Fishing For Whatever Bites At Okaloosa Island Pier

Okaloosa Island Fishing Pier in Florida cost $8 to fish and $2 to walk. I believe it is open 24 hours 7 days a week. Here you can see me work a sabiki rig in the morning since it was slow then switched to a plug at sunset to target mackerel, but ended up with more blue runners.

I'm fronm Tennessee and go fishing here several times on our yearly Florida vacation. I've had really good luck out on the end using a bubble rig. Great fun! I'll have to check out Navarre.

Ill have to do a video on that soon! For this video I was using a 1oz plug linked it in my description. Check out my Navarre pier video youll see how I work it. Twitch twitch pause reel in slack then repeat. Youll slay macks and blue runners or whatever bites at the surface. Blue fish and lady fish too. If you want to target lady fish I see guys use sabikis where the waves crash at Okaloosa. I prefer Navarre pier though

Depends where in FL. During this month in May it was the hard tail run in the pan handle. But you can catch them any month really. I have videos of me fishing the gulf, east and west coast of florida on various dates from spring to summer

I used both spoons 3/4oz and got cha plugs in 7/8oz or 1oz tied to a leader line so they cant see it. Twitch the lure up twice pause reel you can see it on my Navarre video catching blue runners 16min non stop action. Lot of people have an extra rod with a bucktail jig on just in case Cobia's come the plyings. Get you some sabiki rigs too. Mackerel, blue runners, lady fish and white bait can be caught on them. Youll see a lady to my left slaying it in that video with sabikis. Everyday is different so best to have it all and be ready to change it up. Bottom fishing is slow but you can use a Carolina rig tbh a high low rig works too. Get you live shrimp or fresh shrimp universal bait for anything. Kingfish are hitting rn just throw a live white bait if you catch one on a hook and pray 😂 Pompano if you're lucky. Use goofy jig off the pier yank yank let it drop a little then reel. Repeat. Macks and blues will hit too Check out my description ive linked everything for visuals if you want to see brands and sizes etc 🎣

7/8oz or 1oz gotcha plugs on 30lb flurocarbon leader will catch you all pelagics. Then get you a small sabiki put small fresh dead shrimp on. Get you small fish. Use that to live line on a 1/0 or 2/0 carolina rig with a long leader should catch you bigger fish

If you come in april mackerel blues everything should start running. For lures throw a 1oz gotcha plug. Bait use the freshest shrimp as possible on a dropped rig. Might be a lot of pin fish. Can use fishbite or fish gum.
