that was fun to watch. the first flight with just the rear motors was surprisingly very manuverable looking considering its short size of wings. good one

That flying at 3:00 demonstrated a great deal of skill. Nice crash avoidance instincts there.

It was such a better flyer before the VTOL hardware.... Like a giant bumble bee.

Hey I was wondering, I’m starting to build my own rc airplane and need help. How do you know which transmitter reciever, and controller you need. Also how do you solder the wires to the transmitter.

It was kind of surprising that it worked as well as it did even before the VTOL stuff was added in. Some was a kludge, but it flew when other hobbyists doing the same may have given up. Also you can't beat the entertainment value here too!

if you want something thats very very similar to this that would be an interesting challenge to build systems wise, check out the y 32 xian from the game arma 3. it has the bicopter discs that tilt within the wings, and for stability the rear two power plants have thrust vectoring like the system on the rear of the f35s where the angle changes by rotating the vectoring tube (idk the name). so if you decide to take this project further thats a potential thing to look into doing

Cool video, although I was really hoping to see it fly as a bicopter in the hover and take off/landing modes, while still having the ability to transition into normal flight. Still interesting though.

I would've been very happy with just the normal plane one - I can't believe that thing actually flies. With such short wings. Once you added the quad hardware, it was essentially just a normal quad with a bunch of useless foam added. With the plane version, it actually flew using the wings given.

You should try making wheels that makes less of an impact, like bounce to wheel a bit or something

What can’t you guys not fly? Build stuff that doesn’t look like it will fly but it does. Awesome channel.

Its simple, actually in your earlier attempts, you forgot about the net angular velocity of the vertical take off motors, that's why it kept turning towards one direction, that why we have the tail rotor in a heli. But when u used a Quadcopter, it already has motors running in different directions, cancelling the net angular velocity and only pure upward thrust remains, would definitely love to see a more refined and perfected model, with vertical thrust motors in the wings, with fins that open and close in take off and horizontal flight maneuvers respectively. Great video, and effort. Love your work

Perhaps try thrust vectoring? With the quad copter motors.
