    It would be cool to have the capsule be its own tree of vehicles, and different ones would give %bonuses similar to inbuilt ship bonuses. Also faction capsules would be cool.

  • @JuriusDoctor

    @JuriusDoctor

    This is actually a really great idea, and something I thought of several times before. The issue I see is that CCP will invariably try to monetize this, and unless the capsules bring something specific to the table I don't see this going forward. The challenge is that if you give them any sort of storage space they compete with shuttles. However, I do think that a range of capsules should be available and they should be able to be crafted by players

    @@JuriusDoctor my idea is: A fitting capsule-ads some CPU, PG, stuff like that, not much tho. Damage- increases damage simple Tank- self explanatory And so on. Then variation on them would be specifics, So maybe you only need PG and not CPU so there is a capsule that gives you 50% more PG but no CPU And damage and tank could focus on specific damage types or turret sizes or drones And then there would be faction capsules, and those would not give flat stats, but instead increase the already existing bonuses of the ship. So a heron with a caldari capsule would have more scan strength and better virus coherence for example (although with this implementation faction capsules would be the most expensive ones so putting them in a heron would not be viable) basically capsules would be a little like another more general implant slot, that also actually is visible to anyone who kills you, even if it's only on z-killboard. I dunno how good or bad this idea is, I pitched it to my friend and he says it creates a lot of problems for not a lot of improvement for the game itself. At the end of the day just having different capsule model with no actual tangible benefit besides dripp would be good enough for me. I want a golden globe of peak Amar engineering.

    Great video sir. To clarify, how do you find out your orbit distance you need to maintain to actively hit the ship and go fast enough to avoid their hits?

  • @fiercemonkey1

    @fiercemonkey1

    5 жыл бұрын

    Short answer is you dont. Not all ships of the exact same fit will have the same stats. Best answer i can give you is experience. You can assume some things as time goes by like if you see a tornado off in the distance from you can assume hes gonna snipe you with a artillery salvo, how far is far enough? How fast is safe enough? How safe is safe enough? To many factors go into that shot to know specifically what is what. Your never gonna know all the info about you opponents to make those calculations on the spot. The best you can do is research all of the ships (or as many as you can) and learn from experence. For example you can make it hard for them to hit you like heavy ecm or tracking disrupt, keep warp outs in the state of play, and most importantly do what you can to pick your own battles.

    Hey, I'm a new eve player and I watched a couple of your videos. Here is my thought process in tanking matter: If I only go for shield tank or armor tank against a potentional unknown opponent I'm weaker, because they can have something to counter my particular tank. (There are 4 outcomes, 2 of which is favourable for me and 2 where I'm basically dead, where I have either of the 2 tanks and the opponent either of the 2 tank counters) So if I have a mix of them I'm in the middle ground where my chances are not too good or not too bad, 4 case when it is "normalized". Well of course I didn't counted for warping away if you get a bad matchup or the enemy warping away when you have a good matchup, but still can you explain why is it better to go for one? (I watched the video and understand that getting for example an armor fitting on a shield tank ship is essentialy taking away a space for a potential shield fitting or something else, I still think that there are cases when it is the right thing to do (not always of course).

    Three points to state: 1. Not all ships are suited to, or designed for, solo combat. Some ships just have a weak tank. 2. You're operating from a place of risk mitigation (fear), instead of from a place of tactical advantage. The more tank you fit, the less space you have to increase damage output. You tank doesn't matter if you can't kill the other guy. You will lose ships, better to plan for it and have spare ships. 3. It is always worse to fit two half-assed tanks than one decent tank. My suggestion to you is to learn how to use PyFA (a Python-based Fitting Assistant), and practice making fits and having them critiqued by people who are better at PvP than you. Join a PvP-focused corporation.

    One thing i would like to add to what Jurius said is to tank your ship to what its supposed to in most situations. So that means research you ship! Things like Armor tanking a rattlesnake, or structure tanking a astero are bad ideas. Make sure you know the ship your fitting and not guessing. Read kill mails to learn from others stupidity, but more importantly from your own. If you fit somthing and it works great! If you fit somthing and it sucks? Also great because you know what not to do. Pay careful attention to what you do wrong. Also, you are the person flying what you fit on your ship. If you hear "do this great awesome thing!" Keep a sceptical mind. Not all fits work for all toons and you may have to do somthing crazy like a full slave implant set to pull it off.

    Do you realise how small the text from your wide screen monitor is by the time KZread has compressed it and put it up on someone's iPad? The fit window is only using 1/4 of the screen, too. The content is priceless, but I keep zoning out be cause I can't tell what anything is because it's rendered so small. Maybe switch to a 'presentation' resolution when you're recording tutorials?

    My volume levels for system, headphones, youtube and monitor were at max while I was watching the video. Usually getting around 60-70 dB which is pretty loud still, now less than 50 dB. Highest I got was when you sniffed to make 55 dB lol. Just in case you didn't know, dB is a logarithmic unit which means that just because two numbers are not that far apart dosn't mean that there isn't a big difference. Here's a quick read on dB en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Decibel#Definition, not that you need it ofc, just saying it's there. And yes I did just relisten to the video again just to double check if there was something wrong with my system setting. There wasn't.
