    Regarding what you said about the other Incarnations of King Kong. None of them were really evil. He’s just a wild destructive animal. The humans were usually portrayed as more evil as they captured Kong and brought him back to the city for their own amusement which is what led to his rampage and his death

    Yeah, King Kong's not evil at all. Humans are.

  • @wickamo
    @wickamo3 жыл бұрын

    First of all, Kong has never been evil in any of his movies. Even in the original story line which has basically been the same story in every movie except this one, although the natives would make sacrifices to him as their god, he was basically just an animal trying to survive. In every story they drugged and kidnapped him from the island and took him back to New York to make him into a money making spectacle. And then when he escaped and climbed the Empire State building fighter planes killed him. He's always just been the misunderstood beast. He was always given human like emotions since he would always develop a fondness for the leading lady. Whereas Godzilla has always just been a force of nature that wasn't necessarily good or bad, but just was better than the other worse baddie in each movie. In this movie they fire bombed his home so he attacked, so once again, not the bad guy.

    Well I'm 26 so obviously wasn't around when the Vietnam War was going on but as someone who is enthusiastic when it comes to history I got the themes, I actually sympathized with Packard's character to a degree, obviously he went insane with his desire for revenge at the end, his feeling of loss and questioning "What was all this for?" in regards to Vietnam however, is something I can only imagine too many Vietnam vets felt after the war was over. It actually hits home with me a little bit considering my adoptive grandfather fought in Vietnam and came home to so many people looking down on him and someone actually spat on him, and someone like me who in truth barely knew him but was still raised to respect our soldiers and have family still enlisted, that hits me in the gut so much.

    As a friendly reminder, I will let you know that the movie takes place in 1973 and Kong is between his juvenile and adolescent stages. He's said to be an adolescent in the movie though. So he's still growing in the movie but he's almost fully-grown adult in Godzilla vs. Kong so yeah, he's a big boi now.

    I like how this movie has commentary on war and whether one is really the enemy. Like take Kong for example. He must seem like a monster to the humans when he attacks the helicopters. But he was just protecting his home after the humans dropped the bombs and woke up the skull-crawlers. Otherwise he ignores the and loves his own life. Another example is the friendship that developed between the 1940s US pilot and the Japanese pilot. They were trying to kill each other in the beginning but after spending time together they become best friends. Love that.

He got so addicted to the fighting that when it was over, he didn't know what to do. That's why he was relieved to get the orders to go to skull island. Not sure why, people refer to Kong as being smaller in this movie, as he’s actually bigger in this movie than any other. Also, no one can justify the humans immediately coming to the island and attacking Kong, he had every right to kill all the soldiers. It says a lot about how man, chooses violence over civility every chance we get.

    He's referred to as "smaller" because in the movie, they say that "Kong is still growing, in his adolescent stage". Basically, he's really young. Then Godzilla vs. Kong takes place almost 50 years later (1973 when Skull Island takes place vs 2021 when Godzilla vs. Kong takes place), and he's basically adult then, and MUCH, much bigger

It might because he’s a primate and we humans are primates so that care to a fellow species is there, but also he’s be the easier of the large monsters to live with compared to the others. I also get more defensive for him because so many call him a monkey and he isn’t. He’s a gorilla, he may have a tail bone but he has no tail so not a monkey, ape-great ape like us humans.
