Thank goodness we have innovative 3rd party developers. Soon I expect a water-cooling system for these cameras. Maybe that is asking for too much. Anyway, good to see a rather good solution to the heat problem. What many don't realize or 'see' is the torment we put these cameras through. As one who has built many computers for fun and a few for sale, cooling is a MAJOR issue. Computer users put their rigs through literal hell, hence we get water cooling and a thousand fans in our rigs. Same going for our cute little cameras. We don't realize those chips are buzzing long at billions of operations per second. That will create a lot of heat. Thanks for keeping us up on the latest.

I recently experienced an overheating issue with my Sony A7IV while recording a school concert in an indoor auditorium. Interestingly, I found that gently blowing on the back of the camera helped to alleviate the problem. The overheating icon disappeared whenever I did this, allowing me to continue recording. Based on this experience, I'm exploring the idea of using a small fan as a more permanent solution to manage the camera's temperature during extended use.

not recording to the sd card does generally help. and the dummy battery can provide a little help at times depending on the camera. it doesn’t help much with the a6700 or zv-e1. are you having overheating issues with the A7iv?

Mine falls off within minutes... so the rubber band is a good call! This fan did allow me to do a 4k Livestream for about 70 minutes with no overheat warning! I had the fan plugged into USB-C the whole time because my fan has started dying quickly. It's not too big of a deal for me since I wanted it for live streaming, and I can plug it in any way. It is worth the price, it is a little finicky, but it'll do!

I found that Firmware v1.02 also helped with USB streaming. My streaming would overheat in ambient conditions like yours even in 720P. It is unlimited with 1.02 in 720P and no fan. I can go 33 minutes on 4K30 without the fan. I wonder if there is any difference if you don't using the fan sticker since the fan falls off anyway. only in rare circumstances. 95% of the time I use my zv-e1 without it. it’s just nice to have when you’re using the zv-e1 in a way that it isn’t intended for - like long 4k60

Did you not see the part where I said I put an elastic around it because mine falls off without it? I have used mine for 2 months with no issues. I don’t hard sell anything. I don’t get paid by the companies - i just review what I like.
