Great review! Love that you didn't give up on the printer. I really dig the style and features! I doubt the average Joe\Jane will take these steps and try to dial in this printer. Most likely they will either think this is the way prints are suppose to look, or return the printer.

I know that companies like to include their own slicer so they can "pre-configure" the printer to work out of the box, but they should not make it so difficult to use your own choice in slicers. Great video brother!

The Flashforge firmware is based off of Sailfish, (and therefore Makerbot's original firmware) which had their origin at the center. As for Cura, we also use it in the Polar Cloud to slice for all Flashforge machines.

that was very detailed review chirs...loved all the aspects When you are selling proprietary printer and keeping everything not open to public.... The customer would expect plug and play for 499$...... after having 2 ender3 and i decided to go for prusa and i am not using ender for atleast a year now.. both my enders are eating dirt.... reason is not i am a prusa fan ... i never really had to level my printer.. once load your file to printer there is nothing much that can go wrong with prusa... its really fast... can get awesome texture at the bottom... etc.. all these Chinese companies has a very complicated bed leveling..i would go for Prusa mini any time.... powerful slicers features coming in next update.. awesome bed leveling and great customer support.....

Something else to consider: if you have pets and want to have your 3D printer in the house, a hard enclosure is VERY helpful. Now if I could only prevent them from jumping on top of the case to get warm while the unit is printing - that still causes the occasional print issue.
