Just a little note: Flashprint can actually use linear support structures as well, not just treelike. You simply have to change the support settings.

100% agree. Let me add that after my initial impression, I recommended these for the library systems in Southern Utah. A dozen dozen of these across 7 public libraries with public usage and besides a little training everyone gets, there've been a ton of people who have been 3D printing and I've hardly had to touch the things. #1 recomendation.

But then...I recently got this machine and I was able to print 4 successful prints with 0 issues. I recently have been having major problems. 1 when I start a print it says “filament error” and stops the machine while there is nothing wrong with the filament or any type of clog as the print is coming out perfect. And 2 the printer will print smoothly for literally about half the build and then it will stop extruding. So as you can imagine I need help please!

Thor if Monoprice really wanted their printer to be able to print these things its customers say it can print there probably would not be such hype about it.I mean think about it. Here we have a machine capable of printing just a tiny cube and thats it. And if people try to make it print something else it usually leads them nowhere.

@@Yatukih_001 I don't know what you're talking about. 150×150×150mm is enough build volume for 99% of my prints. I can print in a drafty living room with the adventurer 3. I can even print with windows open. Also with less noise than my ender 2 with motor dampeners. My ender 2 can only print from USB connection. SD slot didn't last. I've never had to physically connect or use SD card on adventurer 3 because of internet and wifi connection. I got what I paid for with adventurer 3. Not so much with ender 2. My creality is mostly collecting dust because of missing bootloader, and no thermal run away protection.

What I've discovered is that underneath the bed there is also a steel plate with strings. So if there is more pressure in the middle it will give a little bit. Using a brim also helped to get better adhesion in areas closer to the edges. Since the bed is only 150*150 this is probably acceptable. If the bed was 200 or larger I guess this wouldn't work anymore

This is really up to you to decide. I mostly use Blender to do all my 3D models, but that is only because i have almost 10 years of experience using Blender. My friend uses 3Dmax as that is what they have used for years. Something like Solidworks will probably give you the best results as it is an industry standard for engineers and designers, but might have a steep learning curve.

Freecad maybe... also sketchup which is really easy to learn, also got lots of plugins... Blender is awesome though, but as a beginner it is not easy!

Yes, you can make it work. Take the initial lines from their sample gcode files of the Adventurer 3 and put them in the start g-code of CURA

Wondering if you still have this printer and if it kept giving adhesion problems on bigger prints. I'm thorn between going for this or an ender 3 v2 as first printer (honestly not really going to print much ABS but I need something silent as the printer will stay on m bedroom)

I kept searching more, and ended getting it about a month ago (arrived about a week and half ago, so I've had so far 3 full days ,aka 12-15h prints, printing + 4 days of 4-6h ones, only 1 failed print out of those, and 1 semi failed as didn't print to size but that's my fault on cura and being careful with dimensions)

Flashforge printers have been having a lot of issues lately and it almost all comes down to them cheaping out with garbage quality Chinese stepper motors for the extruder. No matter how much I clean out the nozzle, which is brand new now, with new bowden tubes and everything else, the extruder continues clicking away. Even slowing down the print and increasing temps doesn't help. It's not just the adventure 3 either. it appears they've used the same under-spec stepper motor for pretty much their whole product line.

I use a scraper for larger rests of filament and isopropanol alcohol to clean up any rests of adhesion glue/spray. Depends on what material you use and if you are using additional adhesion helpers.

I’m sorry the only thing I need to complain about is yes, thermal expansion is real, but under 400 degrees for most material it’s less than .001 to .002 expansion so coming from someone who studied metallurgy it’s annoying to hear about in every single video on 3D printing it’s not an issue for calibration, it’s an issue with bridges, press fits , and super tight tolerances parts. But overall great video
