Graham is a good interviewer. This is quality work. Versatile content. Been watching his channel for a while. Really enjoy it. People (trolls) gave him crap in the past. Glad I don't see much of that anymore. Keep it up sir.

When Graham mentions Lance Armstrong on 2:47, the rider there is Levi Leipheimer... good production!

I have had the chance to talk to Floyd twice.......he seems like a good guy. He was caught up in the shitstorm of cycling doping, and he didn't have the ability to tell cold-eyed lies like Mr. Armstrong.

He didn't have the PR machine behind him like Armstrong did. Sure he cheated, and he came clean. He is VASTLY different than Mr. Armstrong who took the same drugs, but used his money & fame to become a sociopath with a soft spot for those with cancer. It took Landis and Hamilton to help blow the lid off of the Armstrong con.

Did you read Tyler Hamilton's book ? If not you should, it's an very interesting book.

Watching this a second time I can say that Besinger is a good interviewer but in this case it's a easy job. There's not much needed for Floyd Landis to give incredible good answers!

Cheater, but not a monster like Lance.

What I've always liked about the Floyd Landis saga, was his understanding of the "gaming" aspect of all the interactions between, throughout and among all the players and governing bodies at play. A dirty game, and his conscience paid a big price. The good part is he's alive to talk about it, so we can learn something.

Love this interview. I used to be a big Armstrong fan. As such, I didn’t like Landis. Watching this 15 years later, it’s easier to see that he was an unrecognized hero. Of course he didn’t have the PR compatible name. Now there’s no doubt that a sense of morality was required for him to go down the path he did. It appears he walked that path alone like a pioneer, even hero. Of course the TDF riders still push the limits of PED’s. But there’s also no doubt Flandis issued in a step change for the better. He probably saved a few rider’s lives by preventing them from pumping their bodies full of stuff, bad blood transfusions, etc.

The rider shown at 2:47in the video AIN’T Mr. Armstrong. Looks like Levi to me.

at 2:47 you ask "when did lance contact you?" and you show a picture. You do realize that is not Lance Armstrong's picture?!!!!!!!!! but levi leipheimer!!!!!!!!

I was one who publicly trashed Landis after being stripped but as I read more and more he was just another victim of Armstrong

SO he doped, but ratted out Lance for doing the exact same thing. Solid.

@Finite Automata the us government shouldn’t be allowed to sponsor sports. This isn’t the Olympics is a professional sport. I have a big issue with that and plus the amount of money the us government profited from lance is a lot more then the amount they paid him.

Horrible situation: to be competitive, you have to dope. To get a job as a domestique - you have to dope some to just keep up. Want to be 'in' - you have to dope to some degree. Stage races are so tough physically. I've done them at a low level. To do them at that level - you are doping to be in the pack, everyday.

Seems like a good dude, even with all the doling these guys are fuking incredible athletes! Respect Sir

ALL these people knew what they were doing when they signed on with Lance Armstrong. Lance himself either doped or right now none of us would even know his name. The entire sport was filthy before Lance. Floyd and Tyler and George and Frankie, all of them and many more made hundreds of thousands and in some cases millions of dollars because of their involvement with Lance. Tyler Hamilton is still cashing in doing talks. These guys all knew what they were doing and then when the pressure was on some of them sang like canaries. Floyd is a terrible human being. He's a snitch and a rat. Nobody forced him to dope.

Please, let's do not forget he was payed well for how many yrs? And then cheated right in the middle of his tour... He had his butt kicked one day and the next day he was on top? Apparently, he was out on his own or just did not have the backing of enough of the cheaters on top of all this to cover up for him... -- Makes zero difference in this cess-pool of cheaters who are very well organized...

What having to dope in order to work at a sport you love, where everyone knows you are doping and have to dope to get the win, and almost require to dope BUT the only one that has to lie and bear the burden of living the lie is the athlete who is putting all on the line. Morally reprehensible.

What did you use when you were doping and did you get caught?

Situation Normal All Fucked Up . . . so many were doping, you couldn't compete if you didn't 'level' the playing field . . . which was Landis' criticism of UCI.

Aside from the serious topic discussed, I'm always left so happy and comforted when listening to sportsmen and women who can actually talk properly. Living in the UK, whilst being a big football (soccer) fan, I'm always left so disappointed with just how uneducated footballers and ex footballers come across when doing interviews. Listening to the likes of Landis and Hamilton, and hearing them being so eloquent and expressive is just a breath of fresh fucking air!

That's probably because a lot really are uneducated. I love the EPL, but I was truly shocked at just how many athletes quit school to go pro at 16.

At the time, Floyd Landis disappointed me the most. I think he's a genuine person that got caught up in a "system" of cheating. I think he's genuinely regretful. Armstrong, whatever.

I like the fact Floyd speaks candidly and honestly about his doping and cheating decisions unlike Armstrong who denied it all until the very end or Tyler Hamilton who consistently still plays the Lance "bullying victim" role.

Floyd told when he had nothing left. You’re delusional if you think anything else. He left because he wanted to be the man, became the man then lost it all and after that he wanted to crawl back to Lance. It wasn’t until he had no where to go where he ratted for no reason. BTW look up interviews where Lance admits he was an ass and he cheated, it’s right here on KZread for you to see.

In this era....pro cycling operated as if Don King was the promoter.

Why does everyone make it out to be that Lance was the bad guy, the bully. But we must all realize that the results speak for themselves. Had Lance ever for one moment let his guard down all the 7 victories at the Tour de France would have been imossible. It is a sad fact of cycling and any sport for that matter that a single laser focus on winning is essential to be considered the best. There are no nice guys in sport, when their essential function is to defeat and crutch you, grind you to the ground.

A sport of cheaters... Defend them all you want but it is a sport of cheaters, top to bottom... I'd hate to be a cyclist in this sport and live my life like this... -- Not that other sports are clean but sport allows cheating on level... But again, college football is pathetic on their recruiting..

We have probably all known a guy like Floyd. Gets caught at some mischief, then snitches on everyone else instead of taking the fall alone.

He acuse UCI in the way taht they dont really want to solve the problems, they know most are doping but they keep doing stupid tests easy to pass thru and when a positive pop up they cover it. They let the shit become to big.

The problem is that literally EVERYONE was cheating. The year Landis was caught the top 20 riders were all implicated in some sort of doping even if they all weren’t caught. So he’s kinda right to be upset. It was ingrained in the sport because the doping agency didn’t do its job. But he’s the one who paid the price.

I doubt it was literally everyone. I read somewhere someone said it was 80% which might or might not be right but it's hard to know seeing as not many were caught and not many would have voluntarily fessed up to doing it. It does seem it was very widespread but I'm sure there were some that were clean.

There was an interview that Floyd had done years ago and a reporter asked him did he believe Lance was cheating? His answer was spot-on and it was very fair... To summarize, his answer went something like this: "Well, how do you define cheating? Because of one person is on something and everybody else isn't then it's cheating, but if everybody is cheating then the playing field is level, it's just not the playing field you thought it was."

He is a world class, busted cheater trying to make a buck here. Apparently you are too young to understand this. HE IS NOT DOING THIS FOR ANY GOOD. He is forced to do this because he is broke.

His indignance & calling the anti doping agency blackmailers is laughable & obnoxious
