Using stitch markers between repeats is the major tip that I have been looking for so that I can figure out where I am. Also showing us how to hold our row of stitches to the chart and compare it is so helpful. I will save this video to refer back to again and again when I need to see again how you tinked back the ssk's and K2tog's. Thank you soooo much for explaining this to us. I really appreciate it. (:

I love your teaching style. You explain why a stitch does what it does, the right and wrong of it. Thanks for this video but also the many hours put into this channel and other social media outlets. Hope your day is a great one.

I am so excited because I took your suggestion about using stitch markers between every repeat and now I am knitting an eyelet rib pattern and I can tell where I am and am not getting lost. Now I can tackle lace stitch patterns with a lot more confidence. Thank you so much. (:

Thanks Roxanne for this video. I have learned - the hard way - how to read my lace knitting and correct mistakes but this is a much more pro-active lesson and I appreciate your clear instructions and demos! It was especially helpful to see you think back and re-knit those ask stitches!

Roxanne, You have changed the way I look and feel about knitting through understanding. I actually knitted for the finished product but didn't care for the process. Now that I am beginning to "read" my knitting its so much more interesting. Thanks for your hard work and sharing your skill.

This is a great video! I had been knitting a lace-type pattern scarf and could not figure out to figure out my mistake when I had an extra stitch. I am so excited to have this stitch structure and tinking information! Thank you!

Thank you so much for this tutorial! It’s really helped me see the anatomy of the ssk and k2tog stitches. I am an adventurous beginner and I am learning so much thru your videos. I will swatch and place markers like you advise because I’ve made too many mistakes on my shawl blanket. I will not give up! ☺️

Great video! I am really good at tinkling and frogging but your video has taught me how to save some time and get the stitches remounted correctly. I get the job done but usually go into the stitches wrong and then , because I know how they should be mounted, I then fix them. This has been very helpful. Thanks so much! As a suggestion for a future video I’d love to see one on doing a Brioch knit stitch in the Continental method and even English. I’ve seen too many different ways! You have may already done a video but I haven’t found it. Thanks again! See you Friday!

Helpful video for new lace knitters. I remember knitting a ridiculously beyond my knitting skills lace shawl with beads, it was a nightmare of mistakes, each row of 400 stitches a challenge. I felt like I should have had a party thrown in my honor when a row had the right number of Stitches.

This is exactly what I needed! I had an UFO that was frustrating because I kept getting lost on a pattern that was repeated 9 times ( 2 times on each front 1/2 and 5 times on the back). The pattern didn’t call for markers so I didn’t think to use them....silly me! This is brilliant!

I agree with Susan, undoing the SSK and the special decreasing stitches usually give me trouble. The main trouble I have in lace is that I forget what I am doing on the back side (usually purling) I find myself knitting instead and that's when I must tink back. What is frustrating is I take time to check each section on the right side and not so much on the back and go happily along until I notice some purl bumps on the right side that shouldn't be there. Then I must rip out till my lifeline. I'd like to learn to read my patterns enough that I can just go down the 2 or 3 columns to fix a mistake. Thank you for these videos!

I can read my work. I count and I am off. I compare to the pattern and everything seems OK, but I have an extra stitch or two at the end of my row. Two rows later I am missing the stitch or stitches I decided to decrease since I couldn't find the mistake. Many rows later I am missing an entire repeat!

Thanks Roxanne. I would so love to see how one would tink back on an I-Cord bind off? so it can be redone. I bound off on section and joining a second section continuing the i-cord and the transition wasn't a nice flow it isn't twisted or seemed as if a tiny part wasn't there then it continued on. So I thinked back to the three stitches left on each needle. Now im lost. Do you think you could help possibly?

Hi Roxanne, it’s me again! Lol. I am starting to learn lace and my issue is that the material I am creating is beautiful and follows the pattern, however the material gets wider and wider because at the edge somehow I am adding stitches! This pattern I found in a “Knitting Patterns” book and have been unable to find it anywhere else (maybe there is a typo) (or maybe a video??) but the pattern is a repeat of 12 stitches and 5 rows BUT offset once you get to the second “set” of leaves (5 rows). And I’m not sure how to do the edges since that is where I am growing the stitches. Love from MN

I have made a MISTAKE HELP!! Its a simple lace with purling on the back. I learned a long time ago to finish my row before setting my project down. My 9 yr.old had a seizure so I through my project down Something's are way more important than the row. I'm 8-10stiches in before I realize I'm working right side instead of purling on the wrong side. I've k,ktog,yo,k3 slip 1st over last 2 when I realized I'M on incorrect side. I try to back think but my working yarn is where I stopped! And I have latters from I don't know what. Help! How do I fix this?? Can I put in a lifeline in a previous worked row? If so how? Thank you I really hope you help
