Kelly's experience as a woman and a black woman has extra burdens that most black women can relate to and most (not all) white women can not relate to.. White women have more of a middle ground than black women. Generalizations dilute and disregard experiences that are personal to the individual. There is a clear difference in how white women are treated compared to how black women are treated. Most women has had experiences like Kelly's. Some more than others.

@@KellyStamps Hi Kelly! This is my first time watching your channel and your videos are very informative and humorous! One day many rains ago, )way before cell phones) I was at a neighborhood gas station and had to use the pay phone. So, I’m talking on the phone with my then 11month old son on my hip and my back turned. All of the sudden someone grabs my arm and I turned around, scared as hell. It was an OLD man that worked as a jitney at the local market. I tried to pull away from him screaming No!! He said I was going to be him woman and tried to pull me into his car. I started screaming “help,” and a couple of guys from the gas station (that I was familiar with ) came out and started running towards him yelling and cursing. He hurried up, jumped in his car and got out of there. Old men have always given me the creeps, and even though this is was 30 something years ago, I still feel weird when they try to get “ friendly.”

As a black woman growing up and living in Florida, I’ve mastered a few ways, but the best way I ignore and keep those thirsty FL men to leave me alone, is to have both AirPods in my ears, listening to music or holding my phone up watching a video/movie playing, or make a phone call. Some still don’t care and still trying to talk to you. I just point to my ear and phone indicating I’m busy, and continue ignoring them.

I do that all the time whem im alone outside because other people are intrusive and sh*t. I’m introvert too and i prefer my space. (Or you can pretend to talk to someone else while having your earphones on haha) Sometimes If someone is really annoying and approaches. I say, “can you please give me space? I just wanted to be alone and to relax today. Thanks for understanding.” Then I smile a little. They back off. I usually also have a book with me when i go outside when i go to a cafe or my ipad so people know i am doing something but sometimes we can’t avoid annoying people😅

I am get concerned of the consequences and it has held me back but here goes since I am pretty much almost over the hill. No one cares, people are mean, society is a nasty machine that destroys ones confidence and morals if you are not really strong and resilient. LIfe can be an awful harsh reality with all sorts of horror no matter how pretty or white you may be. So we just count our blessings and carry on. Rant over. The end.

It’s her giving him a number anyway for me. Every time a woman gives a pushy man their info to appease them, all it does is “prove” to them that you want their pursuit and are just playing hard to get and they were right to demand it. Whether true or not, that’s their narrative.
