@@JenniferGlatzhofer During this COVI-19 she has also done few Masterclass vids. She thought underlines, that findind a real, committing Vocal Coach if possible is important, which is truth. I use my voice mainly to scare dogs and teenagers 😄 But they are quite impressive and really not boring...

Yes, is "THE SONG" for you next reaction of Floor Jansen with Nightwish

Henk Poort is the original Dutch Phantom. The arrangement is from the Nightwish version of the Phantom. Floor has had both musical theatre and operatic training as well as rock music training. She is quite comfortable in moving between styles. In "Shoemaker" for example, she goes 100% opera at the end. When you review "Ghost Love Score" make sure you use the Wacken 2013 version as it is the one with the best production values.

He agreed to do this duet with her on the condition that the next time Nightwish came to the netherlands that he's able to perform this onstage with her. That's a good video. Edit: BIll, it's also been said that Henk is one of, if not, FLW's favorite Phantom

Evidently Floor has been a big fan of Henk's for years and years. She was totally stoked to be on this show with Henk. Henk learned (quickly) how to growl especially for Floor!!

There's a perfectly valid reason why you have not heard of Floor Jansen: Until this season of the show Beste Zangers, the bulk of the Netherlands had never heard of her! Floor is one of those who is bigger outside her home country, but rarely if known at all in her home country. She's a singer in a metal band, yes, but is classically trained, spent years in the conservatory, while Henk, is THE Phantom. He is Andrew Lloyd Webber's favorite Phantom out of all who have played that character. As everyone already mentioned, this arrangement of Phantom of the Opera is the arrangement that is found on Nightwish's 2002 album, Century Child. So you have the lead singer of Nightwish, performing the Nightwish arrangement of a song that Henk knows better than anyone on the planet outside of ALW, Sarah Brightman, and Michael Crawford. When Floor found out that her idol (Henk) was going to be on the show with her, she asked if she could perform this with him.. he agreed, on the condition that he would get to perform it when Nightwish tours through the Netherlands. That show is still on their schedule. As everyone has already mentioned to go down the rabbit hole that is Nightwish, I'll also request that you have a react to this entire season of Beste Zangers. If you search for Jenniezelf's channel, you'll find the episodes not only with English subtitles, but the commentary both before and after their performances. Start with Episode One, which features Henk on the center couch (where everyone else sings songs he's sang or has meaning in his life), and you'll see how they, and the entire Netherlands, were introduced to Floor.

Everybody is requesting "Ghost Love Score" and this is a legimate claim to jump down the Nightwish (with Floor Jansen as the lead sing) - just FYI! in that amazing performance, you shall only uncover 30-40% of Floor's voice capacity - many singers sing what they can - Floor, if she feel the song, sings what she wants (any style)

I also think though the audio quality on the recording is worse, the audience interaction and rocking style of Buenos Aires 2012 is fantastic.

unknown to any of the other singers, Henk had been secretly practising the growl in his voice; so, when he did it, Floor was genuinely surprised, as were all the others.....

Henk used distortion with his voice for the first time in his career to honor Floor being a Metal singer. This is wonderful. You should check out the rest of her performances on this show. All super!

The unsung Hero of this song is Henk! His voice is epic for the phantom.

For me this is the Duet of the Century. Great acting and singing from both of these vocal titans. Their mutual chemistry is exceptional. Greetings from Finland! ⛄👍❄

Henk Poort played the "Eric" role in the Dutch "Phantom" production for ages and my queen (💗) Floor Jansen is the lead singer for the world famous Finnish symphonic metal band Nightwish. She is the best selling Dutch artist of all time, i guess. So they are both very seasoned performers and it really shows there.

Since Lara Fabian and Johnny Halliday "Requiem pour un fou" was the best duet of the last century... and the Leonard Cohen / Lily Collins "Suzanne" was also last century... There's a few to compete since. Floor and Tim Akkerman duet of "Shallow" show what a great songwriter Lady Gaga actually is. Same show as this, Beste Zangers. Maelle and Guulan "Fragile" was an astonishing duet, framed as a competition, they transcended it with a deeply moving collaboration of utterly opposite voices. Floor is in so many duets of note it's hard to pick just a few. With pregnant Simone Simons in "Sancta Terra". "valley of the Queens" with Marcela & Diane. Marko/Tarja Phantom also gets on the list. Jessie J has been in some great duets. So has Dimash. Of course. Too many to list.

Yeah, no question, Nightwish Ghost Love Score live at Wacken 2013 is what you should take up next. Unless you don't like to be blown away

@@Wotsefaqq I would say, the most iconical Nightwish songs are Elvenpath and Wishmaster. ;-) And I just wanted to say that there are so many reactions to GLS out there, it is getting a bit boring. To get familiar with Nightwish, it is ok for me, but there doesn't have to be more reaction videos. There are so many great bands that deserve more attention and I feel that Nightwish now has a lot of attention.

Welcome to FloorWorld. All performances of hers in this show were great. She sand in 4 different languages and she sang at least 5 different genre. Then she is producing solo performances during lockdown on her you tube channel. And of course Nightwish. Henk performance of the sound of silence on this show was great too. Once you do Ghost Love Score, your life will change :) Floor is the most versatile singer on the planet.

All performances of Floor at Beste Zangers 2019 are really worth to see. Take the uploads by JennieZelf, which contain some context why the song is chosen.

Henk Poort added the vocal fry here especially for Floor, he’d never done it before, but Floor is that amazing he wanted to surprise her, and he did, she didn’t know it was going to happen.

Floor is not only vocally diverse... understatement. But a vocal coach as well.

The most important things to remember when watching this performance: 1) Floor Jansen grew up idolizing Henk Poort. He's one of the reasons she got into singing 2) Henk was the Dutch Phantom. Literally. He played the Phantom in Dutch theater for multiple years. 3) Henk and Floor made an agreement to do this duet when Henk had only recently heard of Floor that month. She asked him to duet. 4) Floor Jansen is without a doubt the most talented current female vocalist, and arguably the best vocalist of all time

Gotta love how Floor just melts when Henk starts. I know it's acting but she really does love him and does her best to look smaller & coy. Shows the power dynamic of the characters.

Floor is the swiss knife for singing, she literally can sing everything, yes from pure opera to dark growling.

Please check Henk Poort’s version of “Sound of Silence”. He sings it for Floor and it’s really amazing!!! As an opera singer Henk is not used to singing with metal techniques, but for this performance he practiced singing with distortion.

nightwish army reporting in! that was wonderful reaction! I've seen literally more than 300 reaction/analysis of this and ghost love score and other songs Floor and nightwish have from all sorts of experts vocal coaches singers techs instrumentalists and so on and all of them had something new to say when saw this band perform. as a fan it only deepens my respect of how complex their technique and performance is. can't wait for you to meet Toumas and the rest of the band of geniuses that is nightwish

I saw Henk Poort on the 10th anniversary of Las Miserable special on tv. The climax was bringing 50 singers from all over the world who had played John Van John-was incredible.

No Wonder that Hank owned this male Part! He is the Best Phantom for Mr Webber for a reason 💪❤️

Floor idolized Henk, as she saw him at age 12 in the Dutch production of Phantom. That deep growly, metal voice was a complete surprise for Floor, as you can see by her expression. As you hear more of Floor, you will realize that she can sing anything at anytime. Someone once said that most singers sing the what they can, Floor sings what she wants.

Henk apparently learned to do those harsh vocals specially for this performance as a tribute to the version of the song that Nightwish does and you can tell how happy it makes Floor that one of her all time idols did that for her ☺️

@@JenniferGlatzhofer Forgot something I think is important about her singing style to really get you motivated. During an interview with Floor, she said she is an empath and feels every song she performs, which is passed directly onto anyone listening/watching. There will be plenty of songs where you may need to keep tissues nearby. If you start with the Wacken 2013 concert, note that she was only with the band for 10 months but already had a very commanding stage presence as you will see. Also, all of the orchestra and choir parts you hear are real, recorded as backing tracks for their concerts.

The distortion Henk added was a fun callback to his version of The Sound of Silence which he sang for Floor and had to learn to use distortion to be able to use it

A commenter named Gabriel will eventually come from the nightwish army (the name for the fans of the band) he will give you a back story on the band I’m sure he always does. Watch the entire 2019 season of Beste Zangers. Everyone has to go out of their comfort zone quite a few times. The 8th/last episode is when everyone does duets. Henk also does Vivo per Lei with Emma (the hot blonde in the maroon dress).

Like your video. Great piece of music and fantastic presentation. Love Floor's face when Hank lets out the fierce tiger roar voice. Feels like his reference to Floor's metal side.

I heard in other reaction video comments that Floor grew up idolizing Henk Poort as the Phantom and one of her dreams was to sing with him. Also that she taught Henk how to growl for this performance right here.

I saw them perform this live. Straight up goosebumps! It was also the only song that no one sang along and just let the performers do their thing.

This song always gives me chills (since Sarah Brightman and Michael Crawford immortalized it!) - and this version just adds to it! Floor & Henk - what a duo! Not going to repeat what so many others have said (he's the orig. Dutch Phantom, she's a metal singer, yadda yadda). What I didn't see recommended (although I haven't scanned all 500 comments) was Floor's version of Vilia Lied, from this same program Beste Zangers. She performed it for Henk when it was his 'day' to sit back - and it's beautiful! Sung in German - there is versions of the video with subtitles, which I recommend seeing! Floor is a magnificent songstress goddess!!

So, the Nightwish Army found this video. While we're talking about unbelievable voices, it might be time to check out Devin Townsend "Kingdom" (live for EMGTV). Dude took what was supposed to be a tech demo (EMG makes guitar pickups) and stole the show entirely.

Should listen to her latest Nightwish tracks, especially Shoemaker.

Any song you choose, whether your own choice or recommendation (and you will get a LOT), will be a good one, as there is not a single bad song among the lot of them. Most people will recommend Ghost Love Score from Wacken 2013 (German music fest) and my own personal favorite is Song of Myself. My suggestion at the moment, since you just listened to this version, is to listen to Nightwish's version from 2005, with original singer Tarja ('tarya')

With Floor Jansen you met in my humple opinion one of the best singer of our time. She said in a interview that she worked her ass off for her abilities that she is able to sing all the different stiles and with her perfect diction, pitch and insane breath control she stays for that you can reach everything when you work hard for it.

There is so much to learn about this performance. Henk Poort IS the Dutch Phantom He is Floor's hero since her childhood. Floor accepted to participate as soon she knew that Henk was there. Henk's distortion part, he learned how to distort without damage his vocal cords hours before the performance. The thunderstorm at the beginning wasn't intentional, it was raining that night.

Oh now you need to react to the Nightwish version of this song with their first singer Tarja :)

Sure it's been mentioned, but you really should react to floor as part of nightwish - unbelievable talent them all. Ghost love score is the best place to start. It'll be quite a journey!

this performance was the end of the season series "Best singers 2019". he started with the episode of Henk Poort on the couch and that Floor Jansen sang the "Vilia leid" in German for Henk. by the way Henk Poort WAS the ghost of the opera in the Netherlands from 1993 to "96

I am REALLY surprised that you did not recognize the name Henk Poort. He played the Phantom on stage 600+ times and he was Andrew Lloyd Webber's personal favorite in the role.

That last note. I heard the original too and it is higher but really short. I love it that Floor chose a little lower note but holds it steady like forever. 😊

Henk was Floor inspiration when growing up. He sings The Sound of Silence for Floor, but does the band Disturbed version. Absolutely beautiful. Floor also does some other good songs during the Show. You should also check her out in the Band Nightwish Live at Wacken. Songs Ghost Love Score, Romanticide, Storytime

She did several covers on The Zinger show and did a marvelous job of each one...

"I know this song, I know what is coming" just before Henk's growls was priceless.

There is nothing that Floor can't do. That's what makes her one of the best singers in the world. Not only can she do it all but she has this ability to make people feel. The goosebumps you got at the beginning is what we call a Floorgasm because whenever she sings she causes a feeling of ecstacy.

Feeling like it is the invasion of the Nightwish army to guide you to the Wacken concert 2013. Like your reaction😉...and be preperd for the already famous Floorgasm😁😁 when you go into the rabithole called Nightwish And don't be at shock when you hit the 50K+ views
