Capacitor was dome shaped unlike the others, it cost 59p at Maplins to buy replacement & it sorted out the flashing lights. Great video and very simple repair, even for people with no experience of soldering/circuit boards etc.

Excellent video, glad you re-published the correct capacitor polarity, it did confuse me at first. Your tip to photograph connectors was good. I put a bit of coloured tape around each connector loom and took a photo every time I disconnect a connector. At the end it's probably a good idea to test the flashing lights go out before putting back and securing all the components. It gave me a little more confidence before reconnecting the washer to the water supply & drain. Thanks.

I also managed to repair Hotpoint WF541 Aquarius washing machine with all lights flashing, i took the board out, same bulging cap, I replaced it with a 1000uf 25v slightly bigger than original cap and the cover fitted OK, the machine now works like new, many thanks indeed, saved my self a fortune and the cost of this cap 25p, plus about an hour of my time. Brilliant!

Thank you so much. My dryer (Ariston) had the same symptoms.. This video made me brave enough to do all steps and... my dryer is finally working as never before :) Anyway, there were 2 exploded capacitors..680 and 470uF, 10V. I replaced them with voltage of 16V but in accordance with electronic parts seller, it does not matter. THANK YOU SO MUCH for that video.

Thanks for posting it worked a treat, capacitor was domed as you warned and I ordered capacitor from RS at 5:30pm and it arrived 7:45 next morning (couldn't believe how fast ) 5 units, I went for the 16v ones incase the voltage is spiking which caused the breakdown to occur as the size was the same. The only thing I couldn't work out was how to remove the top. I unscrewed the 2 screws at the back and tried pulling and lifting but seemed well stuck. I noticed a crack on the top front plastic so didn't want it to travel any further so just went direct to the circuit board. Cheers.

Followed the instructions and hey presto my washing machine lives🤟😎 was quoted £130 with call out to replace the board. Thank you Paul.

Brilliant tutorial, great clear voice when giving instructions. I have flashing lights Indesit model wil 123 so certainly feel confident to have a go. Also been told bearing may need replacing as spin is noisy. But I guess that's another tutorial and maybe this female will resort to some hair pulling in sorting that. Thanks again

Yet another revitalised machine, many thanks! I have just replaced all three caps on the board of my Indesit WITL 105 (this is a top loading model, but it has the same board as described here). No flickering LEDs anymore, and it is washing again :-) Although I had to buy a new soldering iron (my old one doesn't get hot enough for the lead-free solder used on the board), this was still much cheaper than having it done by a service technician.

Great piece of information Two of the capacitors were swollen on my board the 680uf and 470uf replaced both and machine faults cleared and ran perfectly. Many Many thanks

Just fixed a Hotpoint WT721 - same fault, C17 & C20 domed, bought replacements locally, despite not having soldered anything for many years, managed to get the old ones out and the new ones in, put it all back together and it works!!!

Works perfectly but I used 16v capacitor because 10v one I couldn't find anywhere but it's works and thanks to you it's really helped this video 👍

This is a great channel and I 've learned several tricks of the trade. It is advisable to check all the components ( pump, valves, motor, door lock etc) before replacing the circuit board ( new or repaired). Usually, things blown in the circuit board are due to short circuits in some of this working parts. Cheers!

I have just carried out this repair. I have never previously attempted soldering so it was a bit of a gamble. My big mistake was to buy a soldering iron that did not get hot enough to DE-solder the lead free solder on the PCB (Duratool soldering iron from ebay), So after a bit of struggle removing the old capacitor I thought I might have damaged the PCB. I re-installed the PCB with little faith in it working,plugged in the machine,loaded a test wash and - Da Daaaaaaa! it worked....Knock me down with a feather!!!!!!

(Hotpoint Aquarius WF541) Very useful video. Easy repair that saved a big repair bill. Make a note of your capacitor orientation re Pos and Neg connections. Video seems at odds with my repair. Photograph/mark all mother board connections before removal. Many thanks

Just like on your video the same capacitor was bulging at the top (10v/680μF/105 C). I replaced it and the wachine machine works fine (Indesit WIXXL 86).Minimum cost 140€ for the circuit board plaque plus about 50 € for the technician fee. I only bought a capacitor 0,123 cents. THANK YOU SO MUCH.

I cannot seperate the board (your video at 2:33) The manufacturer probably does not want anyone to repair these boards - what should I do?

My ancient Hotpoint Aquarius WT540 has a flashing light when you press in the ON button. The light above the ON button is the one that is flashing. Any suggestions as to the problem or fault? Many thanks for any help.

This smart card port for processing the board to the wash cycle... 0:48 does this mean if I bought a second hand module (which works) even if i swapped it over I could not get the washing machine to work because I have no smartcard reader or knowledge? Or is it ok as long as you get the same control module from the very same model machine?

Hi great videos and have helped in the past with previous problems but, and it's only a question, in this video you say that the capacitor that you are changing goes with the negative going to the left and the positive goes where the little white dot is. Is this unique to this washing machines PCB as the board itself would normally have the capacitor going in the opposite way ?? Cheers for the advice...

My washer its an Indesit XWA9 1683 is half full of water and washing and the lights at the side keep flashing. Ive tried putting it on other programs ..like spin/drain...or a small load and it wont empty. I dont want to try and open the door because of the amount of water in the machine....What can I do????

I have a new Indesit IWC9142C model. Working ok, but now when pug in, press on/off seems not working first, but after about 4 minutes all light start flashing with Start/Paus light as yellow and rest are green. Hi guys. Good to see videos like this. However, on this occasion, I changed the (domed) capacitor as described, (-) correct on the white circle side, but flashing lights continued their dance as before. Any ideas?

We brought our Hotpoint machine home from the UK to NZ. We have the flashing light situation and the few repair men we have in our town aren't interested in coming to repair the machine because the brand isn't sold here. I have worked through the KZread video, took out the control panel and took it to a computer tech company. They tested all the capacitors and reckon they are all fine. I have put it back together and depressingly still have all the lights flashing. Any other suggestions?

Just ready to do mine as above and found the top is bulbous and not flat but no break through however the one next to it the C20 470uf capacitor is the same with what appears very small light brown insulation coming through the centre of the cross. I get these lights flashing in mine , but mine if I leave flashing goes off after 3 or 4 mins and I am able to use so is this the same problem??? Any help would would be gratefull

hello , i program my wash machine at 30 min and it never finish or it take over 1.30 hour to finish,i try different program and the same think happent all the time.

Great video, a bit of a fiddle to get the circuit board box out of the machine (our Hotpoint aquarius washer/dryer has the motor in a more intrusive place than on thevideo), otherwise straightforward, and we now have a working machine again. Many thanks!

Hello I have a indesit xwa81682 washing machine. Symptons board would light up , door would lock, machine would not start any cycle. I checked the basics and have replaced the door loc. However the machine door lock is still activating the minute i power up. the only way to get it unlocked is to cut power . Any thoughts o what to do next

Going to try fix it this week. Been broken for 6 month s but got broken foot and been in hospital, desperate to wash my clothes, just need to find a tv repair shop since I have no solder iron .

Hi mate, my mothers hoitpoint 7kg washine machine ultima digit WT746/WT741 in last couple weeks,the LCD's and lights been flashing like in video,but sometimes it goes back to normal with pressing switch(on/off) couple times.. Is this the same fault as in your video.. If so will this work for the model I have stated ?? Many thanks in advance and PS Nice video.. PS Were could I get the capacitor from? many thanks. I tried to find it on your site but no joy! please can you post the link Thanks

Thank you. The repair cost me 79p with a capacitor from Maplin.

Maplin is no longer in business, you can try many other outlets one such being Rapid Electronics, Farnell Electronics, R S Components etc etc and may be you can also get a similar size cap 680uf 10v you can use any higher voltage like 1000uf 16v or even 25 volts cap. when fitting observe the white vertical mark it should face the small square chip with about 6 legs, it is an optocoupler, so this cap should go right way around, wrong way it can blow up like again and ruined

please help !! washing maschine indesit, model will 133, flashing the first light (extra rinse) and the third (stain removal) and the start light also flashing. what error code is that?? thanks!!!
