What I love about Bama Saltwater is that he's a normal person with normal gear just fishing and sharing the knowledge. Keep up the great work!

I’d hardly call van staal reels “normal”. I mean for his caliber of fisherman it’d be normal, but for the average guy that OCCASIONALLY rents a boat or maybe owns a small one, this is exceptional gear

Honestly, if you invest in your hobbies then I would highly suggest 'saving' for high end quality gear. Especially around salt water. I bought a VS almost 25 years ago and still use it. So if you take the total investment of a quality reel and quality rod, take care of it, and use it appropriately. It'll last and it's an up front investment that has dividend returns.

@@Lrn2reason I wish I knew that sooner. Buying 1 stradic and 1 g loomis as a 900 dollar combo is much better than destroying 10 medium level combos that are very lower in quality, made in China. But I understand if you can't afford it, just be careful with your gear guys
Landing a large Dolphinfish usually takes 2 or sometimes 3 people to maneuver, gaff, and bring into the boat. Bama Saltwater Fishing: "I do what I want." Lol.

Your excitement in fishing generates excitement for those watching. Stephen, you represent our State well. Those who follow you are sincere in their comments as you really do explain things better than anyone else out there. Thank you, from a fellow Alabamian.

Sitting on my couch in Oregon in the rainy season bored. Your videos are such a delight to watch! Keep posting brother, I love the content!
Found your channel about a month ago. My father and I and better not forget the wife have enjoyed it so much. You explain things so well from the start until the end result(chowing down). My father who is 88 yrs old has end stage kidney disease and is under hospice care while he stays with my wife and I. He grew up in Florida doing a lot of the same stuff that you do. It really perks him up when we sit down and watch you catching all those fish. You seem like a really cool guy and thanks for making an old guy and an older guy’s day when we kick back and enjoy your videos!!! Thank you and best of luck on the water.

thanks brother!!!!!!
The fact you didn’t lose the rod when that amber jack hit. That’s experience more than talent. 👏👏
My favorite thing about the bull dolphin is how angry they always look. It’s borderline cute.
I fish alone alot it's some kind of feeling being the only one in sight miles out to sea. Love the feeling of adventure that the wrong company can ruin sometimes. Enjoy life .
When you know how to fish. It don’t matter what the setup is 💯 congrats on that beautiful dorado

Great video as always Stephen!!!! Great Mahi!!! Gotta love seeing those tight weed lines with logs floating near them!! Tight Lines!!
I constantly learn something about fishing from you. Like my own personal coach!
I love every time Steven so happy and enjoying his fights. Man youre so fun to watch!
I thought I was the only person crazy enough to do trips off shore like that in a bay boat. I will have to get a go pro and film one of mine for you to enjoy. Your fun to watch
It was great watching you talk about the grass. choose where you fight a fish, use that trolling motor to pull him out of it as you reel him in

I love that he said he likes to give the taste of the fish the spotlight and then covers the tacos with that relish 😂
So amazing! I gotta stop watchin these videos when my fridge is empty!!!!! I'm starvin now!
Awesome as always really appreciate how you break things down for everyone to see and how you respect what you catch thank you
Steven Im retired US Army that grew up Saltwater fishing off the coast of Tybee Island in Savannah, I've been watching your videos since you started your channel and Im a true fan...I've said this a couple times, but I think you should do a Bama Saltwater cookbook with all of your recipes and publish it. Throw in a self advertising plugs about the book at the end of every video you make. I feel it would sell 10's of thousands of copies. I would sure buy a copy.
i need a beer after that Dolphin!! What a blast Steve
I have recently found your channel and so glad i did! You certainly do a great job on the videos. Catch clean n cook, going to a variety of areas, showing different ways to fish and what you are using helps me personally, and im sure a lot of others that vicariously fish thru you. I live in central MS, and i do go to the coast 2-3 times a year to fish. I absolutely love fishing at the coast, but in the meantime im watching it on youtube. So, thank you Stephen! You make me want more of it! God bless you sir and your family!
I love how you said “briketts” not “brick-etts”. You’re awesome.
Love this! I'm not sure I would go that far out alone. Thanks for the videos of our beautiful Gulf of Mexico! Keep them coming!
You need to sell some shirts that say,” Look at those loins!”😂😂😂
What an awesome and exciting trip. I’m not sure I could handle the anxiety of being that far out alone but you are fearless. Beautiful dolphin too !!!
Awesome catches. Those fights were amazing. Great video Stephen. Love how you are able to give so much valuable information.
I love the Alabama pronunciation of "briquettes." I've never heard anybody say it that way before.
Thanks for this video. Always so much fun to see how people prep and cook their fish. You really do take care of the fish. I would eat saltwater fish every day if I could. That Mahi was awesome. On my bucket list.
Love your videos dude! You slay em every time! I get super excited whenever I see a new video of yours pop up on the screen. Keep up the great work!
Steve I enjoy your videos each week. Thank you for your service to our Country!
Awesome video from start to finish. Really enjoy your content! Keep them coming.
SO Awesome! What a fun fight with that Mahi! another GREAT video man. Yer killin' it! Maybe your best video yet.
Hey, that was well done! You bring good energy and it was fun to watch. Top tier guide right here.
Love your catch & cook videos,,, Please keep making them ! Also I really like your ethics in the way you respect catch,,, I am talking about the way you humanly treat the fish !!!
Great video, I enjoyed it very much, keep them coming. Thank You.
Great content and nice surprise with the Mahi. I’ve enjoyed all your videos but really like the ones on the Gulf State Park Pier especially when I catch a glimpse of my aunt and uncle fishing next to you! Keep up the good work and stay safe!
Bama I really dig your channel and the lengths you go to educate the public. 2 things I think you really need to fix though are 1. You never go out that far alone. Never. It's just a really bad idea for so many reasons. take your most annoying neighbor if you have to but never go out alone offshore. 2. Never wrap the line as you do around your hand to pull fish out of the water not even for a second. All it takes is 1 time for a bigger fish to come up and grab it and pull you in while you are attached and you will be swimming for sure with whatever just ate your bait. Shark, Cuda, whatever. Other than that awesome show man. Keep on keeping on!
Enjoyed the videos! Simple and straight fishing!
That dorado jumpin was so cool! I also love the Hat Cam POV. Keep up the great work Stephen!
We too are happy to see you safely out alone in your small boat!
I love your energy and spirit. Thanks again for a great video.
Awesome!!!! you couldn't ask for a prettier day.. the water is awesome!! you make it look so easy to cut up!!
I had to watch this one again, soooo fun!!! Your sound effects are greaaat!!!
I love that you specify what each fish type is! I assume you guide? so informative! such a great video man! loved every second of it! most of the time I fast forward videos lol. subbed!
Try this easy seafood sauce. 1 1/2 cup mayonnaise, 1/2 cup Orange Preserve. Optional for pork: substitute apple jelly for orange. Great for gator tail too!
I love watching your videos, reminds me of when I lived in Pensacola from 2006-2008 and used to go fishing at Perdido Key for pompano and drum, or head down your way and fish the jeti for sheeps. Never got a chance to run offshore for mahi, but did get to hit the bottom once or twice and bring back some snapper and almaco.
You're the reason I'm into slow pitch jigging! I actually just got a bunch of spro bucktail jigs!
I appreciate how you appreciate the fish and keeping it simple, that fish taco looked delicious 👍🏻
Fine eating!! We have had this a bunch of times too. One thing we started doing is making flour tortillas at home. They are easy to make and heads above packaged ones in the store. Often we put scrambled eggs, cheese and bacon on a tortilla for breakfast!! An outstanding meal!!
Awesome catch one of my favorite salt water fish. Thanks for sharing.
I absolutely love the solo offshore videos
Love your shows and cooks; but when it comes to corn tortillas and flour tortillas both deserve the respect and appeal of a comal that gives them both the flavor and appearance of authenticity. Continued success brother.
I go deep sea fishing once a year & i love it. Love the videos brother !!
man your passion is just so good, glad you got that mahi and managed to have some fun releasing the amberjacks. I wish conditions over here in aus allowed fishing out of a nice and stable bay boat but as always being out there fishing is worth it no matter where in the world cheers
Beautiful fishing and cooking show today. That Mahi is off the chain and the way you grilled it. Great video today stay safe.
NICE brother. Very nice catch!!!!
You should run a charter if you don’t already, I’ve been always wanting to fish with ya!
Great content, throughly enjoy your videos. Keep up the excellent work.
Love your videos man. Keep it up 👍
Hey from Va! Great video from start to finish. Looking forward to seeing more. 🐟 🐠 🎣 🐡

Excellent video, Steven. I just found your channel today and subbed. You explain things very well and your footage and editing are great. Grats on that Dorado. Thank you for sharing.

Your really good at what you're doing, it shows in your subscribers numbers. Onward and upward, God bless you
By the way I've been watching your videos vor a bit now you are the best fishing youtuber out there love the vids keep up the good work
That was a good one. You were really excited to unexpectedly pick up the fish on the grass line. Also it’s amazing how hard the fish hit the jig. They hammer it. Best of luck and be safe.

Love watching your videos Great tips and tricks.
Sight fishing Triple Tail is one of my favorite things Thanks again man!
Awesome video Stephen!
I sautéed my Mahi Mahi in Italian dressing for about half hour and double wrapped it in aluminum foil to keep it from Leaking. Medium heat on the charcoal grill for about five or six min. on each side. Also put several pats of butter, as I Remember on each side before I wrapped it. Super good!
Hey I just started seeing your post. Ihave fished four of the great lakes and all over Michigan, the California Delta and some beutiful lakes in Cali. Now i'm in Ga. Near Clarks Hill lake, and I know the weather can change in a blink, so be careful and safe out there all alone. God bless.
Great job on that Maui man! He had ya in the weeds for sure. Thank you buddy be safe!
Another great adventure!!!
Love fish tacos as well, but like each of us my own best memory is coming back to a house in the keys with some fresh dolphin and a fresh fried dolphin sandwich, oh baby!!
Wow! So-o nice. Not since 1978-79 in the US Navy at Corry Field in Pensacola have I enjoy the Gulf like this. Lived off the Santa Rosa Sound in Gulfbreeze. No homes were there on the sound then. We could just walk out into the water and hop onboard. Never got a mahi in the Gulf and I wonder, would a Gulf mahi dive if chased? I've seen them run on the surface in the Virgin Islands. Land-locked In Arizona now. Dry heat? Don't you believe it! You just boosted my dream of living on the Gulf again.
Love to see the growth in your channel I remember when you had 50k keep up the good work!
