" The song is extremely complex and involves theories by Carl Jung and Freud. It's essentially about transcendence and the psychological changes that accompany the genetic mutations that lead to the increase in the number of chromosomes humans have (currently 44+2=46 and ultimately to 46+2). This is waaay oversimplified. Google! Either way, Tool is the sh*t! Danny is beyond phenomenal!

One Tool song that the lyrics are self evident, especially with this lyrics vid explaining Jung's psychoanalysis. Defeat your ego. Destroy your shadow; the one dragging you down with worldly concerns. Embrace free will, but do good with it. The worst Lyric video ever! You practically miss the entire song trying to read all the extra word content. Don't get me wrong, it's good info, but it distracts you from the listening of the song.

Whoever made that lyric video is just trying to flex - way too much context to read and distract from the song for a first listen. Just read the lyrics along with the songs, and look things up after if you want more context.
