    It is so painful when I try to run. You think the sock and the shoes insert will help?

    I couldn't possibly tell you if sock or shoe inserts will help you without having examined your foot problem. That being said, any type of shoe insert or orthotic is usually a Band-Aid... they can help relieve the symptoms in some situations, but they don't fix the underlying muscle imbalance or biomechanical problem that cause the foot pain and need for the inserts in the first place.

    Thanks, this was very helpful as there is so much different info on arch pain. I've had really bad arch pain but I'm also almost 300 pounds at 5'10". Have alot of muscle so not just fat so I move where I put alot of strain on my flat feet. I'm pretty sure my weight just puts a ton of strain on my arches. Have you seen heavier people lose weight and then the pain gets better?

    Losing weight can definitely help. It's still a good idea to work on the mechanical issues mentioned in the video, but the more weight you carry, the stronger your muscles have to be to compensate for the extra weight.
