Conner, Buddy you need to hear the sound of a BIG radial engine, just once in your life; I used to work at Stits AIRCRAFT located at Flabob Airport in Riverside, Ca. and every time an old Stearman or similar aircraft would fire up or come in for a landing we would run to the doors to watch it, Now that is a sound you will never forget. Not knocking your choice, but give it a try, 'Couldn't Hurt !'

That was pretty cool. Your Dad is a good sport on all of this. Colder air is denser air. you could probably get more lift early in the morning but you would still be limited to ground effect without more power for lift. If the weight was below the lift, it would be more self righting like a pendulum. I would probably be better to try it on a smaller scale first with proportional weight loading

at the rate of progress were been going on so far, not alot more than now since neil armstrong flew a vtol to practise his moon landing, the flying bedstead i believe it was known as technically the first drone.and that was over 50 years ago, the way i see it we've pretty much got exactly the same shit we had almost a century ago, just slightly improved versions, phones cars planes trains tv's electric cars, all were around a century ago. so wheres the progress. whats new. not much oh no hang on they didnt have leaf blowers or those things you use to clean ya windows, the suction ones that are yellow. what else. "skateboards lol".not much else, we should be living permanantly in space by now if we progressed the way we thought we would, but no, theres been little progress since the great wars. and guaranteed no sooner flying cars become reliable some law will come in preventing us from having them. governments hate progress as all the top dogs make too much money the way things already are and if someone new comes aong these top dogs will loose there place and there aint no way there gonna let some nobody do that to them, someone will find them selves having an accident first and then there ideas will go the way7 of the doh doh. like so many other great ideas that have come and gone, and everything just stays the same,m the rich getting richer and the pour paying for everything.

@@doggewow3683 A drone is an Unmanned Aerial Vehicle, often autonomous. Size is irrelevant. The military flies drones which are as large as many helicopters. Complexity is also irrelevant. Drones, as most people think of them, will have four or more rotors which require computer technology to control them, whereas a helicopter requires a single human operator using the cyclic, collective, and pedals, to control a main rotor and a tail rotor. A drone is only "more simpler" because computers make the decisions. Ironically, a drone's computer makes only a fraction of the decisions that a helicopter must make. Helicopters and drones have almost nothing in common. A drone is not a smaller and simpler version of a helicopter, whether it be a full-size helicopter, or RC.

This actually could count as an experimental compact helicopter given that it’s manned. *The Sripol Flying Sled was an experimental helicopter, remarkable due to its compact design, using several small rotors rather than a main rotor and tail rotor or even a conventional tandem rotor design; as a result, the Sripol Flying Sled was incredibly compact for its lifting capabilities. Created by Peter Sripol in late 2018, it was operated by remote control but could carry a single occupant.*
