this is actually a pretty easy problem to solve with technology and antitheft innovations. Rather than spend a few hundred thousand dollars to implement, they would rather just close the store altogether and maybe lose millions which makes no sense

@@weho_brian It makes sense when you realize that a big company like, say, Target in NYC, doesn't want to deal with 40 lawsuits from the families of 40 different 'youths' that got 'illegally imprisoned' by their company. It's always all about money, and they've decided they will lose more money keeping the stores open than trying any sort of anti theft measure. It's not like Target just one day said "lmao we dont like money lets move out of there" they've been dealing with the worsening situation around the country for years.

If they end up being armed, it turns into a potential hostage situation with innocent people inside. Corporations don't want to deal with that outcome and lawsuits involved. There is a task force in CA going after these organized crimes and I believe they busted one a few months ago that were stealing from cargo trains and taking entire truckloads off warehouse docks. They'll get to the smaller groups soon.

That method might work in smaller shops but imagine how many people are shopping normally in, say, a Target or Walmart or Home Depot (all closing shops down all over the country because of these thefts) and then suddenly say 10, 20, 30 of these 'youths' rush in and start grabbing everything. If they lock a mother and her young children in there with the animals, that's a recipe for disaster. There's probably already an action or horror movie with that plot LOL
