You have great skills in imparting Honda Knowledge Sebastian, well done!.. I'm about to change the glow plugs on my crv (same engine) with all the fear mongering on the net regarding snapped glow plugs - Interestingly never heard this applying to Japanese engines. A little reassurance and advice would go along way and much appreciated! Thank you again.

Brilliant video and suggestion... I cured mine by changing the fuel filter, this had been on the car for about 50,000 miles or maybe more. Swapping this for a new one almost deleted exhaust smoke completely, gave the car a so much more responsive feel, and, the yellow warning light went out after a few minutes and has not come on since... (so far) If it does return in the next few weeks, then this video will give me my next port of call...

Thank you for the video mate! Your filter sock compared to mine was clean as mine was all brown covered and blocked. Thanks :)

Fyi to anyone reading. I had the same issue. Mines an 04 with 210k miles. I tried new fuel filter, cleaning the sender sock, testing the fuel flow regulator on the pump, checking the egr valve, return injector flow test pretty much everything lol and was no good. Mine flashed with the engine not even on!. I bit the bullet and went to the stealers. The ecu needed an update (iv read about civics with the same issue) problem solved 85 notes to the stealers mind but im happy.

Hi how did you fix it? Did you replace the sock or buy a new one?

Hello, I have a honda civic gen8 2.2 CTDi. I just realised the glow plugs never been changed, got 153k on the clock, no missfires. Been taking really good care of the car since I bought it, general maintance done. Just passed MOT with no advisories, beside all the care, everytime I start the car and I am not moving, it smells like diesel inside (no leaks, already been checked by 3 diferent mechanics). Could this be a cause? Any ideias or sugestion? Thank You

@@plumbteam cheers. Did you have any issue bleeding the air off afterwards? did you just pump the the filter whilst the bleed nut was open? I changed my filter for the bosch one only 3 months ago. Theres no way thats blocked already..
