You can go to an online university and get your CompTIA certification while still being confused about the terms, spending thousands of dollars in the process. Or you could watch this course, do a bit more research to fully understand the topics, and likely come out with the same measure of knowledge. It seems we are really paying a bunch of money just for a sheet of paper saying we know our stuff.

There were no "config" simulations per say but mostly drag and drop type questions, the rest just being multiple choice. I highly suggest going through each objective point by point and start taking practice tests. Also, I've been told to watch professor messer but I had my resource with Mike Meyers and this video! *I know you asked for practice but I like to give a little background first :) I actually attained my CCNA through WGU late last year when it was 100-101/102. I used Ucertify with the OCG + CBT Nuggets + Boson. If I had to do it over again WITHOUT the school providing me everything, here is what I would do: 1. Purchase the Official Cert Guide AND Sybex Guide by Todd Lammle. 2. Purchase the Ex-Sim Max for CCNA by Boson 3. Purchase the Boson NetSim for Cisco (www.boson.com/netsim-cisco-network-simulator) No I'm not sponsored by Boson, I just trust the material! You could also get away with getting Packet Tracer for free but I would like to have the labs already set up for me with instructions so that's why I went with Boson. Let me know if you need any direction. Don't forget about the CCNA Reddit here, which I would post your same question there to see if you get different responses: www.reddit.com/r/ccna/ Professer Messer just came out with study notes here for CCENT: www.professormesser.com/icnd1/

It's hard to narrow down how much of this video was on the exam, but in general knowing all this info will help you on the exam. I'm not familiar with the differences of 006 and 007. Personally I don't think there is that much that wouldn't be covered in any 006 materials. I used this video, Prof Messer's 007 series and Mike Meyers 007 Net+ book. I crammed for 2 weeks and passed with a 780. I could have done better but I procrastinated lol I had a year and waited until the end to really book it. That's just how I work sometimes I guess. Fully understand networking concepts, wifi setups, vlans, network troubleshooting. The questions are wordy and tricky. Really understand concepts and setups and again be prepared to be asked what you as a tech would do in a situation. I was hoping for more black and white questions and answers and that wasn't the case.

Great video. I'd like to add one clarification. Most modern devices have Ethernet auto mdix eliminating the need for crossover cables. For devices without Ethernet auto mdix, the crossover cable shown at 0:32:44 has a 50/50 chance of working for 10Base-T and 100Base-T networks depending on which end you put where. To ensure it works either way and to use it for Gigabit networks it should be configured as follows 1-3, 2-6, 3-1, 4-7, 5-8, 6-2, 7-4 and 8-5. This will result in a crossover cable that is symmetrical in both directions and will work with Gigabit networks.
