Or even worse, you buy an Asus Rog strix pre-built ON SALE for $2350 CAD only to realise it's impossible to improve on the appalling air cooling they have chosen, not even 2 case fans to be found (or possible to install without adding a fan controller) Long story short, this garbage PC was returned.

It's bordering on cynical, trying to make it look appealing to non tech savvy buyers when there's no way they don't know it's compromising cooling. A lot of cheap little consumer boxes are designed that way, the makers assume that because a given chip is rated to 110C they don't have to concern themselves with air-flow/cooling (any time you touch one of said boxes, e.g. a media streamer and it's nice and toasty on the outside, you can bet there's a chip or two sitting at egg-frying temps inside it).
"I'll fix the computer!" Plays battlefield all day...
Given how pre-built gaming PCs are as popular as ever (Due to GPU shortages), this video was so desperately needed. Most pre-builts are poorly designed for thermals, and videos like this will help a lot of gamers. Great job.

Yeah I just bought a prebuilt. Im waiting for it to be delivered right now. I prefer to build Pcs myself but this time around I snagged a prebuilt for a 3070. Many of the prebuilts had conflicting reviews so I bought the brand with the least amount of complaints/crashes. I hope It's decent.

This is actually the kind of information that is useful to people. Another suggestion would be to move those front fans to the inside of the case to divert an easier airflow for that slot down the side.

This was like a REALLY GOOD video, congrats. I felt like the content was kind of in a plateau. Although I do enjoy your videos because they are entertaining it was just that, plain entertainment. This video was really informative and overall the content I think was way better than the past few videos. Same entertainment value, plus technical tips content, really amazing. In my experience I had to play a lot with thermals on my computer. It is technically a CyberPowerPC pre-built but I was able to change things around. What really helped of course was changing the cheap fan for an AIO, but working through different fan setups, I ended up allowing the graphics card to run cooler. I did notice an improvement on performance as I am sure the card was thermal throttling. But I like your ideas of going one step further and actually seeing if you can do something else to make the graphics card cooler thinking outside the box. Keep the good stuff coming Dawid!
Love the videos! You rock.
The new office is looking sharp!

Good job David!
I have used many 212's over the years and they have always done the job. The new all black ones look even nicer. My last build had the dreaded i7-7700K which was known for being a hot CPU. With the 212 and lowering the stock voltage slightly, it never went over 65 degrees during stress tests and ran at full boost speeds.
Really enjoyed that one 👍🏻

Really like what you’ve done with the new studio and the step up in production quality! I’ve followed the 8-bit Guy building and moving to his new studio, but honestly, that all looks quite tacky (even worse than it used to be) in comparison.
Love your vids
The Coolmaster 212 series of coolers are great, especially if you can score them on a sale! I bought a 212+ EVO and a 212 LED for $15 each after mail in rebate years ago. The LED one is still in the box, while the EVO is on my main system which is a FX-8350. I added a second fan to it so I would have a push-pull config and it works great!
I have one of those Vetroo L5 coolers on my wife’s ITX build and was SUPER surprised at how well it cooled. I can’t speak much for the RGB as I don’t have the correct headers for it in that build but it was super cheap and of decent quality after about 6 months
This brings new meaning to working on abs....

You nailed it 😎👍
Ive seen many pre-build system in hungarian pc webshops, but they give you the option to choose the cpu cooler. The most common options are the DeepCool Gammaxx series, the CM Hyper 212(usually the RGB one) and the Alpenföhn series.
This has reinforced my desire to put fans in every mountable space in my ongoing pc build

Thanks Dawid great video. These little hints about upgrading coolers will help some of the first time system builders how to build a better system for penny's more. For those who want a prebuilt system what coolers to buy for best performance with there system configuration.

Had a similar issue with a very similar case. Fixed the airflow issue perfectly and stopped the glass side panel from being so hot you couldn't touch it.
I can confirm the vetroo cooler works great. I bought it with its associated fans to push and pull air, and my Ryzen 7 never goes over 65’ when playing Microsoft Flight Sim
for the front fans i suggest moving them from outside of the front case that is directly behind that tempered glass, and move them inside of the of the front frame and mount them there, so that there is space in front of the fans to allow it to suck air from the small holes on the sides of the front tempered glass, and it would not be just there doing nothing hahaha, just a suggestion tho
Those Vetroo coolers are a hit! Good cooling, easy install, really affordable.
Aw Dawid, the undisputed king of analogies!
Thanks mang!

You can also try to put the fans in the front on the other side(more inside the case) , that should give them more room to "breathe"
4:46 fantastic line
You should buy all of the best selling PC components and build it all into one pc. Probably end up with a GPU bottleneck, but the video will be entertaining. Great videos Dawid. Also, do you play guitar? You always have a guitar in the background of shots, they look amazing!
I had one of those Arctic accelero aftermarket gpu coolers back in the day. Made my r9 290 cool as a cucumber.
the top fans as exhaust may help pull more air in from the front, it works with my corsair 570X with all the tempered glass all around it.
An upgrade session that ends with the PC running cooler and more stable is a win.
Nice backdrop dude
ay i love corsairs af120 white leds, i have the older models and the refresh they did in my case. they work great
Great job! I was hoping you'd do a follow-up video! ;)
I have a 212, Gammaxx gt and that Vetroo cooler in 3 different builds, that little cheap Vetroo cooler is as good of not a bit better than the others 🤷🏽♂️ extremely good choice for a budget air cooler
My PC's audio glitched out RIGHT as you were saying the memory was just fine post memtest, and I literally had to go back and watch that part again to see if you had played another joke on us or not. Now i'm sad you didn't xD, it was perfect
About 8-9 years ago, I had those same fans (but with red LEDs) and that cooler together. The cooler is long since gone, but I only recently (in the past few weeks) replaced the fans after all this time (some of them were starting to rattle.)
love the shroud faces...
Please note system integrators, this is how to make sure you keep your customers happy so please do the basics and give your customers more reasons to become loyal repeat customers for years to come. Nice job Dawid. 👍
my prebuilt came with all the fans turned to exhaust and had temps in the upper 70's to about 80 C then I flipped half the fans around to intake and reapplied paste and temps fell about 7 C on average lol, ended up getting a big chonky aio for the cpu and the temps now rarely get above 70 but it's amazing how fan orientation can have such an impact
I have that cooler (Hyper 212 red LED version) on my i7-9700K, works fine for normal use. At 100% load, drawing its rated 95W, it doesn't get hot. The only time the temps creep up is when you run a synthetic CPU stress test where it will draw 140W, but these tests don't last long enough to be an issue.
this is one of the most underrated tech channels I swear
Yeah, I've used the Veetro V5 in a couple of builds now and it's really good at that price point. Plus... RGB.
The original cooler looked like a rajintek and they are shite, great video cheers!!!!
After building a system in a Matrexx 50, using a dental hook pick, pull the fine mesh out. It dropped my temps over 10 degrees C, got another 5 by rear side mounting the front fans, not the front were it looks prettier. Yes it did take some dremel work. I have alot of pics of that system, I could email them to you if your interested in the mod for that case.
I love a happy ending!
Nice video idea.
