Black Swan is not voiced by AmaLee, she is voiced by Arryn Zech.

Some random info to help you out: -If you remember the Myriad Celestia trailer with Duke Inferno and his children, they are the Annihilation gang that Black Swan was talking about. Acheron killed Duke Inferno and forgot about it, hence her "Oh, those guys." -Acheron (pronouced Ack-er-on) was the character in the Kyoden Myriad Celestia trailer, and along with her being named after the river of misery in Greek Mythology, you can tell she had a very happy backstory :) -The whole horror bit during the tango was due to Black Swan simply peering into Acheron memories and being traumatized, all of which happened in an instant. Acheron didn't even notice or actually do anything to cause that. -The Stellaron Hunters in the second trailer were illusions created by Sparkle. Considering she was basically controlling 3 people at the same time, she fought surprisingly well. -People have spent hours sifting through lore and theorizing, however they still cannot find a heterosexual explanation for that dance.

The explanation is very simple: main audience is male, main spenders are male. Majority of the main audience doesn’t want to pull for a male Acheron or Black Swan. Hot women sell better for target audience with money - males. Thus, the developers have no problem making them both dance, since there is no other alternative for the script. And besides, NOTHING here even implies homosexuality, and considering Genshin’s and Starrail’s queer, loud minority, I am forced to believe that this is just wishful thinking and projection. There, solved this mystery for you.

@@Owlmare according to one commenter from another reaction video, the dance itself is considered tame for a tango. tango is very sensual in nature so it can be assume that there are almost no emotion in this dance itself. But for normal people it will still look kinda sexual in a sense.

MASSIVE props to Allegra Clark, Acheron's voice actor. She absolutely *crushes* it.

Black Swan is a Memokeeper who lives of other's Memories which manifests as her body. In that moment when she asked "What have you done beautiful Ranger?" she basically went into Acheron's Head to look for this answer but then found Memories so bad and devastating it nearly pulled her apart.

I dont think its exactly that the memories themselves are pulling her appart. more like, the thing Acheron suffers from being an Emanator is passively destroying Acherons memories, and if you are inside her memories when that happens... that would logically lead to that effect having an effect on a memokeeper, who is a "mnemonic entity". Also, i think that the memories that are there are really traumatizing. but i dont think that in itself would have such a viceral effect on Black Swan.

Technically since memokeepers have no body they only exist in other people's memory. That's why only the people she choses can see her. She was already in Acheron's mind, she just went deeper into her memory or subconscience.

Since you’ve seen this animated short, you should also check out “A Flash.” It’s a short in this style about another character named Jing Yuan and his master Jingliu. (Character Amalee voices)

AmaLee was Jingliu (not in these trailers) Black Swan was voiced by Arryn Zech (most noted vor voicing Blake in RWBY) and Acheron was voiced by Allegra Clark.

Yeah, what you saw was sparkle's mask. She was creating illusions of Blade, Kafka and Silver Wolf to attack Acheron. One video I would recommend for you next week is Acheron's Myriad Celestia trailer which gives backstory on her and her power, and also hints on connections to the Honkai Impact 3rd Herrschers. That video is called Kyoden: A Cleave Across the Transient World.

Acheron is a version of Raiden Mei from Honkai Impact 3rd who lost everyone and everything She is one of the most powerfull characters in every universe she's in and also a favorite of the actual writter of the story in Honkai Star Rail (for the Penacony Arc) and former writter of the awesome and heartwarming story of Honkai Impact 3rd XD

Well it took anyone by surprise this animated short. They went really hard with this one. Also Acheron is Raiden Shogun (genshin) and Raiden Mei mostly (Honkai impact 3rd) counterpart in HSR in case you did not realise. Finaly Amalee is Jingliu non Black Swan

Amalee plays Jingliu. You should see her animated shorts. HSR animated short: A Flash & Myriad Celestial Trailer - Cloud Knights Martial Doctrine. Also Dan Hung's short Ichor of Two Dragons is very good.

The story in 2.0 is top tier

To clarify what's going on in Rondo: - Black Swan is a Memokeeper of the Garden of Recollection, and therefore has the ability to look at anyone's past memories, generally, and is also made up of memories. - Before this party scene, Acheron killed the Annihilation Gang, and took Duke Inferno's invite to Penacony. - Black Swan finds about Duke Inferno's disappearance, so she's trying to look into Acheron's past to find out what exactly happened. - However, Acheron is a self-annihilator, which describes anyone who follows the path of Nihility and chooses to "annihilate" a part of themselves, such as sight or emotions. In Acheron's case, she has annihilated her past so to speak. She tends to record how events and people make her feel, rather than memory like the rest of us. - Given Acheron "has no past", she is the perfect counter to Black Swan. When Black Swan looks into her "past", or rather lack thereof, she gets swallowed by the metaphorical abyss within Acheron (which is actually a part of XI, the Aeon of Nihility, a black hole who is said to cause the average person to lose themselves if they gaze upon it). This is why there is all that imagery of Black Swan getting ripped apart / swallowed up; she is getting ripped apart for looking into XI. - However, for Acheron, since Black Swan is intefering with something she doesn't have, she doesn't actually experience anything that Black Swan did. That's why she so nonchalantly if Black Swan is okay; she genuinely had no clue anything happened at all. - Given that her memory is a bit of blank slate, she also didn't recall who the Annihilation Gang was right away, which is why in the last scene she was repeating the name under her breath until "Ah. Those guys." To clarify Acheron's trailer: - All three people attacking her are from the Stellaron Hunters, Blade, Silver Wolf, and Kafka. - They are actually all illusions, hence the magenta wispy edge to all of them. - The girl in the lip tint advert is actually Robin, the light blue hair girl with head wings that you've seen in other Penacony videos such as the White Night MV. She just has her hair dyed and styled. - As explained earlier, Acheron has a very weak grasp on her part. However, when she unsheathes her sword, she temporarily gains access to them again, as well as her hair (and every other part of her) turn white (and black) with red accents, such as the blood tears running down her face.

Acheron is definitely one of my favorite characters and glad to have got her. She's such a fun character to play. As someone who took private ballroom dancing I very much respect the dance scene for the animated short for this! I look forward to you trying the game out some day! Enjoyed your reactions as always. As for the VA a few have already corrected you who voices Black Swan, so I won't say about her. But I love Acheron's English VA as a huge fan of Allegra Clark who has voiced in many big games before.

I think this reaction is the reaction of all community :3 Hope other guys (Who knows much more lore and have the ability to describe it) will explain what happened in animated short, because with lore this dance just hit next level

I love the rarely seen trope of like, "You touched the devil's mind and he won't let you leave..." More stories should dive into what happens when a mind reader encounters an _Eldritch_ being who looks like a normal person, it's always such a ride. Big vibes of JJK, with that one guy who accidentally touched Sukuna's soul and found out he was much lower on the food chain than he previously thought.

The other two animated shorts are really good as well

Star Rail is in its new major patch (2.0 released under two months ago), and that means a LOT of front-loaded content. Genshin will be facing the same situation around August. Also, Acheron is Star Rail's version of Raiden Mei (HI3)/Raiden Shogun (Genshin); in the "HoYoverse," there are a theoretical multitude of parallel worlds with parallel versions of characters.

Sparkle has the ability to manipulate other people’s minds. She can create illusions and shapeshifts into different people’s appearances. That’s why when Acheron break down the illusion, Sparkle’s mask is broken too.

This really does really highlight how sensual a dance the Salsa/tango can really be. When we are so often bombarded by overt sexual imagery, it's kinda refreshing to get something just as appealing but not as in your face. As hilarious as that sounds being that it's a pretty sensual dance.

Acheron is [ack-uh-ron] - it's from the name of one of the 5 rivers in Homeric/Greek mythos underworld. Acheron, the river, is also known as the "river of woe", the "river of pain", or the "river of lost souls"; all things that describes Acheron, the character :) In the second video, sparkle can pretend to be other people, which is why Kafka and them were there, and why the mask faded at the end - she defeated them.

Just to clarify, the other character's name is pronounced with a hard c sound but it is more like A-ker-on and not A-kre-on. Her name is actually taken from a river in Greece which was the entrance to the Greek underworld which Charon would ferry souls across in Greek Mythology though later works attribute that to the River Styx.

yeah black swan isn't amalee, amalee does jingliu, who's an ice character with white hair and blue dress! she hits like a truck even though mine is like. very shoddily built. there's another short where she's in, the one that features jing yuan from way back when. but yes amalee goes hard on that role. honestly, every VA in this game just really do super well in everything. the minute details in their performance is something else.

Wait till you do the penacony storyline where all these characters cone together

here's my recommendation: specially since you already have some reaction to Honkai IMPACT; unless ya have a negative disposition to reading (some are, its totally ok), read the description 1st of the "Rondo across countless kalpas", then react next to the Acheron Myriad Celestia. i know you haven't immersed yourself that deeply into Honkai Impact 3rd lore yet, but Acheron is one of the most solid connections in a while to both Star Rail and Hi3rd. ...sadly, it runs too deep to explain in simple terms, but is "that" big of a deal, and the character being heavily busted in the game reflects it so much so.
