If we lived in a world where all children and teenagers were like Angelina -- not necessarily her talents, but I'm referring to her heart, her character, her values, her empathy for others -- can we even begin to imagine what the next generation or two on this planet would be like! Talk about a Utopia!

What's amazing is the fact that she has digested the singing of all the great A-List artists out there, and after all that, what does she say about her true musical mentor? She states in an interview with Nadia Neophytou that the only reason we are gifted with the Angelina Jordan singing as she does up and to the present is because of one person, and one person alone. That is Billie Holiday. How remarkable that an uneducated Black, self taught singer, who never had a mentor, improved 'Jazz' to a level that no other great singer ever matched. Billie had a hard life, being born to a 13 year old prostitute and having a father who was never around. She's singing in Harlem, wherever she is able to, and is found by a recording producer who immediately is able to tell that she sings in a way like no other 'jazz' singer he has ever experienced. Once he places her in the Jazz Clubs of Harlem, she quickly if deemed 'Queen Of Jazz'. People want to know how Angelina is able to sing in a way that makes the listener believe she lived through all the emotional strife that only an adult could be expected to do from events in their own lives? The answers can be found in the library of musicality belonging to Billie, who's improvisational, complex form of delivery is just breathtaking and which Angelina adopted. Nuance, phrasing, inflections, 'breathy', 'whisper-like' releases, and a host of other elements too long to note here became part of Angelina. It should be noted that she is fully aware, undoubtedly due to her doting grandmother, that Billie sang while knowing her father died when hospitals in the South refused to treat 'Blacks'. Then she comes across a poem called 'Strange Fruit', that describes how 'Blacks' were hung 'dead' from trees throughout the deep South. It moves her to put the poem to music and she records a song of the same name. Even though it was banned in the Southern States, the song went on to sell over a million copies. When Angie brings her emotion laden penetration to ballad, you realize she is channeling the heartbreak that her mentor lived and sang through.

The only thing bigger than Angelina's talent...is her heart and devotion to the less fortunate...she truly IS...and Angel, a gift from God to the world..to think that at 6yrs old, she demonstrated the level of caring she had; she showed the difference in character, seeing a child her age, she didn't stop at feeling sorry for her: SYMPATHY, she engaged the girl, spoke kindly with her, showed she cared and gave her the shoes off her feet: COMPASSION....a philanthropist @ 6-7 yrs old, and loyal to the promises she makes. To this day, she always steps out on the stage without shoes...there's a plethora of sweet, thoughtful and amazing things one can say about her...but only one word encompasses them all: Angelina.

Yes Angelina plays instrumentS- flute violin guitar piano. She also does all her own vocal arrangements. It's about the music for Angelina. She's not trying to impress you with her voice. She's sharing how she channels Elvis in this cover. It's all about the music and sharing how it makes her feel. A stunning artist. Never heard a song by her I didn't think was amazing, no matter what her age. You're seeing her here at age 16. She's the best there is bar none. Hope you enjoy more of her music. Cheers NP

Well done. On the story of her giving away her shoes to the little girl, in an interview she says "and they were my favourite sea-green ankle boots!". That is amazing! Most six year olds you would need to hold them down and fight to get those boots away from them! AJ just decided to give them away on her own, at 6!

Great respect for reacting to this documentary. Angelina is much more than an amazing musical artist and this reaction will help educate people. I truly believe Angelina was given the gift of song, to draw attention to her message of love and empathy. I will provide a summary of Angelina's book here but strongly encourage everyone to purchase the book. Grandma Mery's artwork is incredible and there is much more to the story than this summary. *Why Angelina always performs barefoot* At age 6, while traveling in the Middle East with her mother and grandmother, Angelina noticed a girl around her age standing on the side of the road, asking people to step on her bathroom scale to be weighed in hopes of getting some money. Angelina took off her shoes so as to not get the scale dirty and stepped on the scale many times to make the girl feel better. Angelina befriends the girl who was not wearing shoes and has scars on her feet, and learns she is an orphan. The orphan girl tells Angelina how beautiful she thinks her shoes are. Angelina says her shoes don’t fit her well and she wants to give her shoes to the orphan girl who thanks Angelina for giving her the shoes. Angelina asked the girl what she wanted to be when she grew up and the girl replied, “I want to become a doctor, but that will never happen since I have no parents and I have siblings so I have to do whatever is necessary for us to survive.” Angelina told the girl to never give up on her dreams. The orphan girl asked Angelina what she wanted to be when she grew up and Angelina replied that she wanted to sing for the whole world. The poor girl said she would pray every day so Angelina’s dream would come true. Angelina still says she thinks of that homeless girl every day and has always performed barefoot to remind her of all the children who are less fortunate. At age 9, she became the youngest published author in Norway’s history by writing a book about this encounter in the Middle East. PLEASE PURCHASE Angelina’s book from her merchandise store on her official website, angelinajordanofficial

A big thank you to KZreadrs Alan Papier and Pontus Osterlin who work together on the podcast Wrapped In A Warm Blanket which recently just finished its second season. Season 2 is all on KZread. Alan has his on KZread page with different topics that always include Angelina, while Pontus has his own page for reactions to Angelina songs. The podcast often involves inviting KZread reactors and asking them questions about Angelina and how she has affected them. Some episodes even delve in to deeper topics that takes their show to even higher level. There is a video showing David Foster talking to The Beach Boys about Angelina and he is heard saying, "She's nine years old and it's freaky....Like I've seen a lot of young singers, but she is frighteningly good." Then someone asks , "That girl from KZread?" Foster says yeah. "Angelina Jordan singing What A difference A Day Makes?" Then you hear a few people say she's got talent and Foster responds, " It's beyond!" In regards to her book, Between Two Hearts, some of the proceeds from the book go to a worthy cause:. When you purchase one, a part of the profit is donated to homeless children. So happy that you got to watch this, Alex! There's still little stories here and there that you will find and see that will keep filling in the puzzle that is Angelina. The more you find out about her, the more impressed you keep getting!

I knew you would enjoy this documentary. It provides a lot of good information about Angelina & her family in it. However, I think there are a few things that were left out that are important. I believe that information that I have learned from watching many videos with knowledgeable people concerning Angelina are accurate. As in the video, Angelina taught herself to sing by watching the best singers in over 7 decades with her internet research starting at 2-3 years old. Her family didn’t want to mess that up, so they decided not to have a singing coach try to “improve” her singing, but they did enroll her in music lessons. Not just music lessons to learn piano & guitar, but to study music theory and arranging starting at around 5-6 years old. That’s why we see her doing her own music arrangements on “I Put a Spell on You” at age 9 and even earlier on NGT. That’s amazing. Now you know something about her Grandma Mery Zamani and the video talks about her painting as a well know artist in Iran. She not only was a child prodigy with painting, but also writing poetry. I believe she was a published poet at a young age. As Angelina’s closest mentor & muse, it’s not surprising that Angelina was writing even at the age of 6 and with Mery’s illustrations had her book “Between Two Hearts” published as the youngest author in Norway at 9 years old. I think this poetic influence is very evident in all of Angelina’s own songs and especially on her new EP. Grandma Mery went to Japan to study art and met Angelina’s Japanese grandpa there. They lived there for a number of years and I believe that is where Angelina’s mom Sara & Uncle Mike lived for years too. Then they moved to Norway where Sara later met her Swedish husband and Angelina was born in Oslo, Norway. Most people in Norway speak English as well as Norwegian. So, Angelina grew up in a household where many languages were spoken - Norwegian, English, Farsi (from Iran), Japanese and Swedish. You also saw videos of her speaking & reading lyrics in English at 6 years old too. We have also seen Angelina sing in Japanese at one of her performances, but she could have learned the song phonetically. Despite her closeness with her grandpa, we don’t know that she really speaks Japanese, but I have heard that Sara & Uncle Mike speak Japanese. People are amazed that she was able to write a book about singing barefoot at 9 years old, but that writing came from her diary that she wrote at 6 years old, which is even more unbelievable. People know the story that Angie met this homeless girl on the streets in the Middle East, but most people don’t think about that little girl as being uneducated and probably only speaking Farsi (like Grandma Mery). The story goes that Angelina spoke to the girl for quite a while, while stepping on her weighing scale to help give her some money besides her shoes. But that means that Angie must have been speaking to her in Farsi to have that conversation. We have never heard Angie speak Farsi (so there is no proof), but with her closeness with Mery it is probably true that Angie learned to speak Farsi with her grandma. There are many amazing things about our Barefoot Princess. Her natural abilities, intelligence & hard work, as well as a remarkable family for support have molded Angie into one incredible human being, humanitarian, musician and singer/songwriter. And we have the privilege of witnessing her journey every day.

Another thing that I feel strongly when I read the book is the influence of her mother Sara, who was with her when she met the girl (Angelina tells the girl that her mother teaches at the Japanese School); you feel such a strong connection between the two - they "talk with their eyes" while with the homeless girl - and also Sara's kindness (giving "too much money" to the girl)... Sara is a bit underappreciated I feel
