts the foam it's the pressure your putting on the scalpel that scratches the glass

    michblitz but still, yeah glass doesn’t get scratched as easily, especially when there isn’t less force, but still, it’s glass. But they used what they had to use
