Yellow Brick Road (in my opinion) was her acknowledgement that she wasn't going to win because of this, a farewell to the dream - the line "I'm not a present for you friends to open" is quite telling

Just my opinion. I think Simon created The Champions edition of AGT mostly to have Angelina sing on his stage there. They couldn't agree on the terms for Season One and Angelina's family remained firm that they wouldn't sign any agreement which gave Simon any control over her career. Simon backed down and allowed Angelina to sing on Season Two. Just my opinion and have NO facts to back it up. No doubt though, that all 4 judges on AGT The Champions, were already huge Angelina angels. Simon is involved in every Got Talent show around the globe, so he has known Angelina since she was on Norway's Got Talent.

I beleive the winners didn't sign a contract either. It was an Indian artist group of about 30-40 people. As far as I know there were no singers in the top 3. Angelina lost to Marcelito. But it was decided by the 50 super fans in the USA.

This is a nice compilation of Angelina's accomplishments. No one really knows why she did not win AGT. All guesses. It is true her family said she would not sign with Simon. Great choice, as she signed with Republic and I believe it is a perfect fit..

Her singing is not the only thing about her that draws tears from her fans. Her history here has too. Such an impressive and inspirational life before she's even an adult. The world owes her parents mountains of appreciation for blessing her with so much love, generosity, grace, humility, and dedication to her dreams.

Why doesn't the single greatest singer on earth win a talent show? AGT is a reality show that has rules you have to sign up for. AJ and her people are FAR too smart to get locked into any silly contracts. She got EXACTLY what they wanted from that show,.... exposure on an international scale. Her team got everything, AGT got some great performances from a legend.

It's a odd one you go on the show for exposure but receiving a golden buzzer gives you less exposure .

Let me add several things which miss in this resume Her maternal grandmother (Mary) is Iranian (Angelina speaks Farsi). Her maternal grandfather is Japanese. As I understand Angelina's mother and uncle grew up in Japan. (people claim that Angelina speaks a little Japanese). There is a video of her singing a song in Japanese (kzread.info/dash/bejne/lohkrpqCg8qraLQ.html) at a concert in Japan. The Wild Music channel reacting to her Japanese song praised her pronunciation kzread.info/dash/bejne/dmud2axxlcW2etI.html . So, by now she is fluent in at least 3 languages (Norwegian, English, and Farsi) She had countless concerts in Norway, Sweden, Germany, England, Russia, Qatar, Japan, South Korea, Singapore, Brazil, and the North Pole.(all this before AGT before lockdown) (So much I found out - probably there are more) In Seoul she opened the concert for Norah Jones, she performed for Norway Prime Minister royalties, President of US, on Quincy Jones's birthday concert, and appeared in many TV shows. Despite all this, she still behaves like a simple girl rather than a star.

Britt, I personally believe that not making the top 5 was for the best. She received great visibility with none of the AGT contract issues. ❤ Her popularity was growing quite well but was wrapped up in the cocoon of COVID for over two years. Luckily for us and her she became a bright spot in social media for her fans, like me to stay connected to with her. As for Little Big Shots. It is a talent show for kids but it is not a competition. Her first 17 years have been amazing, just think what she will do over the next 17, let alone her life time ❤❤❤❤

Based on what I am reading in the comments it is a very good thing she did not sign any contracts with Simon or AGT. Everyone in her circle knows that she is a special talent. She needs to remain free to do whatever she desires to do with her singing talents. She clearly knows what she is doing! We are all the beneficiaries of having her design and create music as she pleases.

ANGELINA was approached by AGT before this season show but the contract offer was declined it was too controlling , they eventually approached her again and a contract offer was accepted but on ANGELINAS own terms so she was in charge of her own destiny not controlled by AGT unlike the other artists.

Make no mistake, if you sign that AGT contract you're on the hook. No matter which place you make. They can invoke a label contract, take over you mangement and literally control you 360 degrees. Thats why is such a great feat, her manager manged to talk them into a special deal that waived all those clauses. Agt champions/all stars always was and is dominated by dance acts. Either its the effect of the long day where you have to compete with your short timeslot vs the much longer ones they give to dance acts and/or the selection of the jury. That show is pre-recorded off-saison and has no public live vote.

Thanks for sharing your reaction to "The Story Of Angelina". My understanding about Angelina performing on AGT is that AGT was trying to get Angelina on their show, but the only way her family would allow Angelina to participate was only they did NOT have to sign the standard AGT contract. IMHO it was prearranged that Angelina would not be able to win. (Interesting that if you listen to the lyrics of her performance of Yellow Brick Road, you will hear her foretelling of the outcome of the "competition".) Anyway - Angelina did actually win in the sense that her AGT appearances gave her an incredible US & worldwide stage to showcase her incredible talent. And - shortly after AGT, at age 14 Angelina signed a contract with Republic Records. So - Angelina's "fairy tale story" does have a happy ending! :)

The big “hiccup” in her journey was the pandemic. It occurred right after she appeared on AGT. I think some people perceive that her losing on AGT was why her rise to international fame (and the US awareness of her) slowed down. It was more likely the pandemic. I assume (and this is only my opinion) that more exposure in the US was anticipated, maybe a couple of US concert dates in the summer of 2020.

@@peterhormell1511 There is no question that the pandemic prevented her being able to perform at public forums. In addition it was hard on her because that is her passion. It was clear at her concerts in July 2022 how much performing means to her. On the other hand it did give her a lot of time to work on her album. The over two year delay slowed down her visibility but this year the world is going to learn what we already know. She is a very special artist. Here’s to a most wonderful year for Angelina. ❤

The common train of thought is, losing AGT was a blessing in disguise for Angelina.

Angelinas biography is amazing, but it gives so much more about what she have done in this 17 years, its unbelievebel. Nobody is like angelina and her beautiful family , thats such a big gift for the world 👑♥️🌹💫 thanks britt for reacting to that video 😊

Hi Britt 👋. Great reaction. This is an ok fan made video. Most the info comes from Wikipedia, so you'll know that some things are wrong. If you really want some accurate info. React to "Angelina Jordan Born To Sing " documentary. This is from (Wrapped in a warm blanket), Alan and group did an amazing job on it. (PS, Those Little Big Shots shows Angelina was a guest on them not a competitor. Angie only competed 2 times, once on NGT the other was AGT-C. Angelina didn't win for they were looking for a Las Vegas act and Angelina is not that. But the winners were, they were a tumbling/acrobat group, plus this was all prerecorded in 4th quarter of 2019. Her 2nd grandpa died during the competition (there really wasn't any superfans). That's who the song "Million Miles" is for. Plus the top 5 sign before the finals. As much as she wanted to win, it wasn't going to happen. She did get the American exposure she needed and AGT got their viewers numbers up.)🙂👍❤🙏

The great information posted by fans is not for Britt and reactors like her. She only has enough time to create a dozen videos per day and has no time to read comments. She should have known every detail why Angelina is barefoot for every performance yet today she showed she was still learning.

This song is rarely reviewed compared to most of her others for some reason even though I think it is one of her most impressive covers at the old age of 11. britt angelina wasn't going to perform at AGT unless they released her from all contracts which they did.... that's why she didn't win because they control the winners with ridiculous contracts. alesha dixon said angelina should win...her audition had 10 million hits so quick that it was pulled...they were afraid of backlash because they knew she wasn't going to win. Queen liked it so much they gave her copyright she re-recorded next day and put on her channel...

I recall after a week or so her BoRhap rendition had 30 million views by the moment official AGT YT channel took it down for 'mysterious reasons'... Nevertheless, Angelina won an unprecedent exposure to american (and worldwide) audience. It was an intelligent and great move for her career!

Angelina Jordan's family is her shield! They already know about winning a AGT contest and I'm sure they wouldn't gave up control to Simon! So an early exit would make sense. They get the talent they need for ratings and she get's exposure without commitments. Opinion, as in mine. I say this because she's about to step up and everyone in the industry knows it!

Just the story of Angelina Jordan brings tears to my eyes.

For her last performance on AGT, she chose to help two other contestants who had already been eliminated. One was a lady who did fast change sand drawings and the other was a young trumpeter. It was a fascinating great performance by the trio but the voters evidently didn't like the idea, as they preferred Angelina performing solo. Typical of Angelina, she was just trying to help others with their careers.

Simon would have lost a lot of money if she had won AGT Champions since she would not have gone under contract to AGT. Would have been a bad business decision for them to make her a winner but her exposure introduced her to many people who would otherwise never have known her so it was a win-win for all.

The understanding was that she was not going to sign with AGTs traveling tour or Simon's record company. There was no way they were allowing her to win.

She was only 6 when she gave her shoes to that other little girl, that is even more mind blowing, a 6 y.o. girl thinking in that level, there are adults who wouldn’t give a second thought to that other little girl, but Angelina not only befriended that girl, they talked of their hopes and dreams, the little girl to become a doctor and Angelina to become a superstar, 6 years old, that even now that I know the story still sounds unbelievable. You hit the nail on the head, she was not going to sign any contracts or sign with SYCO, Simon Cowell’s label, and that’s why they couldn’t let her win, they don’t even have the rights to put her performances on their KZread Channel, Angelina has the rights. There were some serious negotiations before she agreed to be on the show, they originally wanted her on AGT Champions first season, but the answer was NO, but after her move to California, I think it was in her best interest to get US exposure, so she agreed to do the Show, but as you can see, with a lot of conditions, especially that she would not sign with any label at that time, she did sign with Republic Records the next year, disregarding offers from all the major labels and Disney, who I’m sure were drooling to get their hands on her, because she is exactly the type of total performance package that they like to develop. I think Angelina made the right choice. When I say Angelina it includes her mother and extended family who protected Angelina and allowed her to have a normal childhood, well as normal as a future superstar could possibly have.

Britt, I am glad you had the opportunity to watch this video. There is another more inclusive documentary of about 20 minutes called Born to Sing which I think is superior. I am happy to see you growing your channel so fast. Congratulations. However, I'm disappointed that it has been at the expense somewhat of the artists and a percentage of potential fans. There are a number of things in this video that you were not aware of that frankly you should have been. In all of the reactions you have done to Angelina, there have been countless references in biographies on everything you saw here. You really should have known all these things long ago if you are reacting to an artist this frequently. Having a sincere and genuine channel involves not just a good reaction, but immersing yourself in the artist history and the fans desires. Supporting and promoting your artists should be part of that. It should be all about them! You have been growing for a quickly and can grow even faster by shifting your focus a little bit. Peace and love him.

Not this show, but a good many offers to sign a record deal. As you know, she did and her already impressive fan base has grown exponentially... She's stepped from a relatively good place to the one where her dream comes true... "to sing for the world"... And this time it'll be one SEISMIC event like the BEATLES did when they made it big... But her's will most likely be even BIGGER!!!! I'm believe Angelina "should" have won the AGT: Champions, but at the same time, I'm glad she didn't win it. It was, indeed, a blessing in disguise, as you said! With Republic giving her a wide, generous berth for her music style, song selections, timing of her album, etc., she and her family have much more freedom to make wise decisions than the one's signed to Simon Cowell's (and others) stifling contracts!

Some circus acts won the Got Talent that year... But as her uncle/manager stated Angelina's contract for joining the AGT Champions is not the typical contract the others signed. AGT wanted Angelina so badly on their show as the matter of fact it was their 2nd attempt to get Angelina to the show after failing to get her on their first try. So they negotiated her contract and came up with a win-win deal for the show and Angelina. Now whether part of that deal is Angelina cannot win the show is something we will never know.😉 And for me as we see where she is now.. They made the right decision.

From what I understand Angelina refused the dotted line at AGT but people at the show wanted to promote her because seriously how could they not!?

There are versions that the votes gave her as the winner but she did not want to sign a contract with Simon, Angelina's priority was to finish her studies and that is why they sent her between 6th and 10th place, both Britt from Argentina.

Angelina didn't win AGT because she didn't want to sign with Simon's record company. She received all the exposure from "Bohemian Rhapsody" and later that year signed with Republic Records.

I think - if I remember correctly, her experience with the shoeless poor girl in the Middle East happened when she was 6yo. Her participation in NGT was the year after, but I think she decided sometime after that again to not wear shoes while performing.

Actually she was 7 when she won Norway's Got Talent and 13 when was on AGT.

Awesome reaction and just my opinion, I believe her Mom and Uncle had a lot to do with her getting immediately eliminated after her Performance of "Yellow Brick Road". I say this they wouldn't sign the normal contract, they had the leverage for AGY had been after her for several years. The other reason is after she did "Bohemian Rhapsody", in an interview Angelina's mom had said, "She got to fulfill her dream and impress Simon. Now it's time to go home finish school and have as much of a normal childhood as possible". Another thing AGT immediately pulled the videos off You Tube claiming Copy Right Issues. That has never been done before and Queen gave Angelina the Rights to her version, why has it not been placed back on You Tube. Angelina's mom has always said, Angelina won;t go mainstream until school is finished and finished with her childhood. This was way too soon and she would have shot to Super Stardom immediately. I Love them taking it slow and letting A.J., be herself. Like I said my opinion, but these are the facts, make your case, God Bless!

Another high point that this brief clip left out was that she opened at the O2 celebrations for Quincey Jones' 85th birthday, singing Fly Me to the Moon - at his specific request. The girl has serious credentials!

The event where she gave away her shoes took place when she was six... she didn't make the decision to perform barefoot immediately - there is a video of her at 7 (singing Hurt) wearing shoes.... some time after that and before the start of NGT she decided always to be barefoot when performing. Geoffrey North. I've seen that clip and have a question you might be able to answer...It looked to me as if the "venue" for the clip was at her school? Could there have been some Hard-and-fast rule about wearing shoes in school?

She would not sign a deal with AGT. And if you know anything about the lyrics to the song she sang in the final, Goodbye Yellow Brick Road, it makes a lot of sense

From what i read a dance group won the year she was on agt champions

that song wearing shoes was age 5 in Dec....turned 6 the next month....she met little girl with scale at age 6 THEN thats when the shoes came off.

The AGT Champions did not have the same voting system as AGT. AGT normally have the judge and general public voting. In the AGT Champions, there were only 50, so called "Superfans", one from each state, that decided the outcome of the entire show. Angelina's family had no intentions of signing any contracts with Simon. Thus.....

quite possible the reason she didn't win was her team would not sign a contract, best thing they did.

They all loved her on AGT but in order to win you have to sign a contract and her family refused. They did have her do a special performance though.

You are so right about the contractual obligations being a huge trap. A really good artist doesn’t want to win for that reason.

The shocking thing is this missed out her performances with Alan Walker, multiple others, Quincy Jones birthday concert. TV performances, her origional songs, also she was searching out jazz on the TB at 2.,at Alsang pa Grensen, Koeningsberg, Japan, and many many more. All in the school holidays.

As far as I know, Little Big Shots is a format showcasing talented kids. It is not a competition format.

AGT wanted Angelina to be on the show, and Angelina wanted to perform on it, but she (through her Uncle/manager) would not agree to sign a contract that would give Simon management rights over her career. They had already turned down $5 million from an American producer (probably David Foster) to sign an early contract offer. So, she knew going in that she wouldn't win (FYI; it was won by a dance troupe from India called "V.Unbeatable"). She (and her family) knew from early on that she would do her music her way and wouldn't get sucked into any sort of pathway that would take down a path she didn't have complete control over. I believe your wright if she would have won AGT certain people would have taken her and destroyed her and made her sing songs and style of music that is totally wrong for her . She needs to stay with jazz and some personal songs but nothing like today's music it's all technically made wrong and singer's voices gets Lost in the songs they sing. I believe today's youth will listen to anything and call it music but Angelina Jordan voice is real music. God bless

PLEASE READ THIS!!! Angelina and her family did not choose to sign the contract saying that if she won AGT she would have to sign with one of Simon's recording companies. THAT was the reason she didn't win America's Got Talent. Simon clearly didn't like this and you may know that many times when you see her Bohemian Rhapsody's audition, they cut off Heidi Clum's golden buzzer. Childlike stuff. I agree that it is actually a blessing, by the way.

There are a couple inaccuracies. For example, she was 7 when she auditioned for Norway's Got Talent. Also, her biggest influence is Billie Holiday, but that's not mentioned. I was also told by a fan who cited interviews wit her that Angelina never vowed to perform barefoot; she does it as a reminder of children who lack necessities. Her cover of Easy On Me had nothing to do with AGT. Even though it's not super-accurate, it's a reasonable overview of her career. I think you made a bit of an error, too: Angelina can't be more than 5 years younger than you are. :) Thanks for supporting our girl, Britt!

Yes for the most part the bio is accurate except for the mistakes you mentioned. The golden buzzer reference is heard twice. Once correctly for Bohemian Rhapsody and once incorrectly for Easy on Me. I wonder who puts together these types of biographies because they have some silly inaccuracies that could easily be checked and corrected. There is one about the Beatles that again for the most part is accurate but has silly mistakes ASICS as what songs are on which album. That is a very easy thing to verify and you wonder how that mistake is made.

I think that Yellow Brick Road may have been a very pointed choice, aimed at Simon and the whole AGT thing and its contracts...'the dogs of society', in exactly the same context as Bernie Taupin and Elton John had intended and aimed at the record industry in general

Angelina would appear but not sign to contract obligations beyond appearing on the AGT show

She met the girl in the middle East when 6 and auditioned for NGT at 7, wrote the book on the event when 9. Unfortunately, will likely always perform barefoot since she is committed to do that until all the world's children have shoes but perhaps she will succeed where so many before her have failed.

The book was published aged 9 but she had written in her diary shortly after her meeting the shoeless girl at aged 6 .ANGELINA performs barefoot as a reminder to " herself " of the less fortunate in other words the poor , no commitment to always perform barefoot until all children have shoes.

AGT requires that the contestant a contractual obligation for representation that her family refused to accept. Thank God. And it was that, and that alone, that prevented her from moving up to the top five. She knew this when she performed Yellow Brick Road. All the judges, including Simon, knew she was the best talent they has, but that's not how this show works. Regardless, she got amazing publicity from her three presentations. She was spectacular.

I really wish I would read what I've written before I post it, but that would be so un-me.

An acrobatic act won as I recall.

This little mini bio video on her life has a lot of information that's not quite accurate such as when she won Norway's Got Talent. As she says it she was seven when she won. And there were a few other things that weren't quite right. But of course it is very inspiring to hear about her many accomplishments. What I don't like is they did not mention that she's also the youngest published author in Norway as well at h8 because of her book.

Hi Britt. By now, you're probably aware, from the numerous enlightening comments by the numerous very knowledgeable Angels, why she didn't win at AGT. It had nothing to do with talent, as she clearly had more talent in her little toenail than all the other contestants combined. Worked out well for her though, because she still benefitted from tne publicity (check how many views that audition has got) and was subsequently able to sign with a recording company that gives her the freedom to fully express herself.

You should listen to her cover of "Suspicious Minds".

He never mentioned her album MAGIC she released when she was 12yrs old some things on hear not true

There's a lot more they left out of this documentary, but it's well done considering the length. It's much shorter than "born to sing". TBH, there's so much to mention that it's impossible to cover in a single document of any reasonable length - you can't do a full hour or more (but it would be necessary).

AGT wise she performed 3x. She did not win according to some because she did sign a contract with Simon in advance of appearing, these shows reserve the right to pick the winner over audience selections. Some debate this. None the less she got a lot of exposure and AGT got a lot of viewership. She ended up signing with republic around a year later.

The reason Angelina didn't go any further in the AGT completion rumor is she was not on their contract and would not go on contract as her manager Mikel did not want her to She signed with R&R records instead and In my opinion did much better.

AGT blew it. None of the contestants had the taken of Angelina. Yes she should gav won AGT. Hey, but she didn't need them then or now

Angelina came in 6th place and IMO because she refused to sign with Simon. AGT never had Angelina on their website nor any of her songs.

If you don't sign with Simon, you don't win...!! Thats the way it is folks..!!
