My dad loved this band, this song was played very often, as the other big hit "Dance" When Jean-Jacques Goldman started his solo carreer he wanted to know what will the "singer from from Taï Phong" will do. I remember the first time we heard him on a tv show (they had a live incident the music couldn't start or something like that, it was funny), the song was "Il suffira d'un signe" we immediatly thought: Wow!!!

Thaï Phong is a prog rock band. Very demanding, technical. Goldman is the singer but it's not his song, it really is a work of the vietnamese brothers. I love this song. There were lot of slow music at this time.

I was born in 1974, so I was way too young when the song was released to remember it. When I was 8 years old, I fell in love with Jean-Jacques Goldman, when I saw him on TV, singing "Comme Toi". A few years later, when I was about 16, I knew he had been in a band, so I found a K7 of "Taï Phong" and when I listened to it, I was thrilled, cause I recognized this song. I don't know how I could remember it, but I can say that I've been a fan of Jean-Jacques Goldman since I was just 1 year old.

Hi Dereck! You weren't expecting that!😉😁 Our JJG who was part of a group when he started his career before he went solo! Sister Jane is a song released during the year 1975 and taken from their first album Thaï Phong and which was a success the same summer sold more than 200,000 copies, ranking in the twentieth place of the hit parade of the era. The album will sell 50,000 copies. He joined the Taï Phong group in 1974 (Big Wind in Vietnamese, created in 1972 by the Ho Tang brothers) in 1974 and played guitar and violin there. But it's his high-pitched voice that will make him the interpreter of this song. The song refers to an American science fiction author, Philip K. Dick who lost his twin sister some time after her birth, a death from which he will never recover! Do you know that after the departure of Jean-Jacques Goldman ((lack of promotion and refusal of JJG to tour), the members of the group recruited a certain Michael Jones who too will follow the path of JJG. Thanks for your great work our Frenchie American pal.👍🇫🇷

Hi Dereck! Like many, I discovered your channel a little by chance. A very interesting experience, sometimes funny, moving (or both) to see the reactions of a young American discovering French songs. There is an artist (who died 6 years ago) from the 70's that you could listen to : Michel Delpech . Many of his songs are very famous in France, like "Le Chasseur", "Pour un flirt avec toi", "Quand j'étais chanteur" ..... I don't know if anyone has ever recommended him to you. It would be surprising. Still in the 70's, as I understood that you like synthetics, you should try the song "Onyx" of Space Art. I think you should like it :) I'll come back to you with other tracks from bands or artists who are not always very well known and for some, more recent and still alive. Don't change anything, stay as you are ! With a bit of luck, you will end up decorated with the Legion of Honor by our future president ! :)

It's been a very long time since I've heard this song that I heard from time to time on the radio when I was still a small child. Know that Michael Jones will join this group in 1978 and then Goldman will no longer want to participate in the tour because he will be tired of singing in English (preferring French). The Tai Phong group was created in 1972 and will be dissolved in 1979. What is very surprising is that many fans of J.J Goldman do not know this little gem from 1975... A little history: the two original founders of Tai Phong are two brothers born in Vietnam who grew up in England.......in 2001, J.J Goldman will marry a woman of Franco-Vietnamese origin...
