    I have an explanation... "Toll booth"... if you have 4 roads (threads) and 2 booth (cores), you have more chance that cars will arrive and spread evenly making the 2 toll booths working optimally and not idle. If you had only 2 roads (threads), sometimes one of your booth could get idle because cars could be stuck in one road and couldn't spread evenly. More threads = spread the load evenly to the cores, making them not getting idle and working optimally.

    The first question you have to ask yourself is what do you prefer. Switches or Bitches? The answer is not as simple as it seems.

    I get it now, thanks. Liked. But then, isn't 340 undecillion IP addresses overkill? I mean it's future proofing but damn they could've just produced a trillion IP addresses and we'd be good for a long while lmao. Just seems like a vast waste of resources

    @@JJFlores197 Because it's memory...all those IP addresses have to be stored somewhere right?

  • @JJFlores197
    @JJFlores197Күн бұрын

    @@keifer7813 Even if that had to be stored somewhere, after all, its just a bunch of numbers and letters, the amount of space needed is negligible. Storage space is incredibly cheap nowadays. And plus, most routers support IPv6 and they don't have large amounts of storage capacity. In fact, IPv6 addresses aren't "stored" anywhere.

    Wps is the biggest dang joke I've ever seen. I just went to a Goodwill and spent 20 bucks on an old router because I have a couple of cameras at my rental house that I'm not allowed to remove that only support WPS. No web UI no. You're supposed to be able to configure it with HTTP GET request, but that's not working. So WPS is my only solution to take on these old cameras that I can't replace. Absolutely ridiculous

    I have one question. In this video, you said a small cable will connect the switch with the patch panel. Is this cable called the patch cord. ? I see some yellow color patch cords. But dont have much information about them. Where and Why are they used. ? Pls reply.

  • @JJFlores197
    @JJFlores197Күн бұрын

    Its a standard ethernet cable, but we use the term "patch cable". The color doesn't necessarily matter. In well organized networks, you designate different colors for different purposes - say blue patch cable for computer work stations; green for VOIP phones; purple for security cameras, etc.

    The link for the switch you gave is for an Unmanaged switch - can you do VLAN's with and Unmanaged switch ?

  • @JJFlores197
    @JJFlores197Күн бұрын

    Unmanaged switches have no configuration options so you can't setup or configure VLANs. You will need a managed switch. Not sure why he put that switch.
