Good fishing dude
I love how you not only show how to catch amazing fish, but you also show the biological side of the fish and what they have been eating. The educational aspect of your videos is truly what makes you amazing Stephen.

You make me want to go fishing SO bad! The length of the video isn't an issue for me when the content is so interesting and entertaining. It went by quickly. You hit it out of the park with this one. I'm sure it was a lot of work, but I think it was worth it. Thank you.

I love how Steven is always having a good time and enjoying gods creation
Great Video. Its been many years since I was stationed in Pearl Harbor in the early eighties. While assigned to the 5th Heavy Boat Company on Ford Island, I operated 130 foot army ships and our usual missions were delivering equipment and cargo to the Big Island 125 Nautical miles away to the east. During the three years there I logged over 700 days underway and invariably, I used 4 rigs at the same time. 2, 9 aughts and 1, 10 aught and 1, 14 aught. I normally used a cona head or weighted steel head with large plastic squids about 14 inches long. The colors varied. My favorite were purple and pink and several colors availble in tackle shops on Oahu. During that 3 year period I literally caught hundreds of pelagic fish. Most were Wahoo (yes your correct) or ONO. and Bullhead Dauphin or Mahi Mahi. It was the occassional Blackfin Tuna or Marlin that spiced up the adventures. Of the many wahoo I caught only a couple were as big as the one you caught on this video. Most were the 25 to 35 pound class. On one late evening, while heading west from Molokai to Oahu, I hooked a monster Wahoo. luckily I caught it on my 14 aught Penn. It weighed 73 pounds and I guess nearly 6 feet. It was enormous and the 14 man crew and I shared a long of delicious meat. It was comical seeing me leave my ship after a couple day trip to the big island and on the back of my moped I had a 4 foot fish strapped on the back. My wife and kids were always thrilled. Well, over 40 years later, retired from the military, I love to reminiss my fishing adventures in Hawaii. Your videos are a blessing. You are clearly a good fisherman. Very knowledgeable of all the ins and outs of catching Saltwater fish. Hope the pier gets fixed this upcoming winter so I can get back out there catching the kings and spanish and all the other great fish here on our Gulf Coast. Happy for you. Love the videos. Respectfully, Ole Sarge Frank
Went fishing with a local charter captain in your area this past week and he had nothing but good things to say about you. Good to hear you’re as good in person as you come across on your channel!
I prefer the longer videos. I'm up here in the Midwest and can only dream about catching a fish like that. The way you present the videos is very realistic and down to earth. Not glamorous. keep them coming.
Steven, if you keep trolling ballyhoo on that Southwest Edge/Nipple area, you will eventually find yourself fighting a white, or even a blue, marlin! Now THAT'S a video I'd like to see!!! Congrats on the big hoo. That is a trophy on any size boat, much less a 24' bay boat.
Not only are you a consummate fisherman, you’re a connoisseur of epicurean delight. Thanks so much for sharing your blessed talents.
Can we just appreciate how humble Steven is and how giving and caring he is by sharing some of this delicious fish even though it’s rare and expensive. Thanks for sharing awesome catch 🫡

Big thumbs up. The fuel alone to get out there, fish around, and back had to be around 40-50 gallons of fuel. Recreational fuel is around $5.50 per gallon. Over $200 just in fuel. Guy is really awesome.

I love how you show from the sea to the table.
It is said that our saviour was able to feed 5,000 people with two fishes, and five loaves. He'd stand a great chance with two of those Wahoo! Congrats on the first time catch! Again, I wish I had "smellovison"! Great stuff again Steven, God bless. 👍

I love these catch & Cook videos. You do a great job Stephen!
I've run a flounder boat my whole adult life. The shallow flats are full of ballyhoo in the summer months, and you can get all the fresh ones you want. This may be hard to believe, but we catch a LOT of large speckled trout on ballyhoo the size of the one you were using, or even larger. If you know anyone with a flounder boat, they can use a long-handled landing net to take them under their flounder lights. You have to net them from the front - you'll never catch one from the tail end. Fresh ones are much more effective than older frozen ones. Pretty much everything offshore loves them. I usually just put a single hook up from the bottom, and through their bony head. But you do have to make sure the beak isn't so long that it touches the leader or the will definitely spin. (You're right - they have to pull straight.) The gamefish seem to know that they have to come at them from the front, so that singel hook is enough. If you ever come across a school of dorado, that single hook rig is effective and quick. It's not unusual to catch two or three on a single ballyhoo, because the bone in their head is so tough. Here in Texas, we have to go pretty far offshore to find 'hoo, so I have to admit that I'm more than a little jealous of that.
Thanks for sharing I born in the beach in Fajardo Puerto Rico but I live in Omaha Nebraska and I miss my hometown and your sharing to me is refreshing

Mornin ladies… hey bam 💥
Man that wahoo is a once in a lifetime catch, it's amazing that it was your first wahoo and was that size! I also totally respect all the ways you prepared it, wahoo is one of the finest eating fishes there is, barring absolutely none - it is literally that damn good ! Good on you for sharing some with other families as well, especially considering how truly good eating it is ,there just is no way it can be cooked that it is not good ! And on top of all that , the wahoo is one of the fightinest, runningest, pullingest fish out there always a battle to catch one!
A fish of dreams!!!! That looks amazing. Your a great guy sharing your catch with others.
Steven - I’ve been watching you for several years now. Love the catch and cooks. I get so hungry watching the finished meal. I love your attitude and appreciate your love of the outdoors. Keep it coming.
Mahalos for removing the plastic Steven! We are brothers!!!
Few things. Awesome Video. Awesome Catches. Awesome Knowledge. Personally I would never do 50 miles out solo and definitely would wear a life jacket but to each his own. Reminded me of the fun times I used to have going out with my buddies. Thanks for the content!
Awesome video man!! You never disappoint that's for sure! I find it funny the charter guys there kinda dislike what you do. But you're the reason I used their business, so they owe you some gratitude because I never would have came to Gulf Shores had I not found your channel in 2020.

Fantastic video. And you did it all by yourself as far as catching that epic fish. Much respect. You did a fabulous job dressing it and cooking too. Very impressed.
WOW! Its amazing how you gaff and haul it in by yourself! Kudos to you, Allen
Thank you for your knowledge! Great video!
Man, i was cheering when you landed the wahoo by yourself. Great job. Were you a deckhand in your younger days? Because the info you gave and showed how to rig baits, and use that inline planer, i haven't seen many hands on videos on youtube. Or few willing to teach and explain how to things about fishing like you do.
Really enjoy your offshore trips. So much fun watching. You are a pro!
Awesome job dude. Thanks for your time and knowledge
Bravo! What a Banger video! Thank you so much! 😎👍
Awesome I’m so pumped for you man!!! My biggest and only wahoo was 64” and 52 lbs caught it out of Oregon inlet NC. Best eating fish I have ever caught!
C&C - caught and cook! “Fishing time does not count towards life” like we say in Russia. It was cool dude! Best regards 🤘
That was a awesome trip and a long ways for a solo trip on the bay boat but you know what you’re doing and caught some really awesome fish. Wahoo is my the #1 bucket list fish to catch and that grilled Wahoo looked so delicious I would have loved to have had some of it. Great video!!!
Great video Steve-o! Love the reactions to you eating your catch, always makes me jealous...and hungry!

Nice. We caught a wahoo about 10 years ago on a deep sea charter. Cooked it that night, blackened and seared. The BEST fish I've ever eaten by a mile.
Love the video! Can you do more catch clean cooks? That steak looked SOOO good!
That is sick!!! I feel you on that Wahoo!! I caught my first one ever on July 4th and it was 66lbs. Those things are so much fun to fight and soooooo good to eat!!! Congrats on the amazing catch!!
Bro. You spoke that one into existence. “How cool would it be if that’s a big wahoo” BOOM GIANT WAHOO.

I grew up on the MS coast. I knew many avid fishermen, who would fish anytime they could find the water. Now I know why Jerry used to carry on the way he did about Wahoo. Dolphin has always been about the best I can remember having. Back in 1977 I was working offshore, between Chandeleur Island and the main pass. I was a new roustabout, when at the end of the first day, a regular hand asked if I wanted to fish. I didn't know what to do. He gave me a rod and reel, and said that if I didn't want the fish, that he would take it to old folks homes in NOLA. He said he averaged over 200 lbs of filet every week. When I first saw the Wahoo in the water I thought, that's the largest King Mackerel I have ever seen. I am very impressed with your skills as a fisherman and a cook. I have never seen anyone examine the contents of the stomach before. That would only occur to a true fisherman. I was relocated to Montana following Hurricane Katrina, by my employer. This video made me little homesick. I miss the food. My brothers in-laws own seafood restaurants on the MS Coast. I loved getting free meals at White Cap. I am now subscribed.
Great video man as always always enjoy them
My guess on your wahoo was about 60 inches. I love how you give most of it away -- it's like a good meal for the entire neighborhood.
Glad I found your videos, headed that way last week of this month.
That Wahoo surprised the heck out of me! I knew it would be something cool, but had no idea it would be that big!
