Floyd Mayweather beat that ass, don't be mad

Maidana was totally the aggressor but Mayweather's ability to land shots even in those moments is just incredible. I was never a huge fan of Floyd but you have to admit the guy is top notch world class boxer.

@@ibashcommunists6847 You should watch more than the highlights. Boxing isn’t about combinations that excite the crowd- that’s not how you win. Maidana left himself open for multiple counters and could hardly get past Floyd’s defense. Maidana was outboxed plain and simple

Floyd's ability to counter punch is amazing, nothing worse as a boxer to lean in use a burst of energy throwing a set of punches which most don't land and then as you lean out you cop a barrage of punches that land, it demorolises you.

To me, this was Floyd's toughest fight. This was an extremely close fight and really show the beauty of both fighters. Floyd is special.

@@DD2Tacc I think what makes Floyd so great and IMO(doens't have to be yours) the best ever was that the was like Jordan. Jordan will tell you that his pattened fadeaway jumper was NOT textbook fundamental. But it gave him enough space to get his shot over any defender and became his most valuable weapon. Floyd is the only boxer who purposely didn't mind getting pinned against the ropes which if you know boxing is a cardinal sin. He used the ropes to his advantage because his shell defense and reflexes were so supreme while you're budy punching yourself out he could simply let you tired yourself out and pivot out laterally so for him ti was a way to catch his breathe or he would murder you with short shots against the rope because he was the most accurate fighter in Compubox history.

The thing I like about Floyd is no matter if he's losing he always turns up in the later rounds. He could lose the first 5 rounds and school you for the next 7. Maidana fought his ass off and definitely earned the rematch but Floyd just does what Floyd do best and that's win

I first saw him fight live in San Diego back in like 1997 or something, havent missed a fight of his since that day, and I have NEVER seen him gassed out. Like actually never. Im not sure ive ever even seen him breathing really hard. Absolute gym rat that guy. He "comes on" in the late rounds because he doesnt ever get tired, but normal humans do.

In my opinion this was one of Floyd's more grittier fights. He showed a lot of physicality in this.

Yeah! The black guy has a nice body....But he received a "paliza" .... Maidana: 850 punches throwed, 222 landed. MayWeather: 450 throwed, 230 landed. Enought to understand he was clinching and receiving all the time. For USA: Mayweather won. For the rest of the world: Maidana won. McFloyd is the one man in the world who won at least 3 belts running backwards and doing nothing to knock an opponent.

I’ve never seen a Mayweather opponent ever try to break him down with CONSISTENT relentless aggression and body shots. Floyd always suckers them into loading up for the one head shot. In the meantime, bop-bop-bop. Money piles up the points. Amazing how he gets into your head! Truly one of the greats!

If you watch the Broner vs Maidana fight first then this one, you can take a lot from them. The holes in Broner's boxing was something he never dealt with, Mayweather on the other hand was seasoned with his style. Maidana did bring it to him also but lacked orthodoxy in his boxing which is the way Maidana fights. It was a good fight.

Man I miss watching Mayweather at work this man is a generational talent and you are blessed if you witnessed his greatness

2 things I noticed that I didn’t remember from back when I first watched this fight live. Majority of maidanas punches just were not scoring blows they were either hitting Floyd’s arms or being glanced off the shoulder or elbows. Other thing was Floyd was hitting a lot harder than I seemed to remember

Maidana s timing was on point too.. he was countering a lto of floyds attacks in the 11th and 12th.

People that can’t see Floyd’s skill are honestly missing out. Perfectly executed pull-counters, lead left hooks, double right cross, check left hooks, hook-roll-spin out from the ropes, body-body-head etc. Not only does he apply these fundamental skills throughout the whole fight, they’re well timed with quick and accurate punches.

This was also Maidnaas finest moment too because he dominated the fight in rounds 1-6 then Floyd adapted and started to win 7-10 but then Maidana also began to capitilize on Floyds errors and timings in the 11th and 12th, We talk a lot about how FLoyd adjusted but Maidana adjusted to in the 11th and 12 th and knew everything that Floyd was about to do. Just watch how goes for the fake right jab and knows that Floyd knows its a fake and then goes with the left overhook and then goes with the right anticipiating that FLoyd would react to it then maidana fakes it and goes for a punishing BODY Shot .....then Maidana knows that Floyd is quick to react on an attack and instead of going back with the right, Maidana knows that Floyd will counter with his right and so Maidana just steps back as he realizes hes content with that 1 body shot to not risk being lured in . Smart instincts by maidana.

Despite of what the Mayweather nutsack riders say, Floyd got beat up in this fight. Everyone knows this was a brutally bad decision from the judges. A judges decision doesn't change what the vast majority of the boxing community beside what the Floyd Mark's witnessed that night. Maidana beat the breaks out of Floyd that night. Floyd reaction time on defense is impressive. Buddy got a few good hits on Floyd, but most of those wild energetic punches were wasted. Cause Floyd just stayed covered and move around. Then picked the right time to tap buddy jaw. Maidana came out with all that leaning and putting all his energy, in the early rds. That bs won't work vs seasoned vets.

This is not their highlights, its "mayweather highlights" wrong caption dude!

I remember first time hearing about this fight and thought Floyd was crazy to take this risk. El Chino was a bad man. Very close fight but Floyd showcased his skills offensively and defensively, getting smothered but still have the ring generalship, landed much cleaner punches.

If they ask me about my opinion and I make money out of it well I'd explain every detail why I think no doubt Floyd won the fight. Lol

A lot of people bring up Zab Judah as Floyd’s toughest fight, which I agree in a sense. Zab was definitely winning the fight early on but when he gassed out Floyd showed it’s levels. This is easily Floyd’s toughest battle start to finish. Maidana is a warrior

I've just watched both fights trying to figure out what really happened including for Oscar Dela ho. People are either subjective, hating or don't know how the scoring system works. Floyd is just brutal and clinical in all these fights, whereas his opponents makes a lot of mifiring punches. First 5 to 6 rounds looks pretty close, after that he simply takes over and control the whole show. People must learn to be honest.

I can honestly say Floyd is one of the dirtiest fighters of this generation

Jose Luis Castillo fought similarly to Maidana and gave Floyd some trouble arguably fighting him to a draw in their first fight. Castilo was a technical boxer who resorted to plan B and brought the fight to floyd's chest, giving him no room to fight from the outside for 12 rounds. He wasn't a power puncher like maidana though. Pressuring floyd for 12 rounds is no easy task but if you got the right technique to do it then I believe it is the blue print to beat mayweather (like Lamotta vs Ray robinson).

Maidana had 24 rounds of biting, mauling, kicking, ,and throwing to the ground....but still couldn't get it done. Floyd Mayweather had to much skill, speed and grit. He is TBE

@mr orange Getting your butt kicked is NOT missing over 600 punches and being outlanded 2:1 in connect percentage. You can NOT let your opponent land at over 50% while you do less than half of that. Aggressiveness doesn't count. Effective aggressiveness does. Swinging at air isn't effective.

Maidana may have landed more, but he also missed more. He missed almost SEVENTY FIVE percent more than the extra number of punches he landed. Sure he was the aggressor, but aggression doesn't count. It never has. It's EFFECTIVE aggression. Getting points for being aggressive is like a participation trophy. You can't get points for trying. You get points for actually accomplishing what you're trying to do. When someone connects over twice the amount per punch as you, you're never going to win. And you shouldn't. Swinging at air should never earn points

I've watched this fight and tried to have a neutral opinion ! Yes mayweather scored the cleaner head shots but there is no way , over the 12 rounds , did he outscore maidana. Maidana didn't land his punches as clean but he still landed many more than mayweather. At the end of the fight. It is clear, Mayweather was genuinely surprised got the decision.

someone told me mayweather should have lost this fight so I checked out the highlights because I didnt see the fight. No way, maidana is a wild brawler, every time he charged with a wild flurry, mayweather calmly landed just as many solid ones to the chin.
